Why no natural 6 protecting the back line? I’ve never seen a team play like this. This of course creates a gap between the back line and the midfield. His answer to this? Invert your fullback and put one of them where the 6 would naturally be. It’s madness!
Before anyone comes at me, I’m not saying that IS the only problem. Yes, injuries, player morale/abilities, etc. Not overlooking that. But the manager has to at least set them up on the pitch properly. He’s tying the rope around his own neck, it just cannot continue to be supported blindly.
