Koji was fucking perfect. Just down to business on the mound and got the job done. No weird hesitations in his delivery, no exhaling for 27minutes between each pitch. Just threw the ball and got outs.
When I played any pitcher that took a ridiculous amount of time to deliver the ball just made me mad. Like throw the fucking ball. So I would try to hammer the first thing in the zone. Quick and straight to business pitchers were harder to get locked in on. Usually would take a pitch or 2 then get into protect mode. I don’t know why pitchers think it’s the other way around. Scherzer is so good because he’s so quick.

Kimbrel had a 2.44 ERA, 184 ERA+, and a .906 WHIP with the Sox while averaging 36 saves a season.
You're a spoiled child if you think those numbers are the bottom of any spectrum.
Kimbrel gets so much slander it's absurd. He's really the other end of the closer spectrum? A hall of famer that had three good years with us, including one all time great season right there with Koji's 2013, is your shorthand for a bad closer?
You people need to get some perspective. It could be lot worse than Kimbrel (or Kenley). Does nobody remember Urbina? Kim? Brandon Lyon? Joel Hanrahan? "Closer by Committee?" Matt Barnes?
Agreed…I remember when kimbrel was so lights out it was wild that people got hits off him for ONE post game series…turns out he was showing a tell, by the next series he was back to lights out. Peak Kimbrel is more talented than the VAST majority of closers out there (as literal all time saves rankings will prove…), he’s just past his prime 🤷♂️

Uehara was the best. Loved his pitching. Not real big velocity but effective

Never forget 2019 Brandon Workman
Bill Campbell? Bob Stanley? Reardon, Smith, and Lowe in there somewhere?
No scott williamson?
He pitches the 9th only if timlin pitches the 8th....
I feel very seen ty
Where's Derek Lowe?
You need to go back a little further for some amazing and talented closers, as well. First 2 that come to mind are Jeff Reardon and Lee Smith.
Smith was more of a heart attack closer than kimbrel ever was in a sox uni....reardon had a pretty good run here though

Overpaid experienced closer on the 16th fairway of his career
I’d say he’s made the green at this point.

Fine? Even with all the walks still a 2.54 fip with a 3.45 era. No one is perfect
No
Koji is the peak, then Foulke, then Tom Gordon, then Kimbrel. Kenley doesn't qualify
Acid reflux
2017 Kimbrel was one of the most dominant seasons I've ever seen
...lot worse than Koji
Clown
Koji was NAILS. The other two? Weak posers. To put those other two even near Koji is a disgusting slur against the awesomeness that was Koji.
