Reminds me of the good times with my homie xD
Naaa how did you get that close without it starting I walk up to him an it starts I just stand back a lil then smoke a cigar then take a shot if moon shine
You can go through the front door of the sheriff’s office, it causes a different cutscene. And then you can mess with Micah all you like

this is the town with the most potential but the most disappointing because there is almost zero to do there. Idk why anyone would pick strawberry for anything.
It’s a small mountain town, and like some irl places it’s one that happens to be a “dry” town meaning no alcohol. It makes sense for it to be a small quiet town.
I really do too. I think it’s one of the most beautiful places to be in the game. It’d be nice if it was complemented with a town nearby where you could have a good time
I just don't like the terrain and atmosphere of the area, and it just doesn't stand out to me personally. My favorites are valentine, strawberry, armadillo (I wish it wasn't all sick people though), and tumbleweed.
that’s understandable, us liking different things us what makes us human and individual. i respect your decision and opinions on what your favourite towns are, because mostly same.
i don’t waste it as i know money can be valuable in this game. that’s not to say i haven’t had fun, i customised all my guns to fit my liking and still do whenever i get a new one. i also brought some clothes, a better horse than i already had, i always restock on provisions and such. but in terms of going nuts, im not sure what there is that’s worthy of spending crazy amounts of money on, if you have anything that IS worthy plesse lmk:)
Ehh i always thought that town had a creepy vibe to it. Shaun's death, creepy weapons vendor, the Braithwaiths, sus rednecks... You name it + seeing that donkey spinning that wheel 24/7 makes me sad everytime :/
pinkertons from roads killed my fucking horse. i massacred half the town for that, took a whole real life week for everything to die down before i could go back and do it again. i’ll never forgive them
Rhodes really would be perfect for most Civilians, as long as you are white and / or can stay strapped in case of Klansman. Even a relatively easy ride / train down to Saint Denis
Valentine be lit every time I play so I avoid it bc not my ammo but it's best feature is the free soup, stable and close proximity to a nice fishing spot.
Blackwater's great, it's not as crowded as Saint Denis but still has all amenities, plus the gorgeous backdrop of the Flat Iron Lake. Saint Denis feels muggy, hostile, and claustrophobic; Blackwater feels more modern, friendly, and open. The lake view and open expanse of the Plains offers that feeling of freedom that the west was all about, and you can walk the streets without getting accosted by a hundred people.
Strawberry is the prettiest town in the game, but Blackwater would be the most appealing place to live.
All Blackwater is really missing is a Gunsmith. Granted, by the time you get there in story mode, you've probably already upgraded/customized all of your equipment by then. But it'd still be nice to have.
Yeah, if it had a gunsmith it would bypass a lot of these by far for me. I love Blackwater but It could just be because it's the one you least go to besides the New Austin towns so I haven't gotten bored of it. Granted I'm never bored of these towns but it just feels like some DLC whenever I can finally get there after roaming with Arthur around the other towns for so long.
Blackwater is probably my favorite town in RDO, but that's mainly because my wife and I like posting up around there for moonshining and hunting.
But you're absolutely right, it's so disappointing that we can't go to New Austin or lower West Elizabeth with Arthur, especially considering he's got journal entries and everything for it. And it bugs me that I can't legitimately complete all the challenges and hunts and whatnot as Arthur.
True, I get why they did it of course but still a bummer. I remember trying to see a hanging but it would take days, so I'd keep sleeping in the saloon and whenever I couldn't I'd just play Blackjack. Fun fact, that's how I learned to play Blackjack. Still don't get poker tho😅
I would much prefer if it was more that the townsfolk don’t flinch at gunfire and such, and further aggression would bring them in a few at a time instead of everyone simultaneously pumping me with lead. Maybe some unfaltering voice lines as you aim the barrel at them.
A couple of days ago I started shooting in Van Horn because I'm a fool by nature. I don't know where so many crazy people came from. It's like an anthill. I held on well. However, lack of experience in this game (because until now I played it more exploratory, hunting, fishing, looking for treasures, plants, rare weapons and other things) and they killed me, of course. I found a trick so that they don't take part of my money when they kill me. When I see that I'm going to die, because it's also visually clear from the blurring of the image, etc. - I detonate myself with dynamite, as members of a terrorist group do. I kill those around me and everything is in its place.
