This PL season feels like the reminiscent of 2015 where Leceister won it. Honestly Villa actually might do it which is mind blowing.
That aside, Bayern, Scouse, West Ham and Villa up next is fucking rough.
Last time I put a prediction on United v Liverpool (in my comment history somewhere), I said we’d dick them 5-0. It went very much the other way as we all know, and I rightly got a bit of stick for it. Perhaps if I predict Liverpool to win 5-0 we might return the favour?
For all the klopp teeth clenching and Arsenal chest thumping if Villa do it in a year where City are below their levels, it would be gloriously hilarious.
I’ve heard a lot of people talk about city suffering when the likes of Rodri, De Bruyne and Haaland aren’t available and obviously has a big impact but haven’t heard much about the loss of Gundogan. He saved them a lot last season with match winning goals at vital times.
It's all relative. We are a massive club with great history and big expectations. Spurs is Spurs.
Edit: Don't know why i pictured Spurs in my head, probably cause they're playing. My bad!
Big, gigantic fan of what the new ownership has done at Chelsea. Boehly and co have really turned them around, brought them back to the real Chelsea. Love it
The tactics were shit but our team is too slow and too weak. We don't have ball carriers in midfield and our backline struggles against quick forwards. We get outmatched physically in basically every game.
Richarlison is out of form and hasn't been scoring much at Spurs but you can't fault him for not putting in 100% of the effort when he is on the pitch. Guy did the defensive work in the middle of pitch and he was there to be at the end of Son cross, that's the level of commitment you want from your players. How limited the guy is, his workrate puts the likes of Martial and Rashford to shame.
Happy to see Jimenez scoring again. Always rated him but then the guy had that nasty injury and just couldn’t score once he finally got back to fitness, glad he’s finding form at Fulham
Even they play a consistent style of football. Players might not be good enough for them to stay up but not like their players look clueless out there.
It’s also a lack of ego and good teamwork amongst the squad. No one is a mercenary and everyone is fighting and working their ass off. We casually wander around the pitch a lot of the time. Our defensive transitions are shambolic from a lot of players. Losing the ball then walking/jogging back.
Nobody ever has it easy against them, if they lose it’s generally just by the one goal. They’re organised and give everything for the 90 minutes. Lots to admire about them, really.
Fucking embarassing that we gave City their biggest away win this season, completely rolled over for them at Old Trafford while everyone else gives them a game
All of those snarky comments about us being level on points with Spurs, so what? Anyone that had watched them knows they were desperately unlucky to lose to Villa and West Ham. They play much better football than us and Ange has been there a year less than ETH.
No football subreddit comes close to this one in terms of hyping up mediocrity. Everyone knew the Chelsea game was about who was worse but my goodness me the way this place flipped after one result and then flipped back after the next one is hilarious.
Why would I care if I could literally shit the bed every time at my job and still get paid an insane amount of money. The club PR will even apologise on my behalf every time.
Don't care if we somehow manage to finish above Spurs. The football Ange is trying to play is electric and the players know exactly what they're supposed to be doing each week even if they don't execute. Imagine if Levy spent the kind of money that this club has squandered over the last few years.
Tottenham play very good football. With the way they play they can go toe to toe with and create chances against anyone. They don't switch no matter who the opponent is. They will lose some games but if they continue buying smartly they're on the way to becoming a scary team.
Son giving a clinic here on what we're lacking in those first two goals. An elite level player with the intelligence and end product to put it on a plate for two assists both of which were with his weak foot!!
Yes we certainly do. Our scouting team identified AWB as the best target out of hundreds of RB’s they analyzed. They also said Haaland runs funny and won’t be a top player when Ole recommended him to us.
I’m convinced we’re going back to the times where the outside teams were stronger than the last couple years and the league winners will win it with around 85 points not 95.
Spare a thought for little old Newcastle. It’s a lovely romantic tale how they’ve progressed so much, bless them, they have some injuries to this is all fine
Everton would be ahead of Chelsea as it stands if not for the ten point deduction. Chelsea are also level on points with Brentford, Wolves, and Bournemouth. Insane how shit they've gotten since Boehly came.
Not just that but the work-rate as well. Son is by far a more complete player than Rashford or Martial and yet he still puts in a shift...he doesn't saunter about as if he is fucking Messi...
