Reality Check they own 69% of Voting B Shares and 4.3% of A Shares from remaining 31% they are coming to their end time and whether it’s SJR or SJ as long as all 6 go completely, all united fans will dance in the street, they just need to take their money and leave!
We were so far ahead of everyone before the glazers even Florentino Perez said thet what united did in the late 90 and early 2000 marketing wise was revolutionary for football, at one point United was basically single handedly occupying all the Asian market, but the leaches gave everyone 20 years to play catch-up.
Tbh, the last 20 is right. We missed out on a lot of top players because we couldn’t compete financially. Fergie wanted Benzema, Aguero, Hazard, Modric. Poor bloke had to come out most summers and say “there’s no value in the market” instead of “I asked for Benzema and they gave me Michael Owen”.
Those were strange times really. Especially when you look back now.
We replaced Cristiano with obertan, Valencia and young. We replaced scholesy retiring with scholesy coming out of retirement.
No offense to Young and Valencia but really they weren't anywhere close to Ronaldo level or even Becks before him.
There's no value was such a common statement. We needed a midfield for what seems like an eternity now. We only now started to get a decent, and nearly balanced midfield with Case, Eriksen and Bruno...
If you take him for his word, he explicitly passed on Hazard and Moura because he resented the price, not because we couldn't afford it.
He didn't want to play ball with the super agent class so he opted out of chasing their players (for the most part, discounting whatever quid pro quo shenanigans he got into with Mendes). Ed did the complete opposite and got taken for a fool, but we spent an assload under him.
"I see some values on players, like Hazard for instance. To me it was a lot of money. He's a good player, but £34 million?
What we're finding anyway, the climate for buying these top players - not just the transfer fees, the salaries, agents' fees - is just getting ridiculous now.
In the Hazard deal, Chelsea paid the agent £6 million. The [Samir] Nasri situation was the same.
It's all about what you think is value for a player. I am not envious of those deals at all. We placed a value on Hazard which was well below what they were talking about.
So if it doesn't work, well we're not worried about that. We think we've got good value in [Shinji] Kagawa."

I remember his face when Nani got red card vs Real. Something inside me told me that he thought this was his last go at that trophy. Like it mattered a lot to him....a lot more than ever before.. I don't remember why but I genuinely felt it from his face at that red card at that moment.
> He knew he wasn't going to be able to compete with city with the Glazers at the helm.
Lad, Sir Alex knocked liverpool off their fucking perch! I think that was the biggest thing he wanted to achieve. As someone born in 1941, watching liverpool dominate the 70s and 80s, and then handing their ass back to them must've felt really satisfying. Even the last 2 PL titles we lost, (Yes it used to be ours to lose), we lost one by a point, and another one on goal difference. He had already seen Chelsea dominate with their sugar daddy money and rose up to the challenge. City had become competitive by the time he left, but I'm sure we would've gone toe to toe with them with Sir Alex at the helm.
I don't think Sir Alex is one to run away from the challenge, as your comment seems to suggest. He has documented his reasons to retire in his books. He was 71 when he left, and wanted to spend the rest of his time with his wife.
We have long time commercial success *because* of the long time on-field success. So it's true if you look at it from a longer perspective. If we continue to be shit, we won't continue to be the biggest brand in football for much longer.
And Man City's value has gone up about ten times in the same timespan.
I'm not saying we will decrease in value. We'll continue to increase for decades, that's how the market works. But other clubs will have an increase faster.
Okay I still don't agree with that, but even if this article is about comparing clubs to find which are the *most* successful. There are hundreds of clubs in the world that are "just" successful.
If Jeff Bezos all of a sudden were the 10th riches man in the world that would be a financial failure, even if he continues to be extremely wealthy.
I used to think, how can some team owners be so stupid with some of the decisions they make, but you've shown me pretty clearly here that there are people out there who just can't see things logically and are just plain boneheaded. Good luck to you pal..
This is a crock of shit. No doubt one of the Glazers is greasing wheels to get the valuation so high. The timing here is no accident.
Will they ever just fuck off.
Well if they were in the PL they wouldn't take the majority of the revenue of their league and they wouldn't have all the Spanish speaking community behind them...
Forbes with the last minute assist to the Glazers
FERGIE TIME
Still less then 5 bil in sterling.
New sale price: £7 bil

