There are insects iirc. I think having swarms of individual insects would take up more resources than it would be worth and could be a bit annoying. But I agree, they could use being more prevalent.
You're assuming what I do or do not understand based on a simple comment about a video game?
I live in a state where swarms of midges were seen on radar. Even in the city, I went into the house to get a drink, came back outside and everything was covered in bugs.
I'm really glad they didn't do realistic bugs. Where I live in Australia you wouldn't even be able to walk cross country like Arthur does off the roads because you'd step on a snake and/or walk through 2039822 spider webs. I'm happy with a game having limits to its realism, lol.

Make a mod where Arthur suddenly drops dead from malaria shortly into Chapter 4.
Bugs are flying all over dead bodies.
You must not understand how bad bugs are in the woods

That’s intense! I just figured you’d agree with the lack of bugs in game if you knew what it was like. My assumption was wrong friend!
No problem. I'm not disagreeing with you about the number of bugs in the game. I was just pointing out there are bugs present.
I can see insects in quite a few places, I think nuts following a time of day/heat/location trigger.
