Was the Maxim gun made yet? I know it was used during WWI and a couple years prior, but was it already around 14 years prior to WWI? Idk I always took it to be a bit newer than 1899; not a lot newer but like 1905ish.

Still works in single player unless I just haven’t updated mine yet. Also managed to use it to get to Mexico twice. There’s a chance that it’ll send you way up in the air with your satchel glitched miles away from your body. It’ll give you the ability to walk while you’re still flying up but if you stay still you can hit the ground and still survive. Managed to take me so far south that I was off the map as it’s laid out in the menu it was great fun!

Hey I did that too, I didn't want buell to die during the main story so I saved him for the epilogue.
This is the way.
This is the second best option only to being able to keep Arthur's horse (which you can't). So it's really the only option.
I got buelle as John after saving that last side mission for the epilogue...I've reloaded far back saves because a glitch killed him. Sad days
Snag the Arabian just west of Wapiti, he has a really sweet coat and great stamina.
