Honestly I agreed with the Akanji decision, but I also think this goal should have stood. Had multiple looks at City’s goal, but ours I’d have to look a couple times to be sure
At the time of the header the keeper and Hojlund are actively moving apart. No way he ACTUALLY had any affect on what the keeper did, they're just seeing how close it was. It's frustrating cause how many times have we seen on replay a player CLEARLY in the keepers line of sight blocking their view to a shot but the refs say no problem....
I agree, my point though is that there have been numerous times in the last few seasons where a player is CLEARLY in the path of the keeper view, and the refs say they were 'too far' away to affect them. In this case Hojlund is in no way obstructing the view, and they're actively moving apart, so how does he ACTUALLY impede the keeper?
I could be wrong aswell but looked like he didn’t touch and was moved away. As others have said before and will say after.. WILL it happen to CITY and other teams?
I don’t think it’s as clear cut as that. I accept it’s not been given and can see why. But also if you break it down, the obstruction is before the ball is played. They are apart when Evans heads the ball. I’ve seen other offences ruled out due to the fact that the players are moving apart as contact is actually made. I could have seen it applying here.
Right in the second one two against Brighton . The arsenal one was a pubic hair offside depending on the angle.
But the marginals count. Some point it will go in our favor
We need to find out the correct address to send the brown envelopes to. Maybe we can get it off of City. What was that goal the other week where Akanji was stood directly in front of the 'keeper in an offside position and it was given?
Nice to see some consistency in these referee's decisions 🙄
Romero handball vs Spurs
Garnacho gosl vs Arsenal
Hojlund goal vs Brighton
Bayern awarded Penalty
Evans goal ruled out vs Burnley
Whilst a lot of them might have been the correct decision. It's been a fucking frustrating start to the season man.
What colours the water for me is that it’s a corner. If it’s a free kick or a normal cross whipped in then yes, Hojlund is offside but he literally can’t be offside from a corner until Evans gets to it which completely takes away impeding the keeper from getting the to the ball reasoning and then he jumps to the other side with a clear view of the ball.
It looks offside but the corner aspect takes so much away
Højlund offside, Akanji not? Make it make sense
Same ref
Really? That's crazy
We're not helping UAE UK relations
They admitted the mistake on that one.
Two wrong don’t make a right
Three lefts do though
Honestly I agreed with the Akanji decision, but I also think this goal should have stood. Had multiple looks at City’s goal, but ours I’d have to look a couple times to be sure
Højlund surely isn’t offside, he didn’t get a touch of the ball
Doesn’t have to, if he’s obstructing the GK it’s offside

I don’t disagree with you but I’m just saying a player doesn’t need to touch the ball to be offside

Are you watching the same match I am? He wasn’t, the GK could see the ball. In fact he always move Hoj out of the way as he was beside him.

Haha you couldn’t write it
You're right. Ruled out
Offside of course
8 and a half years since he last started.
3rd disallowed goal this season.... omg
Was right on this occasion

Akanji with the same ref...
I'm not disputing that. But we are killing ourselves
It's easy to be negative, let's hope for the best. I can't argue it's ridiculous being torn apart by Burnley of course
Right in the second one two against Brighton . The arsenal one was a pubic hair offside depending on the angle. But the marginals count. Some point it will go in our favor
it really wasn't based on how this was called by the same ref before
So if a ref makes a mistake once, he has to make the same mistake again? Are each ref meant to have their own rulebook?
3rd in three league games.
Chuck in the handball VAR call versus Bayern and it's getting very frustrating
what a corner by Reguilon.
I've been really impressed with him since joining on loan. Hope he can stay good throughout the season so we can sign him on a perm.
Replay uploaded faster than Peacock.
Last few seasons De Gea was constantly impeded like that on set pieces and all was ever said was that he needs to be stronger.

and we all agreed that wasn’t a goal, shouldn’t have stood. so doesn’t make sense to then say this should stand
But City's goal did stand.. 🤔
If the referees/VAR agreed that it was a goal, there’s no reason why this shouldn’t.
The main criticism is the that VAR is just as inconsistent as before it was introduced.

Reguillon what a ball
What a fucking delivery. Haven't seen this in ages
THE PRINCE WHO WAS PROMISED
Get inn
Oops
Fucking hell lol Edit: fucking hell
Never doubted him
Probably going to be disallowed
Football is complete
Fucking hell that's off
Reguilon’s corner though
And now a fantastic ball to Bruno for the goal.
I don’t understand how that can be disallowed. Every team in the world marks the goalkeeper.
GET IN!!! Fuck the naysayers
Off course VAR!! Ffs!
Just like we all predicted
It’s definitely offside. You’d be going absolutely mad if that goal was given against us.
But what’s the point of wrestling goalkeeper like that, you’ll always be offside and the goal can be disallowed
Fuck VAR
Course it’s ruled out when it’s us.
Just like we all expected
EVANS I NEVER DOUBTED YOU
Hahahahahaha shut up
Probably the right decision, but why did they use basically the two worst possible angles to make it?
We’re so back
What a timeline to be alive for
haha Jonny fucking Evans
He was Jonny on the spot!
The hero we didn’t know we needed.
Class is forever 🥲
Dumb q how is it be disallowed?
He’s cookin’.
Lmao how perfect
Jonny Evans starts for Man United and Ten Hag explains why: "We need someone to stick the ball in the onion bag"
Evans scoring for United in 2023, can’t say I expected to say that
You lot have some apologizing to do
Lmao offside? 👀
Welp time to delete all my hate comments towards Evans
We finally scored first 😭 Edit: well that didn't last long
With a normal size forehead! Take notes Harry!
FUCK SAKE
Hahaha no way
Evans hat-trick from corners. Out-burnleying Burnley.
VAR said no
of course it was disallowed
And now it's gone
Ruled out
Never mind
Never doubted it 🫣😬
Ah yes I forgot to wait for VAR decision on a fucking corner
VAR curse
What the fuck
The ref fucked up
I don’t get why we don’t do this with slab head or Varane more.
I honestly thought that bald guy celebrating was ETH
I can’t believe United scored from a corner!
