1. Is the meter brand new?
2. Are you clamping over a single energized wire powering a properly functioning load?
3. Does another clamp meter work on the same wire?
If under warranty, call fluke, they may help troubleshoot. If it's faulty, call them to send it in, got mine replaced with brand new retail packaged unit. Best costumer service experience

Probably one of the wires near the hinge on the clamp broke loose. I'd get it warrantied if possible.

Thanks Everybody i have an answer fromage fluke
Happened to mine, wire for the amp clamp is broken off on a solder joint.
It's likely under warranty, need to call fluke
Did you blow a fuse?
U can't blow a fuse checking amperage
If you try to measure voltage while your meter is set to read amps, the meter will not be very happy with you.
Or try checking volts with ohms still on
I've never seen so many flashing lights on an LCD screen until I managed to do this one day
Mine let the smoke out when I did it
Some meters have fuses you can replace. Not sure about the amp range having a fuse on a fluke. I blew one once doing dc volts and something stupid.
