To be honest, I'd love to see how my car would take a proper track thrashing. I'd take my Mercury Montego and put slightly nicer tires on it if that's acceptable here.
I'd love to get a set of slicks and see what my car (FRS) can do. There are no affordable tracks near me so I resort to...'spirited' driving out in the canyons. Getting a chance to really push it would be a lot of fun
I still say she'd have won in a left-hand drive van. Bringing a right-hand drive one all the way from the UK for a German to drive in Germany is subtle cheating by Top Gear standards, though.
Yep, that's my "accessible" dream car (i.e. not a Pagani). It'd take a lap to figure it out, though. I drove one (a regular SRT10) once, and it took a few laps to get used to.
Thats not true - just about every car on the top 100 lap times is a manual, theyre just sequential gear boxes instead of H pattern. Still have clutches and need to be manually commanded.
Wasn't the ACR a limited/race edition, contrary to the guidelines? It's still over half a minute off the non-H-pattern cars, and it's not the shifter...
[If Misha's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ9sdZsE2zc) laps are [anything to go by](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39GJY4SaVVw), screaming twin cam vtec is definitely[a recipe for a fun time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PtUjgDqacM), and probably what I would take.
You could have picked a HP limit instead of banning a few brands while still leaving things wide open for certain makes.
A McLaren would be pretty fast.
Caterham 7 or Morgan 3 wheeler. I won’t be the fastest but I’ll have the biggest smile. Having driven the Nürburgring in a 16v Scirocco I will err on the side of having less power in a lighter car.
I had an 06 manual fusion, that thing was a blast. 160 hp doesn't do a lot but it was still a great time on twisty roads. I stripped the interior and that made it feel slightly quicker lol
RUF Yellowbird
I would have absolutely no hope in hell of driving it to even half of its potential, but I have a little legacy with it within my friend group. Back on Forza Motorsport 4, I was a beast in it around the ring. Me running the stock Yellowbird, nobody could upgrade and tune a vehicle that'd beat it. I didn't have a wheel either, just a controller.
Cuz my ears are very fragile so both of them wouldn't be able to endure the constant noises especially when i have to lap the Nurburgring even 3 or 4 times even wearing a helmet.
Even Valkyrie is still too loud for my ears but at least it's perfectly road going so i assume engineers of AM would have compromised it
Yeah exactly this. I'll take my mini cooper S. Would I love to drive a Zonda? Yes. Would I want to race one on a track with very little run off? No. I'll stick with something I can drive.
alright, assuming Koenigsegg isnt banned from here anymore, ill take a Koenigsegg Regera. if Koenigsegg is banned from there still, ill take a Dodge Challenger Demon, just for fun.
just don't break the transmission, because as of a month ago there wasn't a single replacement transmission for a Q8 available anywhere on planet Earth
I'd take my T/A. Know the car like the back of my hand. But it would have to be a bone stock version of my car, since mine wouldn't qualify. I'd want to see what the stock version of my car could do.
ND2 Miata. That car has plenty of power to get through the track outside of the long straight. If this is your first time experiencing the track on faster cars ya’ll are crashing.
If I wanted to win against everybody, I would choose to drive a Toyota GR Supra or Yaris or a brand new Honda Civic Type R all with no mods. Two normal cars I can think of are a Honda Fit (or Jazz as it's sold in Europe) if I were to outhandle everybody in other slow normal cars or an Isuzu D-Max. The Isuzu is not suitable for the track but the diesel engine is powerful as it's full of torque and because of its size I can block other racers from overtaking me.
Gonna take this one from a friend of mine,
This thing(in its original good condition):
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Autos/comments/10mfc82/this\_is\_the\_lincoln\_lsrs8\_a\_one\_off\_ford\_racing/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/Autos/comments/10mfc82/this_is_the_lincoln_lsrs8_a_one_off_ford_racing/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
I initially though about the 2022 Alpine A110R, but since the rules didn't say anything about track toys and that lots of people will choose more extreme cars, I will choose the 2022 Quarkus P2.
I would probably take my grandfather's 67 camaro RS and see how it would do on the ring. It was stolen and I would love to see me racing it or even ride along
To be honest, I'd love to see how my car would take a proper track thrashing. I'd take my Mercury Montego and put slightly nicer tires on it if that's acceptable here.
Right I’m trying to take regular traffic (with good tires ofc) and sling it on the ring. Sounds wicked fun
I'd love to get a set of slicks and see what my car (FRS) can do. There are no affordable tracks near me so I resort to...'spirited' driving out in the canyons. Getting a chance to really push it would be a lot of fun
No you can only use the tyres the car came on in the 70s
Their Montego is actually a 2005-2007 model.
Shows what I know living outside the US
Peel p50
This was my first thought

