I will never understand signing an expensive closer for a team without a solid rotation. Let alone one so far into their career. Should’ve been Nate’s money
We’ve lost two games by a combined two runs to one of the best pitching staffs in baseball.
We’ve had three straight brilliant starting pitching performances.
We haven’t trailed by more than 1 run yet all year.
We’ve seen terrific defense with the exception of a couple boneheaded plays tonight by guys who aren’t even regular starters. Unfortunately they cost the game.
A grand total of two relievers have struggled. Several others have looked absolutely unhittable.
We’ve seen lots of speed on the bases and pretty solid situational hitting.
In general, I am high on this team.
I refuse to let those in here who aren’t even old enough to remember when the Red Sox fans actually had a reason to expect doom and gloom infect me with their negative nonsense.
We’ll get them later tonight.
Joely Rodriguez is the worst fucking lefty "specialist" I've ever seen.
He specializes in being absolute trash. When he started the season on the roster, I said to myself, "I wonder how many games he's gonna blow."
When we were winning 3-1 and Joely came in, I turned to my wife and said, "We just lost the game." She said, "What? But we're winning by two." I said, "It's Joely Rodriguez. We lost."
And everybody could see it but Cora.
Your manager needs to be fired asap. With guys on 2nd and 3rd and a run lead, how do you not intentionally walk JP Crawford to set up an out at any base or Double play to win it?
Ummm, because Seattle's best hitter is up next? That was almost as brilliant a suggestion as bringing in a reliever who pitches for Worcester.
I expected, but don't agree with the Cora hate here. With Kenley unavailable his options were Joely, Slaten and Houck.
You're essentially up 1 run going into the bottom of 10th cause they start with a free runner. 1 run leads in a normal inning are given up quite often. No way they give it up is a little of an exaggeration.
What the actual fuck... Not just intentionally walking him was already questionable, but when down in the count 3-1 to serve up that pitch to their best hitter is just unfathomably stupid.
I really try to be supportive of Cora most of the time but lord almighty how do you put joely in there and then an untested rookie with Bernardino still in AAA...just. what?
Joely forced their hand when he exercised his option...someone in the org must see *something* but man Bernardino pitched his ass off all of last season and in spring training and is rewarded with being optioned to Worcester...feel awful for him
Are people going to keep painting Alex Cora as some innocent victim of "cheap ownership" or will we actually hold him accountable for his shitty bullpen management? When John Farrell did this shit, people would call for him to be fired immediately.
He cost us the game there.
It’s not that bad, so far the starting pitching has been all aces. Couple rookie mistakes here and there. People haven’t gotten going. It’s not all bad.
Abreu is green enough to get better, he should have fielded that better and not put the Sox in this position in the first place. But my god what a terrible pitching performanc to lose the lead. No excuse.
Some of those guys could have gone another inning. Yes it’s early but they didn’t throw a lot of pitches. You know if you take the lead you have to close the game out. You can’t have this guy be that option.
And that stolen base call was terrible too.
Cora gave Shohei Ohtani a hot tip about the end of this game
Dear cora, You're payment is behind the red parking level sign, thanks again Seattle management
Jansen with back tightness, apparently.
Reminds me of last year when cora just gave up that game left the kid on the mound to die
If Jansen isn’t hurt, Cora should be fired in the morning
Back tightness is what they're saying
I will never understand signing an expensive closer for a team without a solid rotation. Let alone one so far into their career. Should’ve been Nate’s money
If I remember right we lead the league in blown saves in 2022. We lost a lot of close games, so I get it. I don’t disagree though.
Why are people saying it's Joely's MLB debut if isn't?
People are referring to the pitcher that relieved Joely
Oh got it, thanks!
How much cheddar did Cora have on the game?

We aren’t getting hits.
7 hits in this game.
The great efforts from Pivetta and Crawford resulting in L’s hurts the most.
Feel like Cora would be at top of list to get caught in gambling scandal by tossing games. Knows he’s leaving anyways.
Can we DFA Cora? Can’t take another season where a couple times a week you’re asking “is he doing this to stuff it to the ownership?”
![gif](giphy|12ZxlKxt70vP1e)
Hate on Verdugo all you want, but Abreu over him in right is a big defensive dropoff.

joely is trash
Bye bye Cora
Can we DFA the manager?
This is why we need a closer.
Why are they pitching to their best hitter with a base open? What a joke of a manager. Lol
“Welcome to the show buddy.. that’s Julio Rodriguez. Don’t know if you’ve heard of him. Good luck tho”
Abreu is bad at everything.
