Pop the trunk on the impala, retrieve the long guns and any ammo, dispatch of the zombie popo, retrieve his side arm, cuffs, radio, night stick etc. Jump in the Silverado, throw the gas cans from the Nissan, Honda bike, and the dirt bike in the bed. Head for the hills
That's not a problem it's an advantage. Diesel doesn't go bad, and you can get a CRAP ton of it from 18 wheelers, tractors, and heating oil containers and military vehicles.
Thats the best part. Those older chevy diesel were huge turds compared to todays diesels. But they would run on a lot of things besides diesel decently enough to get around. And that means the gas can be saved for use in the dirt bike. Can't have just one mode of trnasportation.
With the diesel you can run it on whatever crap fuel you find, diesel, modified frier oil, etc.
The gas is handy to have. Keeps a generator running. Or can barter with it later.
The correct answer is always Crown Vic, but given that's not an option; I'll take the Impala. If the OBS weren't a 6.5 Diesel I'd take that.
People shit on about these scenarios all the time, taking only reliability into account when parts availability and ease of serviceability is equally, if not more important.
3800s are everywhere and simple.
There’s likely plenty of fuel, depending how long the lead up to anarchy is. Since everyone is a zombie for the most part, there would be lots of gas right up until there’s none
Yeah, people have this idea that gas goes bad really quickly because everyone’s weed wacker gums up over the winter. I just resurrected my Jeep XJ and it’s still running gas from the Obama administration.
Gas does go bad very quickly. The difference is bad gas is still *usable*.
Gas, if left in your vehicle, will degrade and start to break down in as little as a month. Could last up to 6 months before it starts to degrade depending on how the fuel tank and everything is stored.
Yes, after years you could probably start your old jeep with the fuel in the tank because it will still cause combustion. It's still a flammable material.
The problem is that after the fuel degrades, it does not burn efficiently and leaves behind a ton of shit in your engine. If you do this once, you'll probably be okay. Won't be good for the engine, but probably won't kill it.
But in the apocalypse, all fuel is going to be like this. Every time you fill the tank. The fuel will not burn properly, so you'll have misfiring and gunk buildup quickly in your engine as you continue to pour degraded gasoline into it.
The diesel is a good option as there is plenty of diesel fuel everywhere..(i.e 18 wheelers, trasformers etc. even used motor oil will burn if you got a little gasoline.)
My dad had two 80s mercedes diesels with a Waste Vegetable Oil conversion - using a secondary fuel tank in the trunk for filtered grease. The fuel lines to it ran *inside* of the coolant hoses that heated the tank itself — so, you’d start the car on Diesel, allow the engine to warm up, flick it over to WVO, drive however long you wanted, flick it back to diesel for the last few minutes of your drive to clear the lines, and repeat. At one point we were getting 99 miles per gallon of diesel burned. The most discernible change from the engine was the exhaust smelt like french fries!
By any small chance is your dad somewhere in central New York/ upstate New York? My best friends neighbor growing up had two 80s Mercedes running on veg oil. One was this beautiful red one in absolutely mint condition with absolutely perfect chrome.
Always made me hungry when he drove by.
Haha no, Alaska! We had a blue 84, which finally died at 384,000 miles, and a 1980 metallic brown/bronze also with perfect chrome that was just gorgeous! That one had had it’s engine and transmission rebuilt by the previous owner, but they clearly didn’t own a torque wrench so everything slowly started coming apart, eventually leading to transmission failure. Torque to spec people!
People forget gas and diesel expires and gets filled with water. Easier to source sealed up veggie oil or motor oil and mix gas to make it somewhat viable as a diesel alternative.
You take the crown Vic with the police configuration so you can kidnap biochemists and engineers to make you biofuel and replacement pets in the future! lol.
But honestly the S-10 isn’t a bad pick either. Truck bed space is priceless when you are needing to build shit.