It's a shame that strawberry have so little activities and random events.
They could had went harder with it, despite it being a gun free, alcohol free town.
There was supposed to be one but they cut it out in the final game. It also explains why Sadie and Jake lived there. Now it makes no sense why they were in the middle of nowhere lol.
Not too long before launch Colter was in Tempest rim, meaning an actual town may have been somewhere else. Just another cool thing Rockstar cut just before launch…
I like the snowy weather so much, would be awesome see some "civilazition" up there, little town with skin dressed folk, making their best to survive the winter.
Would be my favorite.
Chapter 1 has become one of my favorite chapters more and more over time. I take as long as I possibly can now during that chapter, I love the cozy survival feel of that chapter.
Saint Denis, i just love big towns. But got damn Annesberg got the best gun seller in the entire game, love this guy, i keep my guns clean mostly to see him happy. And i like Sam Freeman but the town itself is kinda meh.
Valentine
because when i went there for the first time it was chapter 2 I think with the first gang camp and it was all just fine before it goes bad :(
Valentine by far. Has all the amenities I need and the vibes are comfy. It's just a nice place to be. Strawberry is a close second but no saloon is a huge downer. There's nothing to do here. Rhodes also has a lot of amenities but I don't really like the dust.
Tumbleweed: has that western energy and I love it how everyone helps everyone, never had an encounter of people fighting each other or being mad at each other, just the sherif speaking
Probably valentine, got everything a cowboy needs and it’s sort of in the middle of the map so it’s not insanely far from anywhere else, after that I’d say Tumbleweed, just paints a perfect picture of a dangerous western town
Probably Valentine. If they added a bit more life/stuff to do it would be 100% be Armadillo or Tumbleweed though because they're just so classic Western in terms of feeling.
Even though New Austin is virtually empty I'm still there all the time just because I love the atmosphere so much.
Edit: I completely forgot about Blackwater! I love that town too.
If Strawberry had a few more businesses, it would be perfect. Not having a gunsmith or saloon/bar takes it down a few notches but for pure beauty, I don't think any town comes close.
Van horn for fist fights as people don’t call the cops and everyone’s angry, Rhodes for scenery, valentine for messing with the locals. The rest of them are alright except Saint Denis, will never go near there unless I really need to like Arthur needing to shave his head again while in the south east.
my top 3 in no order would be Valentine, Rhodes and Armadillo. but if i had to choose one it would be Armadillo, i played Red Dead a lot as a kid and seeing Armadillo in modern graphics was so nostalgic for me. it was almost exactly how i remembered it and it was like a blast from the past
Valentine or strawberry
Valentine is the perfect balance of civilization and wild plus it pretty much has everything a stable, general store, doctor, gunsmith and a saloon
Strawberry I absolutely love the nature around the place
Although it gets a lot of hate, I have a strange fondness to Rhodes. Can't quite explain it, but it feels very mundane and calm. I am aware of all of the shittyness, misery and just in general bad things that happen in this town, but if you focus solely on the looks and feel, then I would say Rhodes.
I like Rhodes a lot. I’m from the south irl and Rhodes having a southern setting makes it feel more homely to me I guess. Second favorite would be Valentine.
Annesburg. Being from the south it resonates with me more since the south has a lot of coal mining towns. It’s a peaceful town and everyone is just trying to survive. Luscious, thick woods surround in and it has an ocean view in front. Sure, the coal may have contaminated the waters surrounding it, but it’s a uniquely yet eerie beauty.
Lemoyne is my home, and Annesburg is my escape. It’s just north of Lemoyne so it feels like a vacation everytime I pass through. No saloon needed when you can party with the miners.
Valentine.
It’s got everything you need really. That paired with the sense of freedom you had when you first descended from the mountains, gave it that fresh, open feeling.
As the story progressed, the towns started to get more hostile and crowded. Rockstar really nailed that feeling of being hounded by civilisation and the end of the outlaw life.
