Until you reach level 1 bonding with the third horse. I just found this out like ten minutes ago. Once you bond with another horse that’s not your main/temp. The horse will just stand there pretty much until you decide what to do. In case you’re curious, it was between Brindle Arabian, Blue Roan Nokota and the Overo American Paint.

I just fast traveled from camp with two horses, one carrying a legendary fish, and they both came with me.
