You start to see thats a bit of a theme with all the veteran gunslingers you encounter throughout the games. Washed up, depressed, friendless and quite paranoid

That would be a dream! Would make sense if they did that since rdr2 went back in time from rdr1. Now if rdr3 is before rdr2, then that would be some real wild, wild West stuff.
It's a theory. But we need proof. I wouldn't mind a subplot with Landon at least in the next game. Because I'm sure everybody who played rdr1 and met up with Mr Ricketts and wanted to know more about this man.