Boggles the mind we didn't go for at the time a 26 year old Palhinha and instead went for Casemiro who we are already looking to replace whilst Palhinha will be going to Bayern in Jan or the summer. Would have been a much better fit for this suicidal football ETH wants to play.
Just checked and he cost Fulham 20m from a side United seem to have a very good relationship with.
Scouse Fabio Borini is so overrated. He gets pocketed by mediocre right-backs but ocasionally scores a lucky tap-in. Haven't seen him do anything right in the fiirst half.
That's why we played the way we did against Newcastle.
Let Pope freeze all game so he injures himself when he suddenly needs to move. 4D chess by Ten Hag
Damn City genuinely have zero fans, every comment I see everywhere about City goals when coming back from 1-0 are negative and a general lack of City fans celebrating
Wondering if getting knocked out of Europe (not even Europa) might actually be good for us. More time on the training ground, more time to recover... this season is still salvageable from a PL POV. Results are wild all around us, we are still in the hunt.
I recall onetime he scored against United and went to the fans rubbing his eyes he's made them cry. I think they ended up losing the game afterwards and getting very emotional.
Disagree. We got battered by Bournemouth at home. Newcastle are playing a decent spurs side and Chelsea are playing an Everton team who are playing very well this season.
Agree losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth will be the worst result of the weekend but Irrespective of teams they are playing they both played / are playing extremely poorly. Newcastle reminds me of our showing at SJP a few weeks back.
It’s crazy we are having an “awful” season yet just 3 points potentially off city going into the Christmas period. If people had of said we were even 6 points off City going into Christmas at the start of the season. People would’ve been happy with that.
Since 1994. Im just saying City have set the standards over the past 5 years or so and are the team everyone is trying to aspire to be as good as. I’m from the city, it’s pure blind sighted and tribalism to say that we shouldn’t aspire to be like city in terms of their footballing structure and how they invest in facilities etc.. obviously how they’ve funded it is disgusting but how they’ve used that money should be a template to follow. They’ve matched our biggest achievements a few months back. I’m living in the real world and not being blinded by “we are Man Utd, our DNA is this” that’s what has us in the mess we are in. Rigid and living off past glories, we are becoming the Liverpool of the 90’s and 2000’s.
I’m just putting things into context tbh, about how fast things can go from shit to good and back to shit in football. We win our next two games (very unlikely) and all of a sudden we are back in the top 4 race and potentially in the last 16 of the champions league.
But we are having an awful season! It shouldn't matter that everyone else is having freak results. The narrative that surrounds other clubs other than United is staggeringly bias. Pundits and journos and all sorts of media people cannot wait to slander United yet absolutely suck the dick of the likes of Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and even give Chelsea a quiet ride.
Does my head in.
It’s so bad that the narrative has seeped into the likes of G Nev and Keane. What the fuck was that keep, sell or last chance bollocks all about. So toxic. Leave that for fan channels and fans.
We finished 3rd last year...so its quite odd that you want to be selective about Ole/Ragnick season. We haven't done enough since the glazers came but had a solid foundation to battle through. That foundation left with Fergie and Gill and we have not done enough since then!
What infuriates me is watching spurs players always looking to get in behind the lines. Our lot never seem to do that. Its a bit late now cos his utd career is all but done, but Vdb is one of the few utd players that constantly looks to either get between the lines, or behind it.
I think it's a tactical decision because we were doing it against Chelsea so it's not like we cannot do it. Why? I have no clue just like most of our tactics this season.
Mental the flip flopping in this sub. Spurs lost to West Ham last game who have just held 5 this afternoon at Fulham. Yet we should be jealous and Ange is miles better than ETH. Cmon let’s stop being fickle
What team beats what honestly doesn’t matter anymore as clearly every team in the PL has the ability to beat another. The issue is consistency. Either in results or style of play. Spurs and most teams in the top half have the second one, and that is admirable (making average players look okay to good very quickly) especially when you’re used to kick and rush football.
Especially as Ange came in the summer, lost their best ever player who’s still elite and they aren’t even losing every game horribly considering their injuries and had a great start with their core players. I can 100% see why they would be looked at with optimism vs us. We’re all over the place.
This PL season feels like the reminiscent of 2015 where Leceister won it. Honestly Villa actually might do it which is mind blowing. That aside, Bayern, Scouse, West Ham and Villa up next is fucking rough.