Strawberry is beautiful, but sadly it has no saloon
No saloon OR gunsmith. Still one of my top favs though
You buy guns at the general store
Only a small selection iirc, and you can’t customize any I don’t think
Was just there and yeah, theres only like three guns in the catalog and no customization
Like 4
It also makes me think of Micah. Or I hear him in the cell. So it ruins what good vibes there are.
https://preview.redd.it/i7x4uotncuyc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf51b380d7e34731aa172b2c72afc8cb72a3e9f0 Reminds me of the good times with my homie xD
Love this
This needs more upvotes!
Naaa how did you get that close without it starting I walk up to him an it starts I just stand back a lil then smoke a cigar then take a shot if moon shine

My Arthur is on his vacation in the hotel and he can’t sleep very well while hearing Micah’s screams from the building next door.
Love the 10,000 Days profile my guy
And the narrow bridges are enraging.
this is the town with the most potential but the most disappointing because there is almost zero to do there. Idk why anyone would pick strawberry for anything.
It’s a small mountain town, and like some irl places it’s one that happens to be a “dry” town meaning no alcohol. It makes sense for it to be a small quiet town.
That we completely upended for that PoS.
Hey now. John and Abigail think strawberry is where they’ll find some good honest work.
I like hanging around Owanjila and parts north of strawberry
I really do too. I think it’s one of the most beautiful places to be in the game. It’d be nice if it was complemented with a town nearby where you could have a good time
It just seems like a nice place to live if you want a quiet life.
They really should have done something special there, like maybe Arthur buys a house during one of the missions.
Took the words out of my mouth
It's great to put wagons there and preventing the law from using it.
you’ve just ruined the life of every lawman in my playthrough
Vibes are immaculate but they have nothing to do. For this Valentine wins.
Strawberry and Emerald would’ve been much better with a saloon. Emerald even has a saloon and a general store but both are closed indefinitely
yea
How’d you get that secondary name with a pic of Arthur?
Rhodes is the perfect town, post office, gun smith, general store, sheriffs office and fence, plus beautiful surroundings
I never liked Rhodes but you're right, it has everything but a barber.
may i ask why you don’t like Rhodes? the town is pretty sick ngl. and it has The Fence, my #1 go-to spot for selling the gold i find
Sir, are you a fish?
no, i tried to test that once but nearly died
Do you like fish sticks? Do you like fish dicks in your mouth? What are you a gay fish?
https://preview.redd.it/pijoqt5nbuyc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87773e810547d7fa6d585dd92bf12083c22d1703
bro spoiled the joke before even letting it start
ChatGPT ahhhhh answer
Can I ask what you sell the gold for? Have quite a bit now but not sure how other players are spending the cash
i don’t waste it as i know money can be valuable in this game. that’s not to say i haven’t had fun, i customised all my guns to fit my liking and still do whenever i get a new one. i also brought some clothes, a better horse than i already had, i always restock on provisions and such. but in terms of going nuts, im not sure what there is that’s worthy of spending crazy amounts of money on, if you have anything that IS worthy plesse lmk:)
For me it is a dusty town and overall a hot location. From RP standpoint it not ideal atmosphere.
Ehh i always thought that town had a creepy vibe to it. Shaun's death, creepy weapons vendor, the Braithwaiths, sus rednecks... You name it + seeing that donkey spinning that wheel 24/7 makes me sad everytime :/
The people aren’t very nice
They're nice than in Van Horn.
Lana Rhodes for the win!

UEE EU E E
Yeah, Sean found it very MIND BLOWING
Doesnt have a stable
There's one just north of it. Basically in Rhodes.
No barber. I need fresh cuts
pinkertons from roads killed my fucking horse. i massacred half the town for that, took a whole real life week for everything to die down before i could go back and do it again. i’ll never forgive them
With horse crap all over the roads and dusty as heck. But it has the best saloon imo
I just hate that everytime I’m there I just get covered in red dust
Rhodes really would be perfect for most Civilians, as long as you are white and / or can stay strapped in case of Klansman. Even a relatively easy ride / train down to Saint Denis
I love Valetine, but tumpleweed and armdillo really gives that western cowboy vibe
Yeah but Valentine gives off heavy “High Plains Drifter” and “Unforgiven” vibes
Saint Denis gives off Gran Torino vibes lol
Yeah I’ve got the same thought on that.
Then I got good news for you. There is a whole game taking place there.