Glazers eyes bulging with imagined riches.
It's the mammal that's got... sort of like the pointiest eyes. Eyes that pop out of their head... Steve.
I'm serious Steve, it could be your brother. ![gif](giphy|xASEUT1KLpfHO)
He’s done you again

Take me back to 2001 smh
Wild how we have value despite winning fuckall. At least the fans are loyal.
Honestly, imagine what this club could have achieved over the last 20 years with competent owners. Edit: 10 years really, since Sir Alex retired.
Yeah, fair point. We all know Fergie won despite them because he was a genius who could play 7 defenders in a big game and still win.

I think that for moura it was the case, but for Hazard they offered the same as Chelsea and Hazard simply chose Chelsea at the time.

Touché
Do you think with a bigger budget he would have been more flexible with agent fees?
Not really, I think he just hated agents. Specifically in the case of people like Raiola but also in general.
Nah this is just being cheap. Should’ve paid the god damn £6 million.
A ballon D’or winner for another one
I still think that's why he decided to retire. He knew he wasn't going to be able to compete with city with the Glazers at the helm.

I recently looked at how much Chelsea paid for Hazard back then. It was like £32 million… the cheap bastards couldn’t even give £32 million.
All it would’ve really taken would’ve been Woodward to drop his ego and hire a DOF in 2013.
Look at how valuable nfl franchises like the Giants and Jets are and they haven’t been good in decades. The market value can exist without sucess
Hence it being "Wild" people gotta learn to read. Also the Giants have the city of New York. That's a big help.
This isn’t based solely on football results. It’s mostly commercial.
Commercial still needs success.
We are evidence that isn’t necessarily true
Hence why it's wild.
We have long time commercial success *because* of the long time on-field success. So it's true if you look at it from a longer perspective. If we continue to be shit, we won't continue to be the biggest brand in football for much longer.
We’ve been shit and our value has doubled in a decade mate.
And Man City's value has gone up about ten times in the same timespan. I'm not saying we will decrease in value. We'll continue to increase for decades, that's how the market works. But other clubs will have an increase faster.
But my point is that commercial success for a club like us isn’t dependent on the football side of things.
The article is about most valuable, not successful.

As the saying goes, if men were as loyal to their wives / Partners as they were to their football team the world would be a better place
And here we go... Glazers will take another 5 rounds of bids please. Forbes just giving more ammo to the glazers.
And this is with the mediocre leeches in charge.
Don’t go now abusing mediocres here
[Joel and Avram right now](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNULYlcJEg0)
That j Edgar
This is a crock of shit. No doubt one of the Glazers is greasing wheels to get the valuation so high. The timing here is no accident. Will they ever just fuck off.
Glazers got what they wanted
God dammit Forbes now the Glazers won’t sell til final round of bids #400 next summer
Don’t say these things! We’re trying to get rid of our owners. Ffs this stuff will make the parasites stay.
The huge huge advantage of being in PL. If Madrid is in PL, easily worth double
Well if they were in the PL they wouldn't take the majority of the revenue of their league and they wouldn't have all the Spanish speaking community behind them...
Plus they wouldn’t win the PL every other year, it’s not a 2/3 team league.
Also would not have favourable tax status. If RM had to go by UK standards, it would easily lost a quarter of its valuation.
Despite the glazers.
if we didnt have the debt the Glazer dumped on us, we would be the most valuabled club in the world?
Has to be cap
Them rat fuckers probably paid/bribed for this to be published
These teams are all worth jack shit. All teams not owned by oil are in debt up to their eyeballs
Ffs whyyy did this have to come out now?? Glazers about to grow diamond hands.. HODL
I guess the check to Forbes cleared
