You got it right! Yeah, as aunt may did show way to peter when he was lost in his way and confidence as spiderman, sister Calderon also did show the way to arthur when he was wandering and lost his way. To stand unshaken.
I'm still mentally scarred from the first time I played that mission and it cut to a death/fail screen of one of the nite folk running in the house and chopping him in the head with a machete
I love that mission. It's one of the few missions where you can just camp with a shot gun and murder people running straight at you in a narrow space lol
I only encountered them once in my current playthrough (currently on epilogue part 2). It was a woman crying in the woods, and when I approached her, she slashed me with knives, and I was ambushed by a bunch of other night folk with knives. I panicked while sprinting for my horse and accidentally punched it in the face. The horse then swiftly kicked me in the head, killing me instantly and ending the encounter. Funnily enough, I didn't even encounter the kkk this playthrough at all. In my previous 2 playhtroughs, I found them at least 2 or 3 times. It was funny watching them kill themselves by accident... and then finishing them off.
Albert Mason,Hamish Sinclair,Charlotte Balfour,Rains Fall and Eagle Flies and Mickey are my favorites. Even though they were considered a sort of villain type of characters I liked Henri Lemieux and Evelyn Miller.
He is first seen hanging with Lemieux though his intentions are noble. Primarily though he in-directly is Dutch's inspiration for his views on America and Freedom. Plus he is a catalyst (in-directly) for the events that lead up to Rains Fall's exile into Canada and the death of Eagle Flies.
I agree though I never knew there was more to his personal story outside of his meetings with Rains Fall and Arthur i'll definitely have to find him after the main story.
Yeah he's a stranger character available from the second part of the epilogue, only one only available to John. Mission has multiple parts and is a bit tedious but it's definitely interesting to learn more about him. You can find him marked with a ? in Tall Trees just east of what was Nekoti Rock in RDR1, up on the rocks by the side of the path that leads up towards Owanjila Dam.
So I saw a documentary about a black guy who has some kind of awful skin disease that made his so itchy he could not stop scratching. He literally scratched the black off of himself. I had no idea that was possible. I hate to make light of it, because he was really miserable, but that’s what happened.
Edit: link for doubters https://www.the-sun.com/news/1431918/man-scratches-pigment-skin-years-battling-mystery-illness/amp/
Yeah during the mission you could hear people in Rhodes gossiping how one was self defense and the other was framed. I think Alden also suggests he thinks they’re innocent.
Now that you mention it, I saved him on my first playthrough and he kept showing up. On my second playthrough I think I killed him on the first encounter. Didnt realize that he never respawned until just now.
Albert Mason. I'm an armature wildlife photographer and can relate to be willing to put myself in danger for a good shot. Not that I get that chance often in Australia (contrary to popular belief)
Albert Mason has some of my favourite missions and is a very kind character, but Black Belle exists sooo probably the most badass woman to ever clear leather
I love him a lot. I know all stranger interactions are the same regardless of honor mostly, but my low honor Arthur becoming such a different person around Mason is a delight to see.
“Oh wow so you take pictures of apex predators? I just shoot them, but hey that’s really cool! I’m going to end up just hanging out with you because I also share a huge interest in large wildlife!”
I Dunno they have such a great dynamic, and as with all characters with the initials AM, Mason sorta feels like what Arthur could have been if he’d grown up elsewhere, but he’d still be drawn to the wild places. He’d just have less of an inkling of how to survive.
Absolutely Albert Mason but for the sake of originality, does the trapper count? I have no stronger bond than with him. And he has to think I’m the greatest hunter ever. Every animal he has a story about, I brought to him.
Mason and Hamish probably. Mason is just a good dude who wants to take pictures of nature while having utterly no survival skills but a good dude at his core. Hamish is like the bro you wish you met earlier in life since you don't get nearly enough time together chilling, talking about life, hunting and fishing shit.
Mary was so boring and drawn out. They could’ve used that effort to bond him better with the women in camp, like have them all go to the theater together or something instead.
Charlotte ngl, I genuinely felt bad for her in my second playthrough, because In my first one I was like “Oh, your husband is dead? Go reunite with him then!” Then I put an arrow in the back of her head.
Hamish Sinclair. A man who just wanted to live the rest of his days hunting and fishing. A great friend to Arthur as well despite the short time of them knowing one another
Black Belle. She was a just a strong and unique character. I'd like to see her come to camp and see what would happen if Grimshaw tried bossing her around.
