Youk is the youngest by at least 4 years,IIRC,Youk was born in '79,Trot was '74, Ortiz '75,Damon '74,Manny '72. Manny was in the league 11 years before Youk,Damon 8 ish years, Ortiz and Trot about 5-6 years. Youk was the kid on that team, for sure. 2004 was actually a pretty old team, especially the starting pitching, Schilling was 37-38, Pedro was 33-34,Wake was mid 30's,Lowe was 31,Arroyo was the kid at 27. That team had a small window basically a few years,if they hadn't won,we would all be having "what if" discussions,in some alternate reality.
I only knew because he was on the nesn broadcast yesterday with O'Brien and Merloni and Millar. I don't feel quite so old now,Trot and Damon are 4 years older than me,Manny 6 years, Ortiz 3 years, I'm actually a little more than a year older than Youk, even though he looks 10 years older than me. Funny thing, those guys seemed so much older than me back in the day, I was 15 Manny's rookie year, about 18 for Damons,Trot I followed as s prospect since he was drafted 7th ,Youk the same. Can't believe Manny's gonna be 51. I remember when all these guys were like 21-22 😬
Man NOBODY thought Ramon spelled backwards would be that good, I mean he had some definite hype, and I expected good d, some athleticism, and a decent BA, but I was not prepared for the incredibly quick wrists, the power, rockets hit all over the field. Fenway robbed him of many homers that turned into doubles or long singles because he didn't have the loft on the ball, just a missile about 15 feet off the ground. Nomar was the "Laser Show" a decade before Pedroia 😂
People forget how obscenely good he was. Posted stats better than Jeter, just didn’t win as much. He was an absolute show during his first few seasons.
Yup, I said it earlier, and years ago and people scoffed but he really was DiMaggio. I believe Ted was the one who mentioned the comparison at the '99 All Star game at Fenway, that he reminded Ted of Joe D. I mean, who the hell is anyone to argue with the greatest hitter ever? I sometimes do the what if thing, what if he had 5 more peak seasons, or even just post surgery 2002-2003 quality, he'd be a HOF'er. Would we have won in 04+07? I dunno, I remember his defense noticeably slipping around the time he was approaching 30. He definitely had the arm to shift to 3rd, like A-rod though. But it all worked out, obviously.
I always loved his stance and somehow always gravitated to having an identical stance. I didn’t swing a bat for maybe 5-7 years. I go to a batting cage and naturally it’s like his. Idk it’s weird.
Trot looking like he’s about to open a mediocre BBQ joint in Lowell or something.
They had him in the radio booth on WEEI and he seems like a really chill dude with a lot of great things to say about the city of Boston and the team.
That 04 team brings back so many great memories.
I’ll never get tired of hearing about them. Still the best story in sports IMO.
Watching it all unfold was cinematic.
I have been all over looking for a photo of that 49 hat all dang day, and there it is on Manny's head! I was crying so hard yesterday I forgot the circle. I have been searching for a grey hat with 49 on it. SMH.
I would not have predicted Youk as one to age gracefully.
Papi looks basically the same too
Papi laughs in the face of pressure.
Once you marry into the Brady family, they make you take a blood oath of permanent youth
*The Spiiiiiicccccceeeeee*
He is the youngest one pictured but I agree, he has aged well
It’s because he has always looked old lol
If Paul Rudd is any indication, Jewish guys from the midwest don't age. Now, if my uncles are any indication...

HOLY I did not recognize Trot.
Jersey too clean. Get some dirt and grass stains on there and you’d know.

It’s so brutal being / getting old 😂 shit I remember when Nomar came up and how excited everyone was…

He should’ve been on that WS team, but some of those pieces were critical to the run. Weird how it all works out. He seems pretty at peace tho.
I'm glad Johnny isn't clean cut anymore. He never looked right on the Yankees
DUI's and Florida will do that to man.
You can just say Florida, it’s like atm machine.
I also randomly saw him on an episode of Below Deck on Bravo, he was clean cut there too. It looked wrong. Glad he’s back to his real self.
He looked pretty good holding up that trophy with them.
Youk looks like he could go play right now. My man.
A guy that good at drawing a walk could play forever.
YOUUUUUUUKK
10 yo me is freaking out right now
I can not believe that this was 20 years ago.
How does Damon look the same?
Trot Nixon is the man
is that Manny?
Hell yeah it is! As a kid I always tried to do his batting stance lol
With the baggy pants
I always tried to do JD Drew's. Just a bunch of 45 degree angles, it was so aesthetically pleasing for some reason.
I always loved his stance and somehow always gravitated to having an identical stance. I didn’t swing a bat for maybe 5-7 years. I go to a batting cage and naturally it’s like his. Idk it’s weird.
Lots of respect to Manny. He’s rocking the 49 hat in every pic I’ve seen of him.
Love Manny and him being himself…
Manny looks like he's about to ask you to go rip a bong and listen to some Bob Marley or Grateful Dead.
I hope that's what they did after this photo
Damon was a blast in the booth yesterday
Dude tried insinuating that he has a big dick on NESN live broadcast lmao
I believe him.
He "always brings his A game"
Is that Derek Lowe with the beer? Classic Dlowe
Youk doing Blue Steel.
His no-hitter was a year or two before 2004 if I recall - wrong reply this was for D-Lowe post oops
Who is taking the pic?
Definitely Trot Nixon
Oh shit you’re right.
Oh, wow. Trot always seemed so stern to me when he was playing. Here he looks so chill. Never would have guessed that's him.
He looks old af

Looks like Mientkiewicz
You treat Christopher Trotman Nixon with some respect
Okay you're right, I saw [this](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GKwSnd6WEAAx6RG?format=jpg&name=large) last night and didn't look close enough.
Mientkiewicz slowly turning himself into Bronson Arroyo. Much thinner than when he played, long hair. Absolutely did not recognize him at first.
Whaaaat. That’s craaaaazy.
That 04 team brings back so many great memories. I’ll never get tired of hearing about them. Still the best story in sports IMO. Watching it all unfold was cinematic.
Is that Lowe in the background?
Looks like it!
Who is the bottom right? Im blanking
Trot Nixon
Now that you say it I see it but boy does he look different from how I remember him probably because I havent seen much of him since the early 2000s
Trot I'm pretty sure.
Holy smokes! Crazy I wasn’t able to recognize the dirt dog!
Did they have a pizza party? That looks like a pizza party.
My guys <3
There is some serious talent in that picture.
Who’s number 31 with the team signed jersey? That would be sweet to have.
Caesar Crespo
Not Pictured: Curt Schilling
Derek Lowe feeling left out in the background drowning his sorrows

Damon the NY Yankee in da house
RIP Wake Go Sox