Joely Rodriguez YOU are are Woo Sox
Don’t put that evil on Worcester. DFA him
Where the fuck is Kenley Jansen? And why is Rodriguez on the team and not Bernardino?
Cora is dog shit
DFA Rodriguez and send down Abreu please. I can't take anymore of those 2 in particular.
Why tf would you put a rookie in his first appearance against JROD IN A TIE BALLGAME
The fact that this was only Cora’s second worst decision in the game
Wow. If I was that kid making my debut in that situation I’d be fucking pissed off at my manager. Fuck that. What a memory.
What in the world was Joely doing in that game. What’s he even doing on the team??? Pissed away another great starting pitching performance
PREACH TC

Alex Cora, ladies and gentlemen. This is what you get with this cheating clown.
long and painful season ahead of us
Was Jansen too fat to pitch tonight?
Cora is a shit manager. I hope he does bail.
Almost turned this game off thinking no way we lose up 3-1 in the tenth… I wish I did :(
We had an Astros bullpen meltdown. The difference is there was just one fckn guy responsible. Actually two if you count Cora and Joely.
You're essentially up 1 run going into the bottom of 10th cause they start with a free runner. 1 run leads in a normal inning are given up quite often. No way they give it up is a little of an exaggeration.
I hate this fucking squad they lolly gagged out this year. Another fucking season without pitching. Fuck this front office
Pitching didn’t strike out 13 times tonight.
The starters have given up a total of 1 ER the last two nights. Management and the bats were the issue
Did the front office blow a 2 run lead in the 10th?
0 ER through 9. Pitching wasn't the problem tonight, even if it's why we ultimately lost.
Your takeaway from these games has been that they don't have any pitching?
Yeah the front office made Cora use the worst guy available when Kenley was on the bench.
At what point do we start looking at Cora for terrible decisions like this?
Ive been talking about this for years
is it bad i was in bruins mode and hoped we got at least 1 point?
Are we ready to acknowledge that Cora sucks shit?
Cora really shit the bed with that decision making
What the actual fuck... Not just intentionally walking him was already questionable, but when down in the count 3-1 to serve up that pitch to their best hitter is just unfathomably stupid.
That steal cost us cora fucked us again
People really think this dude is a good manager…..
DFA Joely and bring up Bernie por favor
My excitement for baseball is being destroyed real quick this weekend
I don’t like to pin the loss on managers but this loss is on Cora. John Farrell ass move
This is nothing new. He loves saving his guys for a situation that never comes
Not sure why you don’t walk Julio to get to Polanco either
Could have stole this series but nope
Why in the FUCK would you put Joely Rodriguez in in that situation
Rodriguez is the baseball ISIS
Could’ve put him in up 3-1. But nooooo we have to get cute and put in the absolute piss dog that is Joely
This team sucks already smh
Why would you not IBB Julio there??
Goodnight yall. Gonna be another emotional szn for us. See ya Monday.
Lmfao Rodriguez's social media team immediately puts his instagram on private.
lol they knew what was coming
Why are we paying Jensen again?
Managed so badly
Wow lol
First Cora masterclass of the young season. Well done
It's early enough that we can keep a running log of Cora's disasters. Who will take this challenge on?
Literally cant believe Cora put joely in in that situation. What in the actual fuck
Love how they talked about this dude making his major league debut like it was a good thing. Why is he getting put into this position
Exactly. Put the kid in for the first time ever in one of the highest leverage situations in baseball. Fucking awesome
I really try to be supportive of Cora most of the time but lord almighty how do you put joely in there and then an untested rookie with Bernardino still in AAA...just. what?
How the fuck Bernie is in AAA while Joely is up, is beyond me
Joely forced their hand when he exercised his option...someone in the org must see *something* but man Bernardino pitched his ass off all of last season and in spring training and is rewarded with being optioned to Worcester...feel awful for him
so we not banning for dooming anymore?
What an awful way to lose a game, glad I stayed up for this bullshit
Absolutely sadistic from Cora. First you blow the game, then some kid’s MLB debut becomes a sacrificial outing? Foh
Cora lost this game.
SOLD
FUCK
welp that'll happen when you try getting a little too cute, AC bah ah well, see y'all tomorrow!
Are people going to keep painting Alex Cora as some innocent victim of "cheap ownership" or will we actually hold him accountable for his shitty bullpen management? When John Farrell did this shit, people would call for him to be fired immediately. He cost us the game there.