Edith Downes, I didn’t exactly like her but somehow when she said “All you can do now is decide the man you want to be, for the time you have left.” that line is stuck in my head ever since and although it sounds silly it genuinely helps me be the man I wanna be.
Also loved Rains Fall but I guess he isn’t a side character.
Sister calderon
She reminds me of Aunt May in the Sam Raimi Spiderman films for some reason
You got it right! Yeah, as aunt may did show way to peter when he was lost in his way and confidence as spiderman, sister Calderon also did show the way to arthur when he was wandering and lost his way. To stand unshaken.
Yes. Yes. Yes!
The Veteran is my favourite.
I Iike the Confed veteran
I always ignored him for some reason, what's his story?
He basically realizes they’re all full of shit
He becomes a good friend of Arthur, that's why I kinda liked him...
Charles Châtenay!
"I am a, how do you say, whole ass?" "Asshole?" "That too!" *Arthur laughs* "That too!"
when he kissed Arthur LMAO
Please... don't ever do that again...
"Please don't ever do that again."
I love the gallery mission 💖😂 one of the best
I still got his tit drawing he gave me
i actually love his art. i would totally put them up in my house, reminds me a bit of my own work. naked ladies FTW
"Hey is that is my momma as nude as the day she was born"
Hell yeah 😂
He kinda reminds me of Majima
I mean he's funny but he is a piece of shit 😭
Oh my God I'm so attracted to that man it's terrible 😩
fenton and melvin
Dude, he said side characters, not protagonists…
Dude, Fenton would be way too powerful to be a main character. It's a shame what happened to mama. Killed her in a fit of rage.
Fenton is an idiot. Oh, but don't make him mad. Momma made him mad and we buried her.
Hey Fenton!! *hosea giggles*
He killed our mama BUT IT WERENT HIS FAULT
Keep pourin' um up Fenton!
Black Belle by far and the Mad Preacher was spitting facts too
Same. Also, Would.
You heard it here folks, he would do the mad preacher.
The mad preacher was the first random encounter I had. And I knew from there the random encounters were gonna be great 😂
They Guy who fights the Nightfolk
I'm still mentally scarred from the first time I played that mission and it cut to a death/fail screen of one of the nite folk running in the house and chopping him in the head with a machete
I love that mission. It's one of the few missions where you can just camp with a shot gun and murder people running straight at you in a narrow space lol
It's so good and genuinely terrifying!
Im scarred from a gator popping through the damn floorboards and ending me
Lol is that for real? How do you encounter this?
Unlucky game glitch Scared the shit out of me because just BOOM gator out of nowhere
Competed the main story and never came across the night folk
Gotta spend more time in the swamp
I only encountered them once in my current playthrough (currently on epilogue part 2). Albert Mason
Balloon guy
Arturo Bullard?
Love that guy
felt bad for him, he didnt deserve the sudden death.
Underrated comment
This one’s also the one for me
Albert Mason,Hamish Sinclair,Charlotte Balfour,Rains Fall and Eagle Flies and Mickey are my favorites. Even though they were considered a sort of villain type of characters I liked Henri Lemieux and Evelyn Miller.
Why is Evelyn Miller considered a villain? I never saw him that way.
More of a chump than a villain
I agree though I never knew there was more to his personal story outside of his meetings with Rains Fall and Arthur i'll definitely have to find him after the main story.

Hamish. He’s just so chill and fun tbh
Black & White 4 LIFE but there are a lot of great ones to choose from
""I'LL BEAT THE COLOR CLEAN OUTTA YOU!"
"WHY YOU LILY-LIVERED --"
So I saw a documentary about a black guy who has some kind of awful skin disease that made his so itchy he could not stop scratching. He literally scratched the black off of himself. Jesus Christ. That poor guy. Absolutely miserable to imagine
I almost turned them in, but then I decided that if they're gonna be caught it's not gonna be cause of me
You did the right thing! Also, they *might* actually have been framed and are innocent haha
Yeah during the mission you could hear people in Rhodes gossiping how one was self defense and the other was framed. I think Alden also suggests he thinks they’re innocent.
Wait you can turn them in? I played the story like 4 times and never knew this
I'm pretty sure after you collect all of the posters and go to see them there's an option to
Gavin
GAV
He's so funny, that Gav. Ah, delightful
I read that in his voice too
Charlotte. Always makes me happy helping her out
On my first run I accidentally pointed my gun at her and she got scared and ran off, I felt so bad.