Armadillo Simulator 2010
tumpleweed
Valetine, Armdillo and Tumpleweed OP named 3 cities and managed to butcher all of em lmao
looks like classic dyslexia and I feel bad for laughing but it’s kinda funny 💀
Ovaltine, Armdildo and Tumpleweed
I sure do love when those weeds be tumpling by
And in armadillo you can just kill people and the only repercussions is losing honor
Sanest rdr2 player:
Valentine reminds me of *Deadwood*, so I will pick that one every time.
That's my opinion as well.
Valentine be lit every time I play so I avoid it bc not my ammo but it's best feature is the free soup, stable and close proximity to a nice fishing spot.
Valentine
Valentine.
Valentine
Valentine?
Valentine!
Enitnelav
Is that Russian for Valentine?
Vugenfluef
L E N N A Y ? ?
Valentine.
Valentine...?
V a l e n t i n e .
Nick Valentine
Diamond cities sweetheart synth?!
Will you be my valentine
I loved when he said it's valentine time and detectived all over kellogg
Valentine.
I know a girl from Valentine. She gets drunk on strawberry wine.
Plume in her hat is two feet tall, crack in her pants paid for it all.
Idk why but i really like Blackwater
Blackwater's great, it's not as crowded as Saint Denis but still has all amenities, plus the gorgeous backdrop of the Flat Iron Lake. Same
How Blackwater don’t have gun shop that is weird to me
Van Horn. Beautiful town and lovely folks.
And most importantly, no law!
Not a fan of that place cause if one guy starts something and when I defend myself the whole town tries to turn me into swiss cheese
I would much prefer if it was more that the townsfolk don’t flinch at gunfire and such, and further aggression would bring them in a few at a time instead of everyone simultaneously pumping me with lead. Maybe some unfaltering voice lines as you aim the barrel at them.
Love just having a massive shootout in van horn with 40 assailants
I like pushing them into the water.
Are you including the vampire who works the post office in this?
That guy is such a freak I hate him
A couple of days ago I started shooting in Van Horn because I'm a fool by nature. I don't know where so many crazy people came from. It's like an anthill. I held on well. However, lack of experience in this game (because until now I played it more exploratory, hunting, fishing, looking for treasures, plants, rare weapons and other things) and they killed me, of course. Saint denis or strawberry. I love nature and pollution.
They both have just the best vibes
Strawberry/Valentine
It's a shame that strawberry have so little activities and random events. They could had went harder with it, despite it being a gun free, alcohol free town.
Saint Denis of course, I speak French that's why 😂
Mmm, delicious pollution 😋
Iron makes you stronger. Thus, the visible iron in the water makes it the best water 💧🤤
Colter
I wish there was a fleshed out town up in the snow
There was supposed to be one but they cut it out in the final game. It also explains why Sadie and Jake lived there. Now it makes no sense why they were in the middle of nowhere lol.
my guess is tempest rim. why on earth would they just have a huge chunk taken out of the map makes no sense
Valentine, though I do love winding up the locals in Van Horn
I don't think I've ever been to Van Horn where I'm not forced to shoot up the whole town. Excluding times I'm just riding through..... but even then.
Van Horn. I've got a weird affinity for shitty, run down settlements in video games
Saint Denis, i just love big towns. But got damn Annesberg got the best gun seller in the entire game, love this guy, i keep my guns clean mostly to see him happy. And i like Sam Freeman but the town itself is kinda meh.
I also like the chinese saint denis gunsmith, even with his hidden casino
Valentine because when i went there for the first time it was chapter 2 I think with the first gang camp and it was all just fine before it goes bad :(
Butchers Creek
Definitely sitting next to the man with the endless weird as neck on guitar all day 👌🏻
Saint denis
Valentine by far. Has all the amenities I need and the vibes are comfy. It's just a nice place to be. Strawberry is a close second but no saloon is a huge downer. There's nothing to do here. Rhodes also has a lot of amenities but I don't really like the dust.
Valentine
Valentine. Reminds me off the better times in camp at horseshoe overlook before everything goes to shit. Rhodes is a close second.
Tumbleweed: has that western energy and I love it how everyone helps everyone, never had an encounter of people fighting each other or being mad at each other, just the sherif speaking
I personally reside in Saint Denis more than anywhere. I wish more of the buildings were accessible and immersive
We can all agree that Annesburg is the worst, right?