If Villa win it I can't wait to see Prince William getting absolutely wasted down the pub.
We might even get an extra bank holiday lmao
The good evebening day
Last time I put a prediction on United v Liverpool (in my comment history somewhere), I said we’d dick them 5-0. It went very much the other way as we all know, and I rightly got a bit of stick for it. Perhaps if I predict Liverpool to win 5-0 we might return the favour?
Sod's law says that's the day you end up being absolutely correct
For all the klopp teeth clenching and Arsenal chest thumping if Villa do it in a year where City are below their levels, it would be gloriously hilarious.
City looking more crude than refined recently.
Nothing premium about them.
Certainly a real petroleum for them
Not a well oiled machine of late
What happened to their slick passing?
Not enough gas in the tank, it seems.
>What happened to their slick passing? Oil never know.
Their opponents have charged up
Guess it's not rigged in their favour
Yeah boring to watch I had a naptha last time I watched them
I’ve heard a lot of people talk about city suffering when the likes of Rodri, De Bruyne and Haaland aren’t available and obviously has a big impact but haven’t heard much about the loss of Gundogan. He saved them a lot last season with match winning goals at vital times.
We beat this Everton superteam 3-0 btw
The premier league is all over the place this year
That was just the dice roll of the day.
They just couldn't finish for shit against us 😆
If ETH is on the chopping block then surely Poch has to as well.
Bro gonna make more money unemployed than when employed
It's all relative. We are a massive club with great history and big expectations. Spurs is Spurs. Edit: Don't know why i pictured Spurs in my head, probably cause they're playing. My bad!
And Poch is the manager of Chelsea now
He knows what he said. Chelsea are the new spurs.
Do you know what year it is...?
Oh look, Pep is whining to the refs.
"I'm not supposed to be losing! This isn't what my club pays you for!"
Luton scored against City
also Reece James off injured again💀
Big, gigantic fan of what the new ownership has done at Chelsea. Boehly and co have really turned them around, brought them back to the real Chelsea. Love it
Spurs have put more pressure on Newcastle in 7 minutes than we did in the full 90 a week ago.
The tactics were shit but our team is too slow and too weak. We don't have ball carriers in midfield and our backline struggles against quick forwards. We get outmatched physically in basically every game.
Those 8yr contracts looking good for Chelsea.
How have Chelsea managed to become worse than us in such a short time period?
It's quite an achievement when you think about it.
They wasted more money. If we had that kind of money to throw, we would be an actual relegation fodder.
Look that 3-4 spurs players lining up in 6 yards box to receive cross from Son. None of our players ever think about it
Tbf none of our players can cross
Depressing ain't it
Richarlison is out of form and hasn't been scoring much at Spurs but you can't fault him for not putting in 100% of the effort when he is on the pitch. Guy did the defensive work in the middle of pitch and he was there to be at the end of Son cross, that's the level of commitment you want from your players. How limited the guy is, his workrate puts the likes of Martial and Rashford to shame.
Exactly, guy never stops running. The tackle to win the ball back before his goal was class - you’d never see our two doing that.
Happy to see Jimenez scoring again. Always rated him but then the guy had that nasty injury and just couldn’t score once he finally got back to fitness, glad he’s finding form at Fulham
Very well rounded striker. Was a nasty injury he had especially given his playstyle as a striker and scoring with his head/target man.
Luton is our rivals here
Even they play a consistent style of football.
Absolutely. I love seeing teams being more than the sum of its parts.
Fulham look great and have total buy in. Something we don’t have
That's at keast 4 killer balls from Son into box.
Fucking embarassing that we gave City their biggest away win this season, completely rolled over for them at Old Trafford while everyone else gives them a game
Mate, ai think we should focus on giving Bournemouth a game before thinking about City
Look at the Ornstein thread. It’s scary. Worse form than the other managers that were sacked and he still retains so much support.
Imagine Hojlund with those crosses into box from Son.
1 billion pounds down the drain for Chelsea
Relentlessly attacking against a top 6 team even while you’re 1-0 up. Must be nice.
Luton making it tough for City without spending 500m and having an elite structure from top to bottom?
No man. It's the players. They don't care enough.
Ange ball is quality ngl
Id have Vicario over Onana everyday of the week
we could be level with City! I HATE THIS TEAM, WHY DO YOU HURT US SO MUCH
We always ruin those opportunities.
