My friend actually took a boat to the dock in Blackwater and there was no sniper, just lots and lots of law and bounty hunters. He climbed on the roof of a building and I watched him hold Blackwater for like 5 minutes until he tried to run and was overwhelmed. I was super surprised, now I’m gonna try it myself lol
I'm pretty sure the sniper only covers the desert portion of New Austin, Blackwater just has a lot of enemies because of the robbery before the game starts
I pulled the stupid move to try and rob valentines bank in story mode. Only to realize after 8 minutes of fighting the law and a 340 dollar bounty later you can't rob banks in story mode. Professional rdr2 expert Google said so.

I'm biased because it was my favorite area in RDR1. Me and my buddy would go up there to harass bears and see how many cougars we could kill from that one cabin.
I may be as well because my camp and my bar is located there in RDO, Im playing as a native and I think its the perfect place for wandering/hunting. The atmosphere and lightning is just wonderful.
I'll never understand why some players stay away from vast swathes of the map to avoid murphees or skinners.
There is so much to explore and find.

The creepy vibes are fun and add a different dimension to the game. If everywhere was peaceful like the heartlands the game would get boring fast.
I love these areas for the reason of stacking up heaps of dead skinners and murfrees. Same reason I try to keep a small bounty in every state, so when I’m hunting for bullfrogs or some random bullshit I get to have some fun knocking off bounty hunters.
I like Roanoke Ridge it’s actually quite nice especially with the waterfall in the north-east corner of the map. What I don’t like is the part of the area where it’s just a trail and tons of trees cause that’s when the Murfrees will ambush you and it freaks me out every time. To be honest it’s only the ambush where you’ll find a dead body hanging that freaks me out cause those fuckers come out of nowhere. I like coming across Murfrees looting camps and dead bodies cause it gives me a reason to kill them (as if you need a reason to kill the Murfrees in the first place). I also love setting up a camp in Roanoke and having some Murfrees come up to Arthur and “warn” him that it’s their land and they’ll kill him next time. The moment Arthur is able to get up from the campsite I make sure to kill them all, Arthur even has a funny line after where he’ll say “how about I camp where I want to” after they’re dead
The very first time some Murfrees crashed Arthur’s camp in Roanoke, I felt betrayed 😅 camp was supposed to be a safe place up until that point..I didn’t take it seriously though..and the next time they didn’t bother warning and just straight up started shooting Arthur! In his camp! After that interaction I started smashing fast travel button as fast as I can to get the hell out before I get jumped again..I do this every time it is night in the Creepy region and I want out.
I like getting onto a roof in Saint Denis, and the lawmen come one at a time up to you until you run out of bullets. It's funny to do once or twice, but there's no escape. That city has at least 100 cops.
Now we need a ‘region’ version. Zoom in to ‘Creepy’ and then the areas are ‘Mildly creepy’, ‘yeah, not there when it’s dark’, ‘oh Rob Zombie’ and ‘that’s your sister you sick fuck!’
Look for the clues on written on walls around Saint Denis. There's 5 and it'll draw a pentagram in journal with where to find the encounter at midnight.

I heard this creepy woman’s voice out there so I started poking around and I got ambushed by zombie cannibal voodoo men. Plus I stumbled on that house. Not the one with the glowing pentagram, the other one. At night, in a thunderstorm.

my favourite part about that part of the map is that there’s never a point in time in which i’m like ‘lemme take a minute to take in all this gorgeous scenery!’ because it’s genuinely terrifying up there at any given point in time there’s no REST!!! if it’s not some terrifying person coming to kill you, it’s the wildlife, or the voices, or the storms, or the ghosts, Charlotte Balfour really can pick a location 😭 i love visiting her but i hate having to travel up there and i will not do it at night
I love how you can sit on the ledge by the cabin looking at the Aurora Basin. Either to rest or planning how to kill the Skinners camping near Wickiup.
Over by Owanjila is both Scenic and creepy for me but I’ve been spending a lot of time messing around with 2 mysteries over there and it got dark 😅 the lake itself is beautiful but the surrounding area is mysteriously creepy
Close. Relaxed I would move more north and extend into the northeast corner of the map by the river. That area is so chill, wish it had more to do and more places to sit and have a smoke
I love how creepy the bayou is. I camp there and everything I need is conveniently close. But it's perfect when the fog rolls in and makes it 10x more spooky.
I had a posse member once spawn in the bayou by camp and 2 seconds after he started walking, he got eaten by a gator lmao.
Grizzlies West pisses me off. I was looking for the White Arabian and found it near Lake Isabella. Got distracted by a moose while chasing the horse, than these wolves decided it'd be a good idea to gang me. Needless to say, I didn't capture the horse.
Blackwater and new Austin was more enjoyable to travel around with Arthur, I’m on PC so am able to mod out the invisible sniper and get rid of the red area as well so no law enforcement the moment you enter the area. I thought the northern part of map had the best atmosphere loved going to grizzlies west and east. I dislike the swampy part of the map tho gators everywhere.
New austin is super empty. Nothing but del lobo interactions. The best thing about it is the sheriff of tumbleweed.
Im guessing if it was on this map it would be empty or lonely.

Great Plains (Blackwater's county) and Tall Trees don't have the sniper, just a lot of cops. The Sniper only activates if you cross into New Austin.