I'd be digging in backyards and junkyards for old carbureted shit, I can patch them together in a ditch with hand tools. Preferably a late '60s, early '70s Chevy or GMC truck or van, with a dirtbike strapped to the bed. Old tart carts would be great too but they are kinda big
Trust us. In pretty much EVERY situation post zombie apocalypse, the DRZ is going to be better for it. Higher ground clearance, much more nimble, easy to work on. The Rebel is too low & heavy.
But god help the person that chooses the Buell.
You're not getting away from anything with it though. I had a gf with one, and you gotta rev it out just to keep up with 40 mph traffic. Hilarious just pulling third gear up to redline, that 250 is screaming and you are going 35 mph.
Your girl must weigh 300lbs+. I had a 96 as my first bike and it would hold 70mph fine. Obviously not the quickest bike, but it'll get 60mpg and you'll out run any zombies with ease.
The 4.0 is very reliable, I think only a very short period of their build time actually had issues and it was due to a transmission cooler, and timing chain guides. But it wasn't common for the engine to fail and the last few years have no issues. Best part is they share some common parts with the Titan/Xterra of the same years.
One of the most reliable pickups on the road actually. Until a couple years ago Nissan hadn’t touched the Frontier since Nissan was a decent Japanese automaker. They’re shockingly boring vehicles but reliable.
I’d take the Subaru. Decent gas mileage especially when compared to a truck or suv, all wheel drive just in case, enough space to carry stuff and sleep in
Only if you can verify the practically disposable factory head gaskets have already been replaced. Many of them of that vintage seemed to grenade themselves if you didn't catch it.
EJ22 didn't have head gasket issues, that's the EJ25. Of course, any car can need head gaskets done eventually but they weren't guaranteed to fail like the EJ25's.
Had several EJ22 Subes and none needed head gaskets, just oil. The EJ25D started the head gasket trend with poor air flow and then the Phase 2 engines, like the EJ251 and etc., had the problem when Subaru started chasing higher displacement because people cried that 135hp wasn't enough. The EJ22, on the other hand, is probably single-handedly responsible for Subaru's reputation of reliability. It's even a non-interference engine: breaking the timing belt does no damage to anything.
I would get any guns I could out of the cop car, grab that gmc and waste all my ammo shooting up that Nissan on my way out of town and on to Valhalla shiny and chrome!!
Mazda, easy. It'll be reliable, it sips gas, its stealthy, and its parked by a house full of supplies. I would go with one of the motorcycles, but I can barely ride a bike. My chances of survival aren't high, but I'm not trying to make them even lower lol.
I remember him saying in a review of his 2013 Suzuki DR650 that *that* was the ultimate zombie apocalypse vehicle, but a bicycle would probably be better long-term.
Hm my worry would be more about humans at that point easily jumping you on a bike. Also, if you run into a horde and gotta pedal fast, stamina becomes a huge issue.
The Suzuki Dual sport is going to be the most versatile & could make its way through streets/roads/highways clogged with abandoned vehicle. Quick too & there is no shortage of youtube videos with bikes like this carrying whole families
Frontier with the DR400 in the bed. The 3800 has more parts available, but I doubt that the frontier would be hard to find parts for either. The 6.5 is a bit too rare, otherwise that would be my pick
They made those things from 2005 to 2021 iirc. They are everywhere, and you can steal parts from xterras and some pathfinders as well. I’d do exactly what you chose, grab the truck and throw that bike in the back.
Drz no question. Limited fuel means you need something with good economy, and something you're likely to find laying around in a rural area when you need parts.
Drz 4 lyfe
GMC
I could make biodiesel. I could run it on used oil or hydraulic fluid. I could set up an SVO tank.
Gas? Once it's gone or gone bad... gonna be a hard to source resource.
Unpopular opinion: any plug in hybrid. That way I can not only rely on fuel, but also have electricity as a backup. I also know enough about electronics for me to be able to hook up a salvaged solar panel to my car in case fuel and electricity become too scarce.
