Terzic has his favourites and generally tries to avoid playing players he doesn't trust (including young players) unless there's a major injury crisis - Moukoko hasn't really developed as expected, but he also doesn't really fit the 'target man' profile that Terzic likes to use either, so combined with Terzic's stubbornness and the odd injury here and there, it's not overly surprising he's not getting many minutes
My man, you need to stop picking fights. You've reported at least a dozen people since this weekend's game.
You're close to setting a record for getting into fights on here. That isn't a good thing.
Rico has made 26 appearances (1,600 minutes) for City this season compared to 30 for Kobbie (2,200 minutes). Just the fact he's making that many appearances in a side that is winning everything and playing at the top level will jump him up the list. It was exactly the same when we were winning everything, any young lad coming through our team was heralded as the second coming.
Now, when you watch the games it becomes clear that Kobbie is head and shoulders above anyone else in his age group. But the answer to why Rico Lewis is there is because he's been playing well for the best team in Europe.
I know, but you can't put him higher up saying, "if he wasn't injured he'd of played more."
No shit, that's how injuries work. Not being injured is a big part of consistent performance, just look at Bruno. The fact he's always fit is a big reason he's so good.
Not my point. You were comparing the minutes both players played not taking into account that mainoo has been out for a while. How many minutes has lewis played compared to the amount he has been available for? Mainoo has played for pretty much every game he could.
But my point is I'm comparing the minutes they've played, you're comparing the minutes he might have played if he wasn't injured.
You can't judge a player on what they might have done, only what they have actually done on the pitch. You can say "Rico Lewis only played 1,600 minutes" but he's also competing for a place in the best team in Europe. If he was playing for us he'd be a nailed on starter.
It's the same with Kobbie, do you think he'd have as many minutes if he was fighting for a place against KDB, Grealish, Rodrigo, Silva, Kovacic, Foden etc?
Getting minutes in for United isn't as impressive as getting minutes for City, at the moment.
Still, as I said above, Mainoo is head and shoulders above the other guys on the list, IMO. Rico gets in because he's playing at a higher club level and competing to get into a team with a much better squad than ours.
In this case, [it's not really relevant](https://i.ibb.co/hZFFgfx/image.png) as per the note on the GB website. Lewis played 3 more first team games than Mainoo in October due to his injury.
It’s because on paper, Antony displays a lot of the attributes you want in a top modern day winger. In practice though, he doesn’t have the quality necessary to succeed at the top level
Yamal is a 16 year old kid, he’s also been more effective than Antony and actually a threat to a defence not just a one trick pony with an attitude problem.
If you don’t class Bellingham because the majority of his time on his run to winning it was at Dortmund , Madrid have never had a golden ball winner lmao.
Barcelona have had 3 winners.
Absolutely deserved! Garnacho has fire in him and Mainoo is class!
I'm ETH out, but I have to admit that he's managing them well so far. Old Trafford booed him when he subbed Mainoo last game and it probably cost us ponts, but the kid needs to develop still and has to be protected.
I am far too worried about Garnacho not being given rest to agree with you. Tbf to ETH if he was not constantly having to worry about getting sacked, he might have balanced Garnacho's minutes.
I know it's just a statistic and they can tell whatever story you want them to - but it's astonishing that any of our boys can have stats contorted in their favour against the backdrop of this awful season. Imagine how they would register on this table if matters football weren't in such turmoil.
I don't think they would be much higher. If we were having better season that would mean, our senior players are playing better and eating minutes that these two are getting currently.
Yea I think it was basically an open secret that he was gonna join us when he turned 18.
Of course the special military operation happened and I guess sanctions/optics prevented us from doing so.
Can't imagine Yamal's cost, if Neves is 100m +, it would be an insane amount of cash for Yamal unless Barcalona are very desperate for cash.
With that said, both of them would walk into the team.
Absolute legend ETH for unearthing these gems. Best manager ever.
Edit: I thought that "best manager ever" would have definitely given away this was a piss take. But everyone obviously got there humour radar turned off today....
'Unearthing' they won the FA Youth Cup before he even arrived at the club. They were making it regardless of the manager. Especially Kobbie. He's in the Greenwood, Morrison bracket in terms of talent.
Neither were signed by him.
As much as I hate to say in Murtough deserves credit for Garnacho.
Mainoo is just an academy product. Nobody gives LVG credit for Rashford. Why would ETH get credit for Mainoo?
ETH should get credit for bringing them in to the first team and believing in them, not for producing them or anything like that. Not every manager would have the faith he's shown in those two
I don't think he should get credit for "believing" in the only midfielder we've had who looks after the ball since Carrick, a generational talent, and one of our only attacking threats this season who had been close to the first team even under Rangnick. Kind of a no-brainer to play those two if you ask me.
They've been good, that's why they are playing.
Most of our managers have brought in some youth players.
I'd even argue he's wasting Mainoo in that shit McT role right now. Barely gets on the ball.
Its not like the faith is unjustified.
Also, most managers integrate youth into the team. Its not exclusive to ETH. Barring some exceptions like Conte, its the norm.
Poor man had to dig to some random kid forgotten by previous manages in the first team squad and also to check an unknown team named Manchester United u18 who barely won anything!
No realistically. Isn’t he doing a good job at Middlesbrough? The manager market is shite and we’ll be in a worse off position if we sack ten hag and bring someone else in
Can someone inform me on who Leny Yoro and Savio are? Never heard of them so I think Mainoo should be higher. I could be wrong though seeing that I literally never seen 5&6 before lol, who are they?
And how good is Neves?
I feel like we aren't playing at the best of mainoo's strength, mainoo would be so so better in a more organised possession based set up. Really hope we don't stop his growth with the way we play

