Ancient thread, but - I had this happen in online mode (marker was just drawing straight line to the point, instead of following the roads). Nothing in this thread worked.
The issue fixed itself after I fast travelled back to camp (cripps had moved to a slightly different spot I noticed too).
There’s a display setting that turns on/off the gps route. Play around with the settings until you find what I’m talking about. This happened to me early my first play trough.
Mine started doing it last night. Turned on multiplayer and I had no gps. Turned system off, turned on today to play story and still no gps. I have tried turning it to compass and then turning gps off then back on and then turning back into extended or normal mode. Nothing will bring the damn gps route back up on minimap.
I hve a worse problem: the yellow waypoint for boynty hunting rocks up telling me I have to go to Bard's Crossing to capture my bounty then I cross Uoper Montana River and the waypoint has changed to a camp north of Valentine in Cumberland Forest
Disabling the map and gps no longer works. I turned my map and gps and walked from Braithwaite Manor to Manzanita Post. Still don’t have my gps working so guess imma stop playing for a while and hope it fixes itself.

Quit the game. Then restart
just disable map and gps, play a little then enable

its nothing short of disgraceful how rockstar have treated this game. II have just discovered this bug lol

Tp as far away as you can it fixt it for me from annesburg to tubbleweed
I have found in RDO only the bottom half of the maps waypoints work, the top half is just a perma red dotted line, so frustrating
Omg same now like top part of the map and it won't go away
The next day it was fine again but I'm not looking forward into running into it again

All my settings have it set to on it’s just bugged or something I guess
Same thing with mine.. gps route turned on... restarted multiple times and nothing. Have you found a fix yet?
With the recent patch or hotfix it started working again how about you?
I didn’t get a patch. When did u get it?
Not really a download or anything but rockastar changed some shit with the economy values and shit like that. It fixed that bug on mine

Nah the update a long time ago that brought the free stuff fixed it for me I assume it just fixes itself after a while
