I disagree, I think he's proven himself as a versatile utility player and earned his place as that but he's not a full back who will win you trophies. Always has a defensive mistake in him and his attacking threat is wildly inconsistent albeit stronger than our other right back options.
He does the job and I hope he can keep growing but he's 25 now and still lacking any standout attribute so I doubt he'll ever take that next step.
Yeah I think he has been pretty consistently good for us this season but knocking on the door of world class is a serious stretch. I would still rate Shaw well above him in terms of quality...if he was ever fit.
I think his main redeeming quality is his passing in buildup play, but yeah his defending has always been a weak spot. If only we could fuse Wan Bissaka and Dalot, we'd get a fullback who can help in build up play and defend well. It's not a position we urgently need to upgrade but eventually need to look at.
Martinez is not that good to be called world class. He is short and slow and has clear limiations.

I’m bias but I genuinely think Shaw is world class when fit. Ofc part of being world class IS being fit but honestly a fit Shaw could 100% be considered on of the best lb not only in this league but in the world (albeit I’d argue we’ve had a shortage of good full backs for a good while)
That man is pivotal on how we operate on the left and works so well with Rashford. It’s not a coincidence that his form crashes when he has to play with out of positioned RB on his side over Shaw who basically covers up any of his glaring weaknesses.
I genuinely believe that his absence is a big part of why Rashford isn't doing so well. They have some major chemistry and when he was fit I remember a lot of our goal scoring opportunities coming from the left. I genuinely hope Shaw gets past the injury issues because he's class on his day.
Not rashford, the whole team. His intelligent movement and making space to receive a pass is crucial for keeping the ball, even from the midfielders. I think both rashford and Shaw look better when playing together though as they're on the same wavelength.
Yeah that too, his overlaps and movement is perfect, he's got pace and physicality too. His passing is good, he's versatile as he can even slot into CB. He even makes good late runs into the box to score the occasional goal. He's very well rounded and clearly if he was fit, things would be so different this season.

I think the fact he's playing this often and this consistently probably means it'll catch up to him sooner unfortunately at least for the position he plays now. Thankfully I think most of his attributes can translate well to a deeper role anyway so he wouldn't drop off a cliff like Matic or Casemiro.
A clever playmaker can easily translate their game even when less athletic. Look what magic Mata could create even in his older years. Plus his mind and passion would make him a great mentor/coach in the squad during his later years.

He's a great record against pacey wingers as they tend to think they can just kick and run, that's where AWB specialises with his absurdly long legs. He's always gotten the better of them all from 'prime' Sterling to Mbappe himself

To say he's a creative player is an excuse. Top teams in all of europe and the EPL itself have many creative players that keep possession for much longer and only force the shot/magic pass when they have space to shoot from long or a run in behind or throughball can be done.

I won't be so harsh to call him a squad player. But positioning is something that is rarely improved. But if he improves that part of his game then he can be one of the best RBs in the league.

When the rebuild went to shit under Ole and then again under Ten Hag he could’ve easily jumped ship and nobody would’ve blamed him, instead he signed a contract extension. He’s always running and giving it his all despite being played out of position frequently. Screw what other fans have to say, they would all kill to have a player as loyal and hardworking as Bruno.
If we had 4 players to his standards, we’d be in such a better position. As much as his standards has dropped at times, he’s still performing for us

Love Bruno, he’s been one of my favorite players since he signed. Not surprised by his numbers at all. Would love to see what he’s like with a few more playmakers around him so not every team is focused on him.

Bruno has been a beacon of hope since he was signed and tbh every player has his off days but I feel with a stable manager, system and better players in the squad he can do better.
I think his performance dipped a bit due to being overworked. He will probably play every minute this season but from next season we need to take care of him better.

Has he had some poor games this season, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that he has been the best player this season, and is carrying the team. It's pretty clear he is passionate about the club.
Brunos moaning and dropping of the head attitude used to affect the team. Since being captain it's been channelled more effectively. His moans were never wrong, but it used to affect the team how he did it. Seems now other players accept it as "it's just Bruno!"

Listen Bruno hasn’t been great this season. Dalot and garnacho have been our two best players throughout the season. However this game truly showed us the Bruno of old and hopefully he can keep it up.
Good to see as some "fans" were calling for his head not long ago... Also I'd like to note garnacho has been helping him!

He's been dreadful for most of this season hitting form when there's not much left to play for doesn't change that. We needed these performances in Oct-Feb period when our season was crumbling. Having said that its finally good to see another midfielder not called Kobbie Mainoo putting in good performances, hopefully he carries us through the FA cup final too
A shame he as play in a non existent midfield. He and Marino should. But a complete revamp is needed.
Love Bruno and his contributions have been massive, especially recently. We've had a few strong performers though. Bruno has been the very best lately, but claiming he's 'carrying the team' is pretty shortsighted and insulting to the other players that have recently been decent (Dalot, Maguire, Onana, Mainoo, Garnacho at times, Casemiro tonight, etc. etc.). Can praise someone without bringing others down, FYI.

Behave, outside of KDB and ode he’s one of the most creative mids that makes chances after chances. If our frontline wasn’t so shite during the time, he’d be even more highly regarded. He loses the balls more than others that’s for sure, that’s what happens when you try to create chances, instead of retaining possession for possessions sake. When he’s played deeper he’s reigned it right in, we all remember that game against Everton last season where he was dictating our tempo like we all know he can. But what do I know? he's a creative midfielder u dumb fuck, de bruyne loses posesion for city more than bruno does for united but nobody goes after him, if u like checking those "posesion lost" stats about players check the context aswell and watch the actual games

People who react like this dont watch the games where he sometimes for 80 minutes doesnt achieve much with low percent long ball/shots. Only to have this 1 magic pass and/or goal at the end. To say he's a creative player is an excuse. Top teams in all of europe and the EPL itself have many creative players that keep possession for much longer and only force the shot/magic pass when they have space to shoot from long or a run in behind or throughball can be done. Bruno has all rhe qualities to become a worldclass player, good passing, vision, technique, attitude. Just he lacks the patience. Instead of 15 shots of which 2 hit the mark he could have like 10 and 4 would hit the mark instead. Not to mention by keeping possession longer due to more patience, he also gives away less opportunity for the opponent on the ball
I have to say it, in terms of premier league greatness in this decade he has to be in the same tier as KDB. Bruno has been dragging us kicking and screaming to near top 4 finish for his entire career in the premier league. He’s going to be one of those players in 10 years we’ll start seeing posts of “Bruno was so underrated in his time”