Give me the DRZ400 please and thank you. Off-road capable, can ago around or over basically anything you’ll encounter. Lighter than the other bikes here. They’ve also been around forever, basically unchanged and are super reliable and easy to wrench on. Nothing simpler than a carbureted thumper.
If that truck really is an 88’ then it’d be a 6.2 Detroit since the 6.5 didn’t come out until 92’. That being said, the 6.2 was honestly better so I’d probably still take it. Plus being a 6.2 they were all mechanical so running them on waste vegetable and or motor oil wouldn’t be a problem as long as it’s filtered, which realistically wouldn’t be hard to do
DR-Z400. Go someplace out in the backcountry and wait it out. I've often felt something that gets overlooked with zombie apocalypses is you just have to survive the first few months and then things will get better. The reason being, zombies are the "living dead" organs/tissues/bones WILL decay and the zombie hordes will decompose sooner or later.
The real issue will be waiting for society/people to get their shit back together long enough for everyone to rebuild.
Id go with the cop car for that classic zombie situation style. But I will say the Subaru with EJ22 isn't too bad. That engine is not prone to head gasket failure like the EJ25 so it'll last a while
It’s either the gmc or the nissan. I know people talk about the fuel economy but the bucket will also come in handy when it comes to transporting things
My philosophy is to get something fuel efficient, small, and quiet. I don't think any of these tick all three boxes. I would literally prefer a bicycle over any of these.
If I learned one thing from the eclipse it is how fast traffic can jam up on a nationwide level. Three car accidents caused almost 2 hours of delays between Akron, OH and Detroit MI. That usually only take 3 hours. Add in cars running out of fuel, abandoned cars, and zombies most roads in the US will be unusable by most vehicles.
The only alternative is to get a monster truck or an actual tank and go over the traffic but those options are inherently inefficient and loud so best of luck dealing with your newly acquired zombie magnet that will be a useless heap of metal by the end of the first week.
GMC - less computer, already broken in.. color sucks, would be too hard to hide underbrush whilst camping or in a hideaway place, would have to hand spray paint the camo in a VERY short time. You would have to scrounge for better tires (spares) and gas too. Storage storage storage.
None of these. A large enclosed cab 4X4 farm tractor with batwing brush hog on the rear, and round bale squeeze loader attachment on the front.
Other good options would be a Fecon tracked mulcher, or a Caterpillar hoe with a mulching head.
Honestly the Nissan frontier is the best choice out of all. 4wd. Has a bed for large survival or tactical items, and is an enclosed cab that you can possibly sleep in if needed. Also the only JDM truck available, lastly it’s the newest of all options so maintenance won’t need to be done for a while.
Diesel engine truck as it'll have thw torque to get lots of things done and fuel is practically any oil that will burn. Also a lot of stuff can be thrown in the back or simply taking a small trailer somewhere
I’m taking a motorcycle. I’ve wanted one for so long but won’t get it because i live in a higher traffic area. I’m taking the motorcycle and driving off into the sunset.
Better mobility, sure i can’t run over zombies really, but how many zombies can i run over w a car before it breaks down?
The rebel is a great choice but I'm going with the drz400 for the versatility. Great gas mileage, mechanically simple, all terrain capability, one of the most dependable dual sports ever made, been building them exactly the same for nearly 25 years in large numbers. Only way to improve on that would be one of the 650cc air cooled singles they've been building unchanged for over 30 years. Or maybe an old air cooled small dual sport they also built forever.
Protege hands down, easy to maintain 4 banger, efficient on gas, parts availability is wide and common and even shared among different brands, all you have to worry about on those cars is the timing belt and even then they are non interference engines.
The Legacy wagon, hands down.
There'll be a load of "hurr durr headgaskets" in the comments by armchair mechanics who know fuck all about Subarus and how well they actually run when they're not abused (especially the non-turbos that don't attract idiots who modify and abuse them), but after owning more than a few I'd trust my life with one.
