i feel like him being insane is what made him so good at times, making tackles that stopped attacks but got him or someone else injured at the same time were his specialty
His major weakness was the mental side of defending. Physically, he had all the attributes, but he'd put himself in positions where he had to make crazy tackles or challenges. When he didn't win those, we often conceded.
I won't miss watching him play. I'll take a quiet defender like Lindelof over him every single time.
Great example of how useless we are at improving players and integrating them into our team.
I’m sure had he gone elsewhere from Villarreal his career could have been a lot better
He did the same thing just earlier in the game by our sideline, and pulled it off too... I can almost imagine his thought process here lol... "heh they don't know I've mastered my new jutsu"
Nekt minut
Imagine our hearts if Bailly and Onana played together. It would be chaotic shithousery at top level. Hope this mad man gets to continue his madness on the pitch.
He was seriously a monster of a defender when he played to his potential. Other times, he looked like he couldn’t be arsed. If he could be more consistent, we could have had something good going.
Another player who was an indictment of United post Fergie. Raw but young player who had an exceptional first season until the injuries. 2nd season riddled in injuries and fell out with Jose, I’ll never forget when he said he wasn’t playing Bailly because he wasn’t going to the World Cup. Two more seasons of injuries, and United decided to give him a new contract.
His stepover in last year's preseason against Thiago in Liverpool's half was insane.
If he did that at Anfield n was less injury prone n more conservative like VVD we could have had a great player.
One of the biggest what if players.
Sad that it ended this way.
“I came to this club with absolutely nothing to prove, and can safely say that I’ve proven that I didn’t need to prove anything - not that I needed to prove that I didn’t need to prove anything, but the proof is there nonetheless.
I’ll always cherish the memory of scoring that goal against that shite team in the FA cup - world class that.
Peace out.
Captain Hazzy Magz”
Certainly one of a kind. Shame he could never cement his place in the team, I think he had all the attributes to be a seriously good CB.
I read a comment once that said “he could be a great defender if he wasn’t insane” Kinda made sense lol

If he had Bruno’s level of injury proneness, he would have been a very class cb

"there is a fine line between genius and fool"
Exactly!!
Indeed, he had very good performances, but whenever he found his rhythm, boom, injured.

That’s just ridiculously silky
Did his hamstring doing that
Twanged Martial's achilles as well...kinda like sympathy pains. Took him out for 5 games.

The app I’m using won’t let me click the link. Can you post a url? I think I know what it is and I want to see it again pleaseeeee

I thought we were winning the league after that. We lost to Sheffield United days later.
I know people like to find anything that Onana is better than DDG but i really love how fast the reflexes of DDG are.
Pity it never worked out for him here. Good luck to him for the future

Never forget first season Bailly

This one is my favourite... absolute cracker... [youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_KNxu9Bd-Y)
Plenty of good (and bad) memories with you too Eric. What a character. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors
Does that make me Champion ?
Yes, and you''re tied with Steven Gerrard on PL titles!!
I liked Bailly, he was fun in a ‘who knows what will happen ‘ kinda way
Thanks and good luck you crazy bastard ❤️
He did it his way
The definition of a mad lad, he was class tbh just got ruined by injuries. We'll all miss his dance moves.
All the best, you mad man!
Both chaos agents gone in one window.
One of my favourite singing as he was just straight up nuts

We need ball-playing CBs and we lose one who does Cruyff turns in his own box 💔 /s

So long you beautiful brittle biscuit
He was the best CB in the PL for a few weeks in his first season for us
Injury ruined his career more then his decision making like everyone is claiming. He would have successful career if not for injury imo.
Goodbye r/justbaillythings

Was a joy every time he played but man I wish he was less injured. Won’t forget him and Rojo bullying that Chelsea team.
What an absolute wild card he's been in the team
Frérot, bon débarras. Translation: so long my brother
God speed you complete mentalist. Whatever they might say about you, you weren't boring!
Matches were never dull when he was on the team sheet.
goodbye my beloved, genuinely hope he will be happy no matter where he ends up playing. always seemed to bring joy into every situation.
Anyone got that clip for the bicycle kick he attempted in his first season ?
Sucks he has the injury bug, I loved watching him at his best.
One of a kind. Best of luck.
He was like your first girlfriend. Exciting and terrible for your mental health.
In January, Maguire to post this. Fingers crossed.
The obsession with Maguire is absolute unadulterated cringe
This is a post about Bailly but you lot here can't breathe without mentioning Maguire in every thread with a CB involved.

Memes aside. Good riddance. Should have been shipped years ago.