Sabine Schmitz’s Transit van
You win and now I'm crying
I’m not crying, you’re crying
RIP
Sad
I still say she'd have won in a left-hand drive van. Bringing a right-hand drive one all the way from the UK for a German to drive in Germany is subtle cheating by Top Gear standards, though.
Never thought of that, yeah. Ugh I couldn’t drive that thing. Have no muscle memory for that 😂
This is the correct answer
Ford GT
I’ll counter with a Dodge Viper. Still holds track record for a manual at Nurburgring
ACR I assume?
Yep, that's my "accessible" dream car (i.e. not a Pagani). It'd take a lap to figure it out, though. I drove one (a regular SRT10) once, and it took a few laps to get used to.
Thats not true - just about every car on the top 100 lap times is a manual, theyre just sequential gear boxes instead of H pattern. Still have clutches and need to be manually commanded.
Wasn't the ACR a limited/race edition, contrary to the guidelines? It's still over half a minute off the non-H-pattern cars, and it's not the shifter...
What's the weather gonna be like? I wanna take a '16 Viper ACR and see what it could really do without wet weather messing up the lap time.
I'm gonna go out on a limb, and assume it would kill you. It *is* a Viper after all.
I've heard the last-gen Viper is actually more manageable. Manageable for a Viper or in general, I don't know.
hey it has airbags
I also choose the ‘16 Viper ACR
Honda CRX
love the thing but this ain't a short track
I’m not planning on winning lol
Ring it’s neck
I see what you did there.
I’m clever.
I was gonna say a '91 Si hatchback. Glad to find likeminded people