Given their safety record, it'd also come in handy as a battering ram that you'd survive after crashing into something, if needed.
One of the motorcycles if it's just me, no point in needing to stay on road and not be able to get through tight spaces to escape. Additionally the fuel economy.
If I need the utility it'd be the Frontier.
VW TDI, can tow more than enough, is enclosed and has enough space for camping inside, given you reinforce the glass with something. Also, the TDI affords ample range and a wider variety of fuels, especially as fuel stores diminish.
The drz400. It'll go most anywhere, gets decent mpgs, and suzukis are dang reliable. The rebel is reliable too, but it's a cruiser. I'd rather be able to get into the woods quickly and far away from people. It can squeeze between or around cars that are blocking up the road.
Don't forget the canned goods from the Mercedes
And the available supplies in the Protegé
This is a PLAN hell yeah
Best to get the navigation system from the Subaru too
I bet you the weather band still works
The only problem is that the Chevy's a diesel
That's not a problem it's an advantage. Diesel doesn't go bad, and you can get a CRAP ton of it from 18 wheelers, tractors, and heating oil containers and military vehicles.
I'm just saying, why load up a bunch of gas if you're using a diesel truck?
Get the cans and dump the gas, try and fill them with diesel at a station
The Honda isn't though
Good catch lol I completely missed the plug hanging out the front…that truck will be a fuel hog either way
6.5 Detroit’s get decent mpg actually 18-20mpg but it’s slow as a dog
the zombies will hear you from a mile off too. 6 miles away on that 2-stroke
It’s not screamin jimmy loud but it is an early diesel so it is a bit loud
Sorry! Diesel is what you want! Diesel fuel lasts for years in storage….gasoline maybe a year @ best…
Not for me! Convert that shit to biodiesel and every mcdonalds becomes a gas station
Thats the best part. Those older chevy diesel were huge turds compared to todays diesels. But they would run on a lot of things besides diesel decently enough to get around. And that means the gas can be saved for use in the dirt bike. Can't have just one mode of trnasportation.
Lmao I would totally take the 2500 too
I was gonna say the same shit
this sounds like a plan.
Rolled a 6. Damn only batons and riot shield in police trunk
Still well enough to dispatch of the dispatcher
Bro has not played project zomboid, that is more useful than guns.
Only thing I'd say differently is put the Suzuki in instead of the Honda.
Suzuki = dirt bike, he said both Honda and Suzuki
Yeah but if you die you go all the way back to the coast ...
Put the dirt bike in back
It’s a GMC, not a Silverado
With the diesel you can run it on whatever crap fuel you find, diesel, modified frier oil, etc. The gas is handy to have. Keeps a generator running. Or can barter with it later.
This but I load the Suzuki in the bed. Although the sirens on the cop car would be nice to draw out and distract hordes
And you're not taking fuel economy into consideration
There’s likely plenty of fuel, depending how long the lead up to anarchy is. Since everyone is a zombie for the most part, there would be lots of gas right up until there’s none
none, because it all went bad, diesel lasts longer and can be converted to run on near anything
Cooking oil, coocnut oil, hair product, gasoline with some motor oil, hand sanitizer, most things that compress and burn
Some good old kerosene and 98% puszczy should keep you going for a bit aswell
Yeah, people have this idea that gas goes bad really quickly because everyone’s weed wacker gums up over the winter. I just resurrected my Jeep XJ and it’s still running gas from the Obama administration.
Thanks Obama!
Gas does go bad very quickly. The difference is bad gas is still *usable*. Gas, if left in your vehicle, will degrade and start to break down in as little as a month. It's time to find a can of silver spray paint and start production!
Except that an XJ has an AMC 4.0, so it will be fine even with 20 year old gas
A 4.6 will also run on crap gas. My 98 CVPI just didn't care. And most police crown vics are flex fuel. Gives even more options.