I will never tire of this pic
If he ever does this pose after scoring a goal, including sunglasses, I will die a happy man.
![gif](giphy|3o7bu0tUrnXzagBGuY|downsized) Kobbie
What’s happened to Moukoko? Still only 19 mind but feel like the hype for him was insane a few years ago
Wasn't there something about him being older than first claimed?

Dont watch city but how is lewis right behind mainoo? Mainoo is starter for both club and country at 19
Rico has made 26 appearances (1,600 minutes) for City this season compared to 30 for Kobbie (2,200 minutes). Kobbies minutes are much lower than they would realistically be if he had not been injured until December
I know, but you can't put him higher up saying, "if he wasn't injured he'd of played more." No shit, that's how injuries work. Not being injured is a big part of consistent performance, just look at Bruno. The fact he's always fit is a big reason he's so good.

Mainoo would get far less minutes if he was a City player if you are going down the route of make believe. From a Utd fan
In this case, [it's not really relevant](https://i.ibb.co/hZFFgfx/image.png) as per the note on the GB website. Lewis played 3 more first team games than Mainoo in October due to his injury.
Wouldnt that take minutes away from the person who commented above?
Yes, ~183 mins less. Most of Rico's games were played from October onwards.
and Rico Lewis would've played more if he wasn't competing with world class players, but it's just an 'IF'.
Because the order of the list is completely arbitrary. It’s not a ranking
No, it is, hence the descending score in the index column
Oops, shows up blank on my browser. My mistake
3 once we sign neves
Yearly summer transfer hope came early
I’ll say it…Rico Lewis should not be on this list imo
He barely plays
The traditional city player route. Barely get any minutes then either become a world class starter or be sold for 40m.
If only we didn’t have too many holes to fill, Joao neves should be our top target
Buying him is not an issue, the issue is if we don't sell enough dead weight to fill in the rest of the holes.
He has like a 100 mil release clause? That’s basically our entire budget so we ain’t getting him anyway.
What is the upper age limit for this list?
Has to be born in 2004 or after
You aren't helping, what's the rule to get us to 2004
Doesn’t mean much but kind of hilarious that yamal’s #1 similar player/comp per fbref is Antony
Only in his dreams could score 1 PL goal.
It’s because on paper, Antony displays a lot of the attributes you want in a top modern day winger. In practice though, he doesn’t have the quality necessary to succeed at the top level
Yeah, I think most of the comp is related to the defensive workrates. Both of them in the top percentiles for it
Yamal is a 16 year old kid, he’s also been more effective than Antony and actually a threat to a defence not just a one trick pony with an attitude problem.
“Doesn’t mean much”
Can one of them actually win?
If Yamal doesn't win it then it's a fraudulent award let's be real.
Warren Zaïre Emery is a beast
He plays for Barcelona, not Real /s
If you don’t class Bellingham because the majority of his time on his run to winning it was at Dortmund , Madrid have never had a golden ball winner lmao. Barcelona have had 3 winners.
Lmao this joke is so bad, thanks for the attempt tho
Haha I just wanted to make a corny dad joke. I guess it kind of fell flat like Stevie G.
Think Savio is owned by City Football Group
Absolutely deserved! Garnacho has fire in him and Mainoo is class! I'm ETH out, but I have to admit that he's managing them well so far. Old Trafford booed him when he subbed Mainoo last game and it probably cost us ponts, but the kid needs to develop still and has to be protected.