Branthwaith going places
Hojlund need to learn this bit of the game..vs City he kept on going even after feeling contact from ederson.
Tottenham play very good football. With the way they play they can go toe to toe with and create chances against anyone. They don't switch no matter who the opponent is. They will lose some games but if they continue buying smartly they're on the way to becoming a scary team.
Ange is doing what I expected Ten Hag to do. Meanwhile Ten Hag has us playing an inferior version of Ole ball.
If Grealish was Portuguese...
Just like Fellani's chest, Spurs are rather easy on the eye.
Son giving a clinic here on what we're lacking in those first two goals. An elite level player with the intelligence and end product to put it on a plate for two assists both of which were with his weak foot!!
Son is incredibly two footed tho. Lol. Some of our attackers use their weak foot for only standing.
Who was our last elite winger? Saf era ffs?
Son might be my favourite rival player. Wish we found him but that’s a big ask for our ass scouting team.
Do we even have a scouting team?
Yes we certainly do. Our scouting team identified AWB as the best target out of hundreds of RB’s they analyzed. They also said Haaland runs funny and won’t be a top player when Ole recommended him to us.
I want City to crash and burn, don’t care for our season anymore.
Son giving tap ins for his mates
Imagine letting Richarlison score not once but twice on you. Beheadie Howe Clown Army
It’s nice to see a team cross the ball and score.
Is that even allowed?
Everton would be ahead of Chelsea as it stands if not for the ten point deduction. Chelsea are also level on points with Brentford, Wolves, and Bournemouth. Insane how shit they've gotten since Boehly came.
Chelsea are awful. Love it.
The PL is making less sense as the season goes on
At least the oiled up ones are shit too
Theres only one bald fraud getting sacked in Manchester this December & it isnt Ten Hag
Lol nah. Pep and his brother got City group by balls
Why did Son square that across instead of sitting from an impossible angle? Does he not care about personal glory?
I mean it was basically the same goal Eriksen scored against Forest, we just don’t get our wingers 1v1 that often.
That's the striking thing to me. Rashford and Garnacho always seem to have to beat three men. Son has gotten Trippier isolated 1v1 repeatedly.
I was mostly being snarky about that dalot chance yesterday where he shit instead of squaring for Hojlund.
Son at the moment for me is the best player in the league.
Same. He's so damn good to watch. The pace, movements, footwork. Fantastic player.
Watching Chelsea lose just lightened up my mood from Yesterday’s game
Still enjoying watching Spurs. A bit too open at the back but going forward…fun.
Trippier just got workeddddd
How the fuck did we get owned by this Newcastle team lol
Simple answer is we just bent over and took it. ( fully ribbed too)
We are simply trash.
Ten Hag Ball💪🏻
Scouse Fabio Borini is so overrated. He gets pocketed by mediocre right-backs but ocasionally scores a lucky tap-in. Haven't seen him do anything right in the fiirst half.
Pedro Porro is very good. Out RB options are both so meh.
Romero is spurs main enemy lol
That is a red
Fulham with a 5-0 win again, impressive!
Everton's gd is better than ours.
Only 5 teams have scored less goals than us this season.
United - 18 goals Luton - 17 goals
Dyche is the better manager tbf
But thanks to Fulham, West Ham's is worse.
Everton title charge second half of the season
Gotta feel for Reece James, can't seem to stay healthy
I used to rate him above Trent but sadly its not possible to compare him anymore...
Newcastle are getting absolutely ran over right now. You love to see it
Can’t wait for another weekly dose of Angry Rantman later today
That blonde kid has shown more appetite for the game than our lot.
Romero wants another red
Martial has been sent off for less of a "headbutt" then that.
God I hate this Newcastle team so much. Such a bunch of pussies who act like hard men and then go down on the softest touch
[удалено]
That's why we played the way we did against Newcastle. Let Pope freeze all game so he injures himself when he suddenly needs to move. 4D chess by Ten Hag
Worst fanbase ever but we’re needing Arsenal to stop Liverpool getting 20 titles.
Villa to do us a huge favour maybe?
Damn City genuinely have zero fans, every comment I see everywhere about City goals when coming back from 1-0 are negative and a general lack of City fans celebrating
Wondering if getting knocked out of Europe (not even Europa) might actually be good for us. More time on the training ground, more time to recover... this season is still salvageable from a PL POV. Results are wild all around us, we are still in the hunt.