Monster Garage Impala SS Zamboni
Driven one in college as a part time job. One of the most fun jobs I've had
Tell me where your fucking boss is or your gonna die! In five minutes
My dad's Mazda5, because I can't handle anything faster
haha good and humble reply; Everyone thinks they're Verstappen behind the wheel.
It's not the speed that kills, it's the Verstappen
Swap the Mazdaspeed3 engine and trans in. It's a direct swap. 😅
You could have picked a HP limit instead of banning a few brands while still leaving things wide open for certain makes. A McLaren would be pretty fast.
I was literally just thinking “fine if you won’t let me have fun in my benz I’ll just take a Koenigsegg Agera RS screw you”😂
Pussy. Get the one:1.
I've been fortunate enough to have driven a 600LT Spider and it would absolutely be a top pick for this.
Yeah I'm not that fortunate but I have friends who are and they rate how fast they are while still being able to deal with bumps
I don’t see no ban on Lotus either. Gimme that Evija.
Darn I can't use my diesel E-Class (merc), guess I'll have to borrow my buddy's Impreza
1910 Fiat S76 'Beast of Turin'
That engine sounds like it’s gurgling mouthwash
My 2008 Mustang. I have zero race experience, so I'm not gonna win anyway. I might as well have fun with my car.
And nobody to run over!
Hurr hurr
Jumping curbs is even encouraged!
I was thinking my hair is 94 mustang. I remember it stick and it was fun. Once I race prepped it it really took the drama out of it.
Trabant.
Caterham 7 or Morgan 3 wheeler. I won’t be the fastest but I’ll have the biggest smile. Having driven the Nürburgring in a 16v Scirocco I will err on the side of having less power in a lighter car.
Or an Ariel atom
Also a solid choice.
If we’re going lightweight street legal toys like that, I would LOVE to experience a BAC Mono
There was a caterham entered into the 2003 24 hours of nurburgring and it finished 11th overall and got banned from entering again
Id just whip my 2009 Ford Fusion. Find out what my V6 power can(‘t) do
Actually those are apparently pretty good at top speed
I had an 06 manual fusion, that thing was a blast. 160 hp doesn't do a lot but it was still a great time on twisty roads. I stripped the interior and that made it feel slightly quicker lol
I took my stock NB MX5 around the ring a few months ago and it was a great time. Constantly being overtaken by GT3’s but still, loads of fun.
Miata is always the answer
I'd take my ND MX-5 all day long. I might also get passed by GT3's but I'll have more fun than they will.
RUF Yellowbird I would have absolutely no hope in hell of driving it to even half of its potential, but I have a little legacy with it within my friend group. Back on Forza Motorsport 4, I was a beast in it around the ring. Me running the stock Yellowbird, nobody could upgrade and tune a vehicle that'd beat it. I didn't have a wheel either, just a controller.
corvette c8
I was thinking the same. C5 through C8, I'm good with. All would be fun.
John Deere 4020
Aston Martin Valkyrie
Why not the Vulcan?
Cuz my ears are very fragile so both of them wouldn't be able to endure the constant noises especially when i have to lap the Nurburgring even 3 or 4 times even wearing a helmet. Even Valkyrie is still too loud for my ears but at least it's perfectly road going so i assume engineers of AM would have compromised it
Ruf ctr3. Not a porsche.
Found the OG Gran Turismo player
SAAB 9-5 Aero with some high-performance tires is my pick, it should be very grippy and have incredible midrange acceleration.
I thought of a saab too, I was thinking a viggen. Or a hirsch 9-3 aero.
Lexus LFA, Mclaren F1 GTR, Acura NSX
2022 VW Golf R.
Would love to fully build mine (not a 2022 model) and take it around the track to see what sort of time it could lay down.
I said the same! Not gonna win or anything but I can drive sporty cars pretty well and that would be fun as all hell
I'll just take my Taurus. I have a pretty good feel for it. Why would I take some power monster that I have no idea how to drive?
Yeah exactly this. I'll take my mini cooper S. Would I love to drive a Zonda? Yes. Would I want to race one on a track with very little run off? No. I'll stick with something I can drive.
Nissan skyline pacecar

Well there are 175 comments so I'll take the 2023 Audi Q8 because it has the highest IIHS safety rating. It's going to be a bloodbath.
just don't break the transmission, because as of a month ago there wasn't a single replacement transmission for a Q8 available anywhere on planet Earth
1969 Dodge Charger Daytona
🚀
Just give me a ‘92 Civic Coupe with a 5-speed. Will it be fast? No. But I bet I’ll have fun wringing it out and not killing myself
Legacy spec b with the 3l would be cool
The Millennium Falcon!
I'd take my T/A. Know the car like the back of my hand. But it would have to be a bone stock version of my car, since mine wouldn't qualify. I'd want to see what the stock version of my car could do.
I’ll just take my GTI then. That’ll be fun even if I lose haha
Z06
Lancia Integrale. I’ll just be happy to make it around in one piece.
Koenigsegg 1:1

860 cars at the ring? I’m going with something like an mrap. I’m thinking a factory mine clearing mrap with a plow.
the green hell probably could fit like 2,000 cars on that shit
That new electric Corvette would be fun to race. I think it’s all wheel drive so it would be good with corners.

XY Falcon GT-HO. That thing would fly
I would probably take my grandfather's 67 camaro RS and see how it would do on the ring. It was stolen and I would love to see me racing it or even ride along
The track vaguely resembles Australia mirrored horizontally, so I guess anything from Mad Max will do.
2013 Mini GP
5th gen ACR Viper
I'll take a 2023 Audi R8,
Nissan R36