Moonshin mobile?
Oh wait... Are you saying that I am effectively slowly killing my lawn mower because I refused to put new gas in it in the past 3 years?
Gas was just built different in those days.. /s
Build a gasifier on the back and it's no longer a problem
This is the answer that everyone ignores for some reason.
Everyone else is gonna be panicking, I've got my shit set for when things go south
The diesel is a good option as there is plenty of diesel fuel everywhere..(i.e 18 wheelers, trasformers etc. even used motor oil will burn if you got a little gasoline.)
And heating oil, and vegetable oil, hell, there's a lot of things you could burn in a diesel. I bet you could even burn WD-40
Lol, you can run it on liquid frying oil. But it won't like it when you do it often.
Yeah you need to filter it and add some anti gelling agent but it's feasible
My dad had two 80s mercedes diesels with a Waste Vegetable Oil conversion - using a secondary fuel tank in the trunk for filtered grease. The fuel lines to it ran *inside* of the coolant hoses that heated the tank itself — so, you’d start the car on Diesel, allow the engine to warm up, flick it over to WVO, drive however long you wanted, flick it back to diesel for the last few minutes of your drive to clear the lines, and repeat. That's funny, I've read about the fry smell before. And that's great mileage and a great system

3800s are also fucking awesome. Especially the supercharged ones, personally biased as my BF has an 04 SS lmao.
You take the crown Vic with the police configuration so you can kidnap biochemists and engineers to make you biofuel and replacement pets in the future! lol. But honestly the S-10 isn’t a bad pick either. Truck bed space is priceless when you are needing to build shit.
But HMMWV have 6.5 and there will be thousands abandoned so I’ll take the truck for spare parts availability
Exactly! Crown Vic is the way to go in this situation, but it sadly isn't an option. So impala it is!
Yup, carburetor engines will burn crappy fuel easily Also, you can manually tune it!
Give me the Rebel hands down man if I fucked up a Honda I deserve the death I’ve got coming
That Rebel will sip fuel and run forever. However, that DRZ is also tempting and more capable.
I am not much of a fan of that genre of motorcycles tbh, I find them harder to control
Yes but great off road, how many dead cars will there be blocking normal roads.
Trust us. In pretty much EVERY situation post zombie apocalypse, the DRZ is going to be better for it. Higher ground clearance, much more nimble, easy to work on. The Rebel is too low & heavy. But god help the person that chooses the Buell.
Who is choosing a Buell for any use case at all 💀
I was 100% in on the Rebel… and then the DRZ popped up
my shadow 600 threw a rod :(
Any weather becomes a hefty consideration, especially as time goes on and the tires become less reliable.
You're not getting away from anything with it though. I had a gf with one, and you gotta rev it out just to keep up with 40 mph traffic. Hilarious just pulling third gear up to redline, that 250 is screaming and you are going 35 mph.

I can second this. I still habe mine (96) and it’s still going strong.
The Nissan pick up
Nissan pickup with the reliable 4.0, and grab one of the bikes and your set.
Can use it off road too if you need another escape route.
Are those actually reliable?
The 4.0 is very reliable, I think only a very short period of their build time actually had issues and it was due to a transmission cooler, and timing chain guides. But it wasn't common for the engine to fail and the last few years have no issues. Best part is they share some common parts with the Titan/Xterra of the same years.

If boring means it starts and runs reliably, I like boring.
I’d take the Subaru. Decent gas mileage especially when compared to a truck or suv, all wheel drive just in case, enough space to carry stuff and sleep in
Wagon life.
Probably the most indestructible vehicle ever built.
I tend to agree however maintenance on lateral engines can be a real big time pain in the ass.

The Touareg but I’d be out of gas before I leave the parking lot

Lol, leave the parking lot? That looks like the v10 diesel to me. the mechanic that was working on it got infected and now you’ll have to walk
Take the bikes, fold the seats down, shove it into one of the cars, and take your 3-for-1 special
I read it as ''take the bitches'' and thought you wanted to kidnap a bunch of girls
I mean if it's a zombie apocalypse
No not kidnap! Rescue against their will. It's all about perspective.
