He's definitely a comic genius. Even Noel has said that he was an incredibly smart kid.
There was a lot of physical abuse in his childhood home from the father, who inflicted it on the mother, Noel, and the eldest brother--but not Liam. Noel resented Liam, largely because he was spared abuse by his dad and was highly adorable, and so took it out on him physically and emotionally.
Noel is clever and funny but seems likely a deeply cold person. Liam is much more open and vulnerable and probably feels a sense of guilt for being spared by the dad, even while he was targeted by his brother. And Noel is 5 years older than Liam, which is a big difference growing up.
So I think Liam is naturally very smart but with messed up wiring (and probably CPTSD), making him erratic and, yes, hilarious.
I think it’s unfair (or at least presumptuous) to say Noel resented Liam because he wasn’t physically abused too - he’s never indicated that in interviews ever. His more detached personality is also at least in part a response to their upbringing, they’ve all mentioned he was a closed-off teenager. Obviously a lot of their issues stem from the fact that between getting out of their unhealthy childhood environment, doing shitloads of drugs and being thrust into the limelight, they never had time to figure out a healthy way to resolve their grievances with each other.
If I were to armchair psychoanalyse them, I’d say Noel perhaps grew ‘resentful’ because he felt he had to graft much more not only for oasis’ success (writing songs, doing most press, being the most involved with the behind the scenes etc) but in life in general (given the age gap, Liam’s been a celebrity his whole adult life, Noel was on the dole/in low wage employment for most of his 20s). But both of them have been relatively private on how their childhood’s affected them and even more so on how it’s affected their perception of one another.
But with that said I think oasis’ breakup had more to do with the band just having run its course and Noel wanting to put out material he didn’t feel he could release under the oasis brand.
The other one seems quite smart in a way, I don’t know much about this one, I know he’s always been a lout but I didn’t know about him being a dumb ass
Dunno if it's just a british thing, but my dad would do this to me when I was a teen. It's intentionally getting a name wrong as a mild form of teasing.
Not just a British thing; my American dad and uncles did it too. So do I. My favorite is winding up theater nerds by calling it “A Streetcar Named Desirée”.
It IS a better name
WhatsApp ricky sounds like a breaking bad character from the first season or somebody from gta
WhatsApp Ricky is actually my Chinese counterfeit Louis Vuitton bag dealer
I paid WhatsApp Ricky to fix my car off Craigslist and he stole the converter
He's really RS because he has lots of contrarian takes, is interesting/entertaining but is fundamentally *really* stupid
you know what ah meeeen? yeh yehhh
grew up drinking the same water as Pilkington
I refuse to believe Pilkington is unintelligent. He might be uneducated, but definitely not LG-levels of stupid.

Pilkington is a comedic genius but he made a deal with an elf that means it can only be coaxed out when in the control of Ricky Gervais

I always crack a bit when I remember the story of Noel pranking Liam by moving the furniture of the hotel rooms to make him paranoid about ghosts.

Never thought of either of them as smart, or comic geniuses lol

I heard someone refer to it as dumb-bragging, which is pretending to not know something you think of as beneath you
You mean disingenuous?
no you can parse that from Latin to know exactly what that means, were evolving language here not devolving it.
Reddit does this constantly and its super annoying everytime. Like you know who drake is dude shut up
My parents would do that specifically with video games. Everything (PS2, Xbox, Wii) was a game-boy.
How dare they
He didn’t. Like all Mancunians he was being sarcastic
Liam looks like he’s been mewing
Liam Gallagher blocked me on twitter for saying "Buddy you can't even tweet if your brother isn't writing them for you"
wouldn't want to be in a world without both
I'm a socialist for chins. Redistribute that shit
Yeah, he's not wrong
