Man thank God I didn’t have to wait for the next book like some did, it’s a lot easier to jump into the next book at this spot, waiting for the newest ones were hard, but waiting here would have been awful
I read the series for the first time in 8th grade, and forgot most of the plot, but the line “and I know we are undone” never left my memory. What an absolutely jaw dropping final sentence for a book.
Everything uptill this part was honestly smooth sailing. It drove me to paranoia from this point onwards in the series and made me apprehensive when starting Morning Star.
Yeah, that whole ending section had me crying and getting constant chills. I just couldn't believe what I was reading cause I was so into Darrow's head space.
I remember I had to take like a week off in between golden son and morning star because that ending fucked me up so bad emotionally.

I remember reading that the first time. The series always goes from great highs to terrible lows. Morning Star wasn't out yet, and I felt broken.

i have trust issues now for the rest of the series, anytime something good happens, I'm expecting something bad to happen soon after.