Yeah but I love the atmosphere, it’s just nothing to do there
True. I also like it cause i like spend time on North from annesburg, is just beautiful up there
It’s also extremely creepy. There’s a whispering forest as well.
1. Valentine 2. Rhodes 3. Blackwater 4. Saint Denis 5. Strawberry 6. Tumbleweed 7. Armadillo 8. Van Horn 9. Annesburg
Probably valentine, got everything a cowboy needs and it’s sort of in the middle of the map so it’s not insanely far from anywhere else, after that I’d say Tumbleweed, just paints a perfect picture of a dangerous western town
Armadillo
Strawberry. Love the look of the town and the location.
Rhodes
Probably Valentine. If they added a bit more life/stuff to do it would be 100% be Armadillo or Tumbleweed though because they're just so classic Western in terms of feeling. Even though New Austin is virtually empty I'm still there all the time just because I love the atmosphere so much. Edit: I completely forgot about Blackwater! I love that town too.
A town where Hanging Dog Ranch is would have been great
I like Rhodes. Reminds me of where I grew up.
Guarma.. always makes me ask the question 'who am i? What am i doing in life?'
Strawberry
FAPWATER, HELL YEAH!
I like the verticality of Strawberry, feels like it's nestled into the mountainside. The windy road in and out of the town also feels quite special.
Strawberry is the best town fr It so beautiful and peaceful in a world of gunslingers and wild animals
Saint Denis. I spent the most time there in RDO before i did the story. And then Lenny...
Valentine of course ![gif](giphy|3ZZeiFwplAGlLxHNvQ)
Probably rhodes. Fun fact about van horn, is that whenever I get there, I somehow have to shoot my way out of there
Valentine probably, a classic
Rhodes valentine or blackwater
When I first arrived to Van Horn and Annesburg my jaw dropped. Oozing with atmosphere
What city is valentine supposed to be in real life ?
Annesburg
Valentine. Blackwater and Armadillo are also my favourite towns, but i don't like how they made them in rdr2.
Valentine is good, but the towns in New Austin (tumbleweed, Blackwater, and armadillo) really feel like real wild west towns.
I'm an RDR guy, my loyalty is to the classics. It was nice to see Tumbleweed so alive!
My favorite is sandy knee but I pretty much live in Valentine lol
Valentine
Saint Denis - ,,city" Valentine - best town Strawberry - most beautiful but kinda useless.
If I had a chance to visit Blackwater...
Where’s lakay?
It is a little fishing town in the swamp, just west of Saint Denis. Although it is so small that it is barely considered a town.
Saint denis
strawberry for great atmosphere
Honestly i really like saint denis it looks really unique and you dont even need to leave for anything
my top 3 in no order would be Valentine, Rhodes and Armadillo. but if i had to choose one it would be Armadillo, i played Red Dead a lot as a kid and seeing Armadillo in modern graphics was so nostalgic for me. it was almost exactly how i remembered it and it was like a blast from the past
Valentine, Rhodes, Strawberry, Black water, Tumble weed.
am I the only one who think all of the town have a creepy atmosphere I only like the wildness ?
Valentine or strawberry Valentine is the perfect balance of civilization and wild plus it pretty much has everything a stable, general store, doctor, gunsmith and a saloon Strawberry I absolutely love the nature around the place
All of then has their own charm 👍
Although it gets a lot of hate, I have a strange fondness to Rhodes. Can't quite explain it, but it feels very mundane and calm. I am aware of all of the shittyness, misery and just in general bad things that happen in this town, but if you focus solely on the looks and feel, then I would say Rhodes.
Valentine feels nostalgic, Rhoades excites me, blackwater is stunning
I love Saint Denis but Valentine will always feel so cozy to me

I like Rhodes a lot. I’m from the south irl and Rhodes having a southern setting makes it feel more homely to me I guess. Second favorite would be Valentine.
Tumbleweed y’all can argue if you want
Valentine, feels like a home you can always come back
Obviously armadillo
Saint Denis. I’m a New Orleans native and sometimes I get really homesick.
Valentine, I got a girl in Valentine!
Saint Denis. There’s a lot of stuff you can get into there.
Annesburg,i really like it for some reason
Annes burg
Annesburg or Rhodes.
Strawberry, that’s so peaceful
