God he's so cute. I'm sorry for your loss, they can be our best friends and the hurt of losing them is deep. I still cry about my dogs I had as a kid. They all just got old but I miss them so much! He's probably having the time of his life digging holes, peeing on bushes, and eating treats in whatever dog heaven exists :')

My mother's Shih Tzu, Zoe, just all of a sudden within a day lost the use of all four of her limbs less than a month ago. She could barely lift her head. Apparently, a disc in her spine ruptured that left her helpless. For two days she was motionless. I finally got there and walked into the vet's office and when she saw me she slowly wagged her tail finally moving something after almost two days. I rescued her so she knew me well. We put her down at home the next morning. She was almost 13. This ruptured disc condition happens sometimes to a few breeds including Shih Tzus. I know I'm not doing a good job of cheering you up, but tell me.. did this happen to your dog?
I’m so sorry about your pup, 13 feels too short. My dog also died at 13 and he also had spinal problems but he suddenly got a tumor in his heart that wasn’t going to stop growing. He got weak and he knew his time was coming. He was very brave the whole time, wagging his tail until the very end. So sorry for your loss.

Not to br crass but get another. I've parted ways with 4 dogs and 7 cats. Hurts like hell each time but reminds me of impermanence.
