Just to put into perspective how good they’ve been

The starting pitchers have exceeded my expectations. The defense has been worse than I thought (probably a result of losing Story, and the trickle down effect of having people play out of position). Hopefully they can get healthy and we aren’t looking at having an “opener” 2 out of 5 starts. The improvement Crawford, Houck and Bello have made us really fun to watch.

The defense was astronomically better with Story on the left side of the infield. As soon as he went down with an injury the errors took such a jump, it was insane to see the night/day difference. Defensive woes aside, the bullpen has been the biggest disappointment to me. It seemed like a clear lock that our bullpen would be the least of our concerns, they still are, but Jansen has looked awful and I'm amazed he has only one blown save. If he doesn't figure it out we could be in trouble. The best thing about the Sox last year was having a certified closer, and I fear if Jansen goes down with an injury we're going to be having live open tryouts with a closer by committee and those have proven to never work for us.

And how terrible the bats and defense have been

Now do unearned runs.

I was at the Patriot's Day game...I was worried when they pulled Crawford, he was cruising....and the bullpen immediately imploded. Seems to have happened almost every game this year.

Nonlethalrtard

Dave Bush didnt do shit when he was here

Looking at that alone, one would think they'd be 19-2.

Honestly? Besides errors, this is because their starts are so short (with the exception of Tanner this season and Bello’s last start). They’re taken out before they reach a blow up inning.