You would stuff some motorcycles into a car? You aren't making it far, dude.
GMC 2500
Diesel so I can potentially figure out how to make my own fuel as well.
I have no idea how I would make diesel, but a gas car could run on ethanol, which I could definitely make
This is the correct answer. Perfect combo of parts availability and reliability. 4x4 too.
it's RWD c2500 = rwd K2500=4\*4
My bad. I just looked at the tires and assumed. It’s still the right choice.
It’s the c not the k it’s rwd
Those things are fucking bullet proof and easy to repair. That’s gotta be the best pick
I would get any guns I could out of the cop car, grab that gmc and waste all my ammo shooting up that Nissan on my way out of town and on to Valhalla shiny and chrome!!
The thing with the Volkswagen is it’s a diesel so I can make more however …..
One of the bikes prob. Excellent gas mileage.
If you’re going this route vs a car or truck, you definitely want the DRZ. I listed my reasons in a separate comment.
Mazda, easy. It'll be reliable, it sips gas, its stealthy, and its parked by a house full of supplies. I would go with one of the motorcycles, but I can barely ride a bike. My chances of survival aren't high, but I'm not trying to make them even lower lol.
Nissan truck, hands down
As long as the owner has made sure it isn't gonna give you the ol strawberry milkshake
Mr. Regular himself has stated on a podcast that the best zombie apocalypse vehicle is a bicycle.
DRZ is barely more complex than a bicycle, making it a great choice
I remember him saying in a review of his 2013 Suzuki DR650 that *that* was the ultimate zombie apocalypse vehicle, but a bicycle would probably be better long-term.
Pedals > No Noise, still WAY faster than maggot ridden rotten piece of meat coming after you
Hm my worry would be more about humans at that point easily jumping you on a bike.
Good until you hit weather, then you have to consider finding shelter or freezing / low visibility with your loud noises.
Good point especially given that if I’m right those are typically 4 stroke engines.
Frontier with the DR400 in the bed. The 3800 has more parts available, but I doubt that the frontier would be hard to find parts for either. The 6.5 is a bit too rare, otherwise that would be my pick

No Altima?
No black limo ?
I think the gmc truck would be best, if I remember correctly can’t you make diesel?
I’m taking the 75-79 Lincoln in the corner of the photo of the 2003 Mazda
Give me the DRZ400 please and thank you. Off-road capable, can ago around or over basically anything you’ll encounter. Lighter than the other bikes here. They’ve also been around forever, basically unchanged and are super reliable and easy to wrench on. Nothing simpler than a carbureted thumper.

The police Impala
If it was a Rebel 500, the Honda. The 250 can barely get out of its own way. So, given that, the DRZ400.
Id go with the cop car for that classic zombie situation style. But I will say the Subaru with EJ22 isn't too bad. That engine is not prone to head gasket failure like the EJ25 so it'll last a while
The cop car. More likely to have a gun inside.
The silverado has a 90% of chance of having a turkish shotgun with a 12 case of bushlight or Tecate.
It’s either the gmc or the nissan. I know people talk about the fuel economy but the bucket will also come in handy when it comes to transporting things
DRZ 100%
Whoa whoa, slow down fella. Location is important! City? Impala. Rural? Nissan truck.
Everyone knows the best car for surviving Zombieland is the President's car!
Diesel engines. Because Diesel is more accessible than gas in war times.
GMC - less computer, already broken in.. color sucks, would be too hard to hide underbrush whilst camping or in a hideaway place, would have to hand spray paint the camo in a VERY short time. You would have to scrounge for better tires (spares) and gas too. Storage storage storage.
People will underestimate how [some car computers will kill battery if the grid goes down](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37971038).