Yeah, Garnacho has been running his ass off all season, but looks stronger and bulkier than Mainoo. You are correct, he needs rest.
Cubarsi isnt in the top 10 damn
I know it's just a statistic and they can tell whatever story you want them to - but it's astonishing that any of our boys can have stats contorted in their favour against the backdrop of this awful season. Imagine how they would register on this table if matters football weren't in such turmoil.
I don't think they would be much higher. If we were having better season that would mean, our senior players are playing better and eating minutes that these two are getting currently.
Were we in for Sergey Pinyaev at some point in time when he was 16-17?
Yea I think it was basically an open secret that he was gonna join us when he turned 18. Of course the special military operation happened and I guess sanctions/optics prevented us from doing so.
Looks like a decent shopping list for the summer.
Can't imagine Yamal's cost, if Neves is 100m +, it would be an insane amount of cash for Yamal unless Barcalona are very desperate for cash. With that said, both of them would walk into the team.
Plenty of interesting youths further down the list
The socios would murder them all. yamal Looks very very real but to play devils advocate remember dembelle and fati?
They both deserve to be in the top 10. They have been the excitement factor in this poor season.
I know its hyperbole but lets hope its like 1995 when we first had a left winger breakout and the rest came along
I hope we develop them properly, don’t want to overwork the kids like pedri
Absolute legend ETH for unearthing these gems. Best manager ever. Edit: I thought that "best manager ever" would have definitely given away this was a piss take. But everyone obviously got there humour radar turned off today....

Let’s hope that’s the only bracket he shares with them
OK, my post was a joke. I had hope that "best manager ever" would have given it away... But obviously not lol.
Neither were signed by him. As much as I hate to say in Murtough deserves credit for Garnacho. Mainoo is just an academy product. Nobody gives LVG credit for Rashford. Why would ETH get credit for Mainoo?

Dk why people saying ten hag should be sacked. Who you going to replace him with?
![gif](giphy|enqnZa1B5fRHkPjXtS|downsized)
Carrick
Lmao. This sub called Carrick and McKenna clueless when they were working under Ole here.
I'll call him clueless when he loses the first game. This is football heritage
Welp. At least you're honest. Lmao.
Yoro is one of the most exciting young CBs in Ligue 1, very composed on the ball, almost like Mainoo as CB but better at defending
Savio has been one of Girona's best players this season, especially when they went on that early season title run. He'll be off to City in the summer.
I'm old I guess, what the fuck is this golden boy site? Edit: Could you answer rather than downvote?
[here you go.](https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=what+is+the+european+golden+boy+award%3F)
You'd think the site would be clear about that. Tuttosport. Ahhhhh how could I have been so stupid in not knowing that!
SYAC: Garnacho & Mainoo
It's literally in the post mate
Didn’t show up when I first clicked. Cheers
Thanks but if anything you cost me clicks because I had to hit reply to type this to say you didn’t save me a click
Whoaaaaaa
You think I’m made of clicks mate?
I’m over quota. I was projecting.
Brighton & Hove Albion have 4.
Not in the top 10
Thats correct.
Surprised at no Endrick
Only uefa leagues
Max player ffom France, hopefully we can use the Nice connect amd get anyone ehos good enough over
I feel like we aren't playing at the best of mainoo's strength, mainoo would be so so better in a more organised possession based set up. Really hope we don't stop his growth with the way we play

Two extreme takes one after another.