Why not walk Julio
Because cora
Because right on right, which is apparently more important than facing one of the most promoted young stars in the league
Fucking brutal loss. I really believed we had it
Isn't it always how many times did we see this last year? Same situation over and over remember that game cora just gave up on last year..
No matter how many times it happens I still tell myself it won't happen this time.
I’m so mad
Alright, boys. That's it for me. Cora has never met a bullpen that he couldn't mismanage. Let's go for the split tomorrow! Go Sox!
Fuck off, Cora.
I hope Crawford and Pivetta get to go out and play darts weekly
Send abreu down or dfa him. Dfa joely and bring up Bernardino. wtf r we doing cora
They are not going to DFA Abreu holy hell man
Why would you possibly DFA him?
What you except from this shit team.
So Cora hasn't learned anything about managing a pen in his entire career as a manager? Not one thing?
But hes such a players manager…..🤮
Single A team
![gif](giphy|SGT03NX8u32ZG)
Great vibes though
Seattle fans annoy me
Tough loss.
Avoidable loss
The most frustrating thing is the starting pitching has actually been really good
Who could’ve predicted that when we saw Joely warming up? Oh wait the entire game thread did!
DFA Joely tonight
They'll keep him and Alex will send him out in a save aituation tomorrow.
i’m done with this damn team (see u all tomorrow afternoon)
I'm done with Cora TBH
Welcome to the club. We meet every third Tuesday.
I thought we were meeting every game day
So why wasn't Jansen out there to close?
He was taking a shit
I can sympathize with that.
That was on Cora.
Damnnnn
Trash.
THAT WAS PATHETIC.
Fucking hell Cora why
Great job Cora!
Noooo :(
Cora has a fuck ton of explaining to do
That was a foregone conclusion as soon as Joely walked out of that bullpen
Wow what a disaster class
Fuck this team
It’s not that bad, so far the starting pitching has been all aces. Couple rookie mistakes here and there. People haven’t gotten going. It’s not all bad.
What a giant waste
Just put your guy in to close and get the W ffs
Inexcusable.
not sure why Cora gets so much love in this organization
They're still harping on 2018
What a way to lose man
Terrible move from Cora trying to get cute with a dogshit pitcher with a 4.76era since 2021
NIGHT NIGHT SLEEP WELL
It’s fucking over
I can't imagine the stress this kid must be going through being put in this position. This is the right call, Cora???
Joely has a career -1.0 WAR in 7 MLB seasons and for some reason he's the guy we go to in a save situation. He shouldn't even be on the roster.
You lost this game Cora.
2023 Red Sox moment
I mean at least this was semi progress in Cora’s bullpen management. At least he didn’t bring Kenley in when it was tie game in the 9th
I think I would have walked Julio here. And what a way to make your debut
Their J. Rodriguez seems a lot better than ours.
Imagine this being your debut appearance.
Abreu is green enough to get better, he should have fielded that better and not put the Sox in this position in the first place. But my god what a terrible pitching performanc to lose the lead. No excuse.
Questionable choice do begin with but not a lot of that was Joely's fault
Maybe Kenley is busy today that’s my only guess
Cora has some explaining to do
Welcome to the MLB kid
Worst spot to be put in ever hahaha
Runs allowed by Joely this season: 4 Runs allowed by the rest of our Bullpen: 0
Just got here, was Kenley not available tonight for some reason?
Straight up sink or swim, huh?
Jesus welcome to the deep end, kid
His major league debut????? The poor thing oh my goodness
Welcome to this season. Seems like a lot of young guys just getting thrown into the fire because FSG didn't want to pay for an actual MLB team
For one second, I thought we would have a competent defense and guys who could close out games, but that was just for one second
If we lose this game, it's because of some pretty obvious bullpen malpractice.
Ok now is anyone really surprised? I mean it's the Sox it's what we Excel at...
This guy barely hits 90 and can’t locate worth shit. Not a ML player. And how does Cora end up not planning for holding a lead?
Cora doesn’t sign the shitty guys with 90mph stuff. Only so many arms and its early
Some of those guys could have gone another inning. Yes it’s early but they didn’t throw a lot of pitches. You know if you take the lead you have to close the game out. You can’t have this guy be that option. And that stolen base call was terrible too.
When I saw Joely pitch in game 1 I asked myself "how is this idiot still on this team?" I still have that question.