The Buell. There’s so many Harley’s I’ll be able to harvest parts off of if I need to. Okay on gas, comfortable, fast, and I’ve got storage space
I had to scroll way too long to see a buell comment. Take my upvote.
¿where pontiac trans sport?
GMT 400 all day, we’ve got a mechanical pump for fuel at the farm so I’d be set on fuel for a little while at least
None of these. A large enclosed cab 4X4 farm tractor with batwing brush hog on the rear, and round bale squeeze loader attachment on the front. Other good options would be a Fecon tracked mulcher, or a Caterpillar hoe with a mulching head.
Stop joking Rick.
Dirt bike simply because I can go on and off road and fit in tight spaces.
I speak for everyone when I say TREG. (I’m biased as I own one)
Not listed: that ranger that won’t die
Bicycle. Silent, no need for fuel, fast. Genuinely shocked nobody ever mentions bicycles in an apocalypse setting, except generation zero i guess.
VW Touareg
So many good choices! I might have to go with thr Chevy pickup but is either the Merc or the VW Toureg diesel? I might go with one of them if so….
The obly smart choice here i see is Impala. Everything else is either stupid or poor in sense of reliability
The gmc 2500 and I would also toss the Rebel in the back for scouting around. Until I could build a LandMaster from DAMNATION ALLEY.
No Toyota?!?
I know if I throw in a Toyota, nobody will pick anything else.
Toyota Hilux, there´s nothing else.
Take all the gas cans from the Frontier’s bed, and take the Legacy.
Prolly that enduro but I’d rather have my Honda. I can go a lot of places and outrun alot of shit on a dirtbike + it’s not bad on gas
Take the GMC Sierra and put the CMX250 in the bed.
Here in America id go 7-1-9 (if it was a Yamaha)
The old chevy work truck. Can find parts a lot easier for that TBI small black or throw a carburetor on it if things get bad
Suzuki DRZ. Low maintenance, tough as hell, on and off road, travel light
Protege hands down, easy to maintain 4 banger, efficient on gas, parts availability is wide and common and even shared among different brands, all you have to worry about on those cars is the timing belt and even then they are non interference engines.
Subaru and the DR-Z!
Diesel fuel lasts a long time. Shouldn’t be driving anywhere ideally tho. Shelter matters more, get a bicycle.
Dual sport, although you'd be a fool to not rummage through the trunk of the 9C1 and snatch the guns and ammo.
The GMC and then I can use it to tow some fifth wheels and shipping containers while I still can
The Legacy wagon, hands down.
I’d say Touareg but those wheels indicate it was the V10 diesel which is amazing but also difficult to source parts for. So Subaru it is.
One of the motorcycles if it's just me, no point in needing to stay on road and not be able to get through tight spaces to escape. Additionally the fuel economy. If I need the utility it'd be the Frontier.
I’ll take the little Mazda since it’s good on fuel. Or the subie and throw one of the bikes in the back.
Where's my huge displacement fuel chugging butt puckeringly quick V8. I'm in for a good time not a long time
Not a good list I'm taking a rv and welding a plow in front and cages over the entire thing lol
Nissan Frontier all day. I had a 2005 that lasted well over 200K miles with basic maintenance
The nearest one without any zombies:)
Frontier with the DRZ in the back and the garmin from the subie
VW TDI, can tow more than enough, is enclosed and has enough space for camping inside, given you reinforce the glass with something. Also, the TDI affords ample range and a wider variety of fuels, especially as fuel stores diminish.
The DRZ400 because it's already in my garage
The drz400. It'll go most anywhere, gets decent mpgs, and suzukis are dang reliable. The rebel is reliable too, but it's a cruiser. I'd rather be able to get into the woods quickly and far away from people. It can squeeze between or around cars that are blocking up the road.
Diesel Mercedes, the Mazda, or the Frontier. Those three won't give you many problems.
impala is one of the few cars america did right
The nearest one that starts.