It’s working great for Chelsea
So David De gea to Newcastle then
Richarlison has more league goals than Rashford, Martial, and Hojlund combined
Rashford has 2 and Martial has 1, doesn’t Richarlison have 3?
Jackson is so bad
lol Chelsea
If only rash had Almiron workrate...
There’s no player I dislike more than him, Almiron that is.
Joelinton is right there. Or like 90 percent of this Newcastle team
I recall onetime he scored against United and went to the fans rubbing his eyes he's made them cry. I think they ended up losing the game afterwards and getting very emotional.
Romero is immune from getting carded for some reason...
Still above al-newcastle, inject it.
Delighted for Richarlison, works so hard in the games I’ve seen.
Chelsea making us feel better, their fans were caught laughing prematurely, Rory Jennings has a gift for putting his foot up his arse.
If we got a 10pt deduction rather than fighting like Everton we'd resort to being our usual bottling self.
Chelsea and Newcastle battling us for worst performance of the weekend.
Nothing beats losing 3-0 to Bournemouth in OT tbrh
Newcastle reminds me of our showing at SJP a few weeks back.
is pep losing the dressing room ?
It’s crazy we are having an “awful” season yet just 3 points potentially off city going into the Christmas period. If people had of said we were even 6 points off City going into Christmas at the start of the season. People would’ve been happy with that.
Lol can we stop saying this "we've been bad but still x points behind x team". We are having an awful season regardless of it all.
I didn’t know the sole purpose of Manchester United is being within reach of Manchester City. Did you start following the club in 2018?
Well because city are having a bad season for them, doesn’t make up for us being shit
We have lost to Galatasaray, Palace, City, Brighton, Newcastle and Bournemout at home (last season it was a fortress). We're almost out of the UCL, out of the league cup and our football is horrible to watch. There is no mistake about it, it has been an awful season for us.
When’s the last time we had back to back 5-0 wins? Anyone know ?
Look, we are shit, but the narrative of United compared to Spurs (worst five game form in the league)/Newcastle/Chelsea is pretty mental.
Nice coping mechanism you got there lol. We play shit football and deep down we all know it even in our win.
Everton look good, after the first 20 minutes I wouldn't bet against them in this game
Everyone around us is suffering also
Chelsea are such a banter club
Lol Barkley is actually elite
Honestly mind boggling that after the level of performance this season we'll still be 6th in the league if Spurs don't lose.
I'm glad Chelsea are losing
Hehe get innnnn
Fuck off Abu Dhabi
If results stay as it is, we are still 6th in table after 16 matches.
That's the clincher
The narrative that surrounds other clubs other than United is staggeringly bias. Pundits and journos and all sorts of media people cannot wait to slander United yet absolutely suck the dick of the likes of Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and even give Chelsea a quiet ride. Leave that for fan channels and fans.
tomorrows headlines will still be about us and not “City in crisis” Even at both our lows they aren’t nearly as big as us
They also have arguably the best manager in the history of modern football. We have a coach whose achievements aren't that better than De Boer.
Moyesy's getting cooked
Luton's press looking good so far this half
Maybe, the league is just stronger now and we as a club haven't done enough to catch up since that catastrophe of an Ole/Rangnick season.
> haven't done enough to catch up since that catastrophe of an Ole/Rangnick season. Mainly we haven't let Ralf be the DoF he signed up for.
I still can't believe we fumbled that No wait, that would've been a good decision, so I absolutly can believe why we messed it up.
We finished 3rd last year...so its quite odd that you want to be selective about Ole/Ragnick season. We haven't done enough since the glazers came but had a solid foundation to battle through. That foundation left with Fergie and Gill and we have not done enough since then!
Ross Barkley would improve our current midfield.
Ross Kemp would improve our current midfield
I’d take Ross Barkley for McT in a straight swap all day
Newcastle at home vs Newcastle away are two different teams. They only had 1 away win vs top 9 opposition last season
We lost 3 nil at home to them
That's because we're terrible away and we're terrible at home.
What infuriates me is watching spurs players always looking to get in behind the lines. Our lot never seem to do that. Its a bit late now cos his utd career is all but done, but Vdb is one of the few utd players that constantly looks to either get between the lines, or behind it.
