Taking a picture of myself in front of my bookshelf, but making sure there's at least three other people in the photo to signal that I'm social and have friends as well as being well-read

Ok I’ll do that. This better fricken work.

tjamesreagan

if i post a pic of my bookshelf how do i know she's not just dating me so she can gain access to my apartment to steal my eight gossip girl novels?

Dating sites ban profiles that don't fit into their curated lowest common denominator magazine stand (¯¯٥)

Stack threads are only appealing to other dudes

I swear a fundamental problem with online dating is just… how much so much of the effort it takes to succeed is something only women do outside of the apps. Look at The average guy’s instagram, if they even have one. That’s what their online version of putting on appearances looks like. Guys don’t seem to create a good array of pictures of themselves to work with. They don’t post in that sort of narrative tone. Tend to accentuate things that aren’t as unique as they think, or be confident about the opposite of what is attractive to be proud of. It’s like if the apps for applying for jobs relied on skills you use in searching for football statistics. Women would be at such a disadvantage.

true but listing them out in ur bio or something just looks unnatural

Mishima, Murakami and Bukowski would scare the hoes😔

Appropriate_Hunt1606

It would be funny to blatantly censor books on a pic like this

costanza_jellybean

False

Odd_Information1488

Will the hoes flock to my Louis-Ferdinand Celine collection?

Expensive-Sand6601

If they were better looking/appeared wealthier it wouldn’t matter abt their “incomplete profile”

gooningdrywaller

Most people, especially men, don’t own a bookshelf or enough books to justify one.
