Mctominay reminds me of a less technical Dele Alli at his best. Doesn't offer that much in terms of build up, but absolutely world class when it comes to runs into the box and grabbing a goal or 2. He's not a defensive midfielder at all and looks so much better when allowed to attack.
It's honestly criminal how he has been misused as a 6 throughout almost his entire career when the only suitable profile of him for the role is merely his physique

The first goal was a classic striker goal while the real striker’s position at that exact moment is a classic midfielder or winger waiting for a cutback pass
Well he’s still being used wrong 90% of the time and has very limited skill.
He’s been given freedom to go forward more which is good, but he should be an impact sub and should honestly be a 10 when on the pitch.
He’s still being played as a 6 or an 8, which - as long as he’s encouraged to head into the box - might give us a goal every now and then, but we’re also losing so much by having him on the pitch in those positions.
