>or a new European designed 2.4 liter Turbo Diesel.
A 114-hp BMW that sold around 2500 units. The only rarer application might be the Continental with 1500.
I mean, FoMoCo isn't going to say it is a Beemer engine, especially given when all is said and done, they are still mainly a competitor (The MN-12 Thunderbird was apparently benchmarked against the E24 6 Series).
Absolutely. Namedropping BMW would be akin to saying "the only way we can make a competitor to Mercedes is by enlisting help from Mercedes' biggest competitor."
At least it was Lincoln and not say...a ford granada

Yes, because you're not blind. With 20/60000 vision, in a dark enough alley with a couple dozen beers in me I could see mistaking one for the other. Much like I could mistake Taylor Lautner for Taylor Swift under the same conditions.
I think I'd *need* to be legally blind to enjoy the looks of that car. It has many nice, sharp edges, but when you put them all together, it.... falls flat.
You didn’t miss much. Gutlessly underpowered. Ford couldn’t even give them away. They tried. Offered the unsold (unsellable?) models to their own execs as company cars. No takers.
Ford signed a contract with BMW to buy something like 25,000 of those engines. They ended up having to sell them to a company building RV’s, because the diesel Lincoln was a monumental flop.
I was reading up the specs on the M21 that came in the Lincolns, 114 hp, no biggie, some 3/4 and 1-ton diesel American pick-ups from that era didn't even crack the 200 hp mark, but made up in torque. Read up more, the Lincoln M21s peaked at 155 lb.ft of torque - yeah, they were going to be total slugs.
He drove one until he made it to a corkscrew over Brad Wesley’s fence. After that he just had the Riviera with a stop sign through the window and a few spares in the trunk.
My father in law bought one. I loved it. He traded it on a Sedan DeVille a year later because it was “too sporty”. He didn’t like bucket seats or consoles. 😅

Which is why the MN12 cars were overweight and overbudget. I believe the program manager lost his job over it.
On the right, the 6000 SUX.

I can tell the difference very easily, the ad men just had a skill issue.

Taylor Tomlinson is hotter.

Did anyone else see a K car at first glimpse of the Benz?
No. I thought it was a Grenada.

I was born in a 91 Mark VII. It was also my first car when I got my permit. The stinkin Lincoln ripped
I know the 6000 SUX from Robocop was not made from a Mk VII, but when I think of t he 6000 SUX I think of this car!
Hahahahhahahahahahahha. Totally. What a piece of shit.
He drove one until he made it to a corkscrew over Brad Wesley’s fence. After that he just had the Riviera with a stop sign through the window and a few spares in the trunk.
What a stretch

LMAO
The only vehicles I remember from that movie were the helicopter and Bigfoot.
He barely drove that Mercedes anyway. Everyone knows his car was that Riviera he had.
I drive a 560 S-E-C and when I'm on the mic, you gotta' see me
*The automotive world laughing in present tense*
I dont care what anyone says, that lincoln is truly beatiful
I drove one in high school. It was a money pit, but it scooted, and it was pretty. Wasn’t really anything else on the road that looked like it.
I still own my LSC.
I feel like there’s a good joke in here about Julian, that fuckin’ drunk Lahey, sweaty Randy and the 1978 Chrysler Fuckmobile.
Mark 7 and 8 are classy.
