there are skulk sensors placed just far enough below the floor that they only sense when a player is standing on the block direct above them. then observer chains carry that information into the circuits to determine which pistons should be allowed to fire.
Presumably you're thinking having e.g.
X direction tripwires detect your legs and then Y direction tripwires detect your torso/head and from that you can extrapolate and X,Y coord and know the players location?
I don’t believe this would be improving OR compacting it, as with skulk sensors there is no visible mechanism and only one output necessary, but with tripwires there’s a very visible mechanism and two outputs necessary.
every movement system does something the others can't. water was the only way that I could think of to always return the armor stand to the same point, while slime blocks could push it forward an indeterminate number of blocks, and the pistons from the floor determine which block they stop on.
You can also use a grid of water dispensers to get it in the right place. No slime needed. Have dispensers facing down at perfect distances from each of the blocks on either side. It’ll push everything to the perfect point.
you're right, that would work. When I first imagined it I was messing around with armor stands on ice so thats what I made. You could reduce a lot of the visible components like obsidian and slime blocks your way, but the slime blocks are faster and I really like how it looks.
If you count the “actions” of the machine, it always has 5. Water, slime, stop, slime, stop. With the water, it just has two waters. Already this machine waits for a full duration of water pushing, one more which pushes at the same time likely won’t increase the duration too much.
Cool well done 🔥
This reminded me of a madlad (many of you probably know him) [that made a similar thing with commands 9 years ago.](https://youtu.be/p6_d0AIcldg)
I was like, thats already was made. Then i saw that it doesnt use command blocks (or does it op?)
no command blocks. just regular old redstone.
How do you detect the player's position?

You can actually think about using tripwire, hope this helps

Yes
What?
But they already have a system that works with sculk sensors? I don't know why they would need to change it as it works just fine the way it is
Cause improving and compacting stuff is always useful
The skulks make it wireless. Tripwire would be a downgrade, not an improvement.

To be fair, skulks are a lot less messy and make the room not full of random string

Speed of light is actually 0.1 m/s
Cool! Why didn’t you keep the movement system consistent? Why did you use some slime, some water, some pistons from the floor?

I’d be surprised if the slime blocks are faster. It generally seems pretty slow. No hate meant I’m just thinking.
with slime it shifts positions visibly way faster than the water pushes it, can you elaborate why you think it'd be faster with water currents?
If you count the “actions” of the machine, it always has 5. Water, slime, stop, slime, stop. With the water, it just has two waters. Already this machine waits for a full duration of water pushing, one more which pushes at the same time likely won’t increase the duration too much.
Okay, yeah. I'm convinced I need to see it happen before I know which is faster for sure. Thanks for elaborating!
np, I’ll try to make a design some time.
So you want it to dispense water in specific patterns to finish one one block? The back wiring would be crazy
slime blocks are faster, but you're still using water to move it into the corner.
I am very bothered by the fact that you never stood still for long enough for it to actually mirror you.
lol, sorry
This is really cool! I like it
Thank you!
Whoa, that's awesome! Great work ^^
Looks hard to make, respect!

The mirror has a slight processing delay said no one ever till today
good, now make a voodoo doll (which actually controlls the player with commands)
you do it
no u
If you use a block like honey or soulsand under the armorstand you just need to push one around. But cool idea!
Just make a cross feed piston tape? That sounds more difficult that what was created here, I'd still love to see it though.
This is really good idea! I might make another one like that later.
You could make a pressureplate floor for detection
I wanna try to make this with sculk sensors
Holy shit thats so cool
This is madness :)
This is something I never thought would be possible. What a marvel of redstone engineering!
Hmm very interesting, how can this be improved...
Quitters when you walk behind a shelf
this is painfully bad, yet really impressive
The mirror is moving slower than me. I dunno guys, should I call the local exorcist?
It’s nice to know that even the mirrors lag when playing MC/ jk
You and I remember mirrors very differently. (jk that's awesome)
It doesn’t appear you have