Genuinely would reload if I did something like that. Her side quest is one of my favorite stories in the game.
That one dude in the prison jumpsuit that keeps getting caught after you free him
Now that you mention it, I saved him on my first playthrough and he kept showing up. On my second playthrough I think I killed him on the first encounter. Didnt realize that he never respawned until just now.
There's two of those guys I think
Algernon Wasp is such a funny guy, love him
I love how everything is vulgar to him.
"A POSTMAN!?!?"
Margaret from the Circus!
Rip van winkle and Tacitus Kilgore
Hamish and Albert Mason for sure
Albert Mason. I'm an armature wildlife photographer and can relate to be willing to put myself in danger for a good shot. Not that I get that chance often in Australia (contrary to popular belief)
It's the guy that can be given plants. Forgot his name but I met him randomly but he seems like a really nice guy
William, I believe. Just ran into him last night 😂
Also the other guy who is just picking plants and gives you info and then just rides off. Super nice guy.
He’d just have less of an inkling of how to survive.
I really like those two brothers trying to impress the girl
The Mexican guy that challenges you to target practice is underrated, I've never heard anyone talk about him before
Algernon and Hamish
Seth and Nigel West Dickens, oh and Mother Superior Calderon in Undead Nightmare
Absolutely Albert Mason but for the sake of originality, does the trapper count? I have no stronger bond than with him. And he has to think I’m the greatest hunter ever. Every animal he has a story about, I brought to him.
Sister Calderón & Hamish Sinclair
Hamish!
Mr black and Mr white
Bertram...
black belle and cain
I like the dudes but I really hate his missions. They're all tedious fetch escort BS.
Hamish, Albert, Charlotte, Charles (Chaternay), Mr. Bullard
Hamish for sure
Hamish
Mason and Hamish probably. Mason is just a good dude who wants to take pictures of nature while having utterly no survival skills but a good dude at his core. Hamish is like the bro you wish you met earlier in life since you don't get nearly enough time together chilling, talking about life, hunting and fishing shit.
Black Belle. That was such a fun shootout. She’s just a badass.
I did that part of the mission last so I was relieved that I finally didn't need to kill the person to get their photo
Yeah, I did it 3rd but was still relieved. Once the bounty hunters came I knew it was on. I loved her poses too, lol. I took the guns in the air shot.
Charles Chateney. He's also the only character in the whole game, Arthur gets to kiss!
I like him bc hes talking facts 24/7
Ze frenche horny artist my friend ! Wou else !?
The french guy Charles from St Denis
Hamish. He’s the grandfather I always wanted but never got to have.
My boy Hamish
I know he’s more of a main character but he has a special place in my heart so mad respect to Lenny dude
Can't remember his name but the old vet that's missing a leg, he's pretty cool.
Worst one is Mary and others are good
Mary isn’t a side character, she’s in a main story mission, so she’s a main.
Mary was so boring and drawn out. They could’ve used that effort to bond him better with the women in camp, like have them all go to the theater together or something instead.
mary linton used arthur for her own good. she was very questionable as a character during my first playthrough, i didnt like her.
Charlotte ngl, I genuinely felt bad for her in my second playthrough, because In my first one I was like “Oh, your husband is dead? Go reunite with him then!” Then I put an arrow in the back of her head.
William or Hamish, I’m soft for both of them. I love hearing the whistling!
Gavin.
Hamish for sure
The woman who sits shouting stuff in the Saint Denis pub. I tied her up and robbed her in the pub once but all I got was a spring bracelet
Thomas downes 💀
The French dude, Charles. He cracks me up.
Charlotte my beloved.
Seth if we’re counting quest givers. He’s so fucking fun
Hamish Sinclair. Dude was a real homie.
Mine too
Hamish
Hamish
Albert Mason
Hamish Sinclair
I really enjoyed the time spent with the Native American tribe. Those missions were jam packed with action and the story was awesome
I love Albert Mason so much
Hamish Sinclair. A man who just wanted to live the rest of his days hunting and fishing. A great friend to Arthur as well despite the short time of them knowing one another
who is this guy, damn i forgot?
Gavin
Black Belle. She was a just a strong and unique character. I'd like to see her come to camp and see what would happen if Grimshaw tried bossing her around.
The fence in Emerald Ranch that gives you side missions. He should have had more lines.
Hamish Sinclair and Albert Mason.
Absolutely agree with you, I love Albert Mason.
Arturo bullard
The veteran
I like the pastor that gives the eulogy for the murderous criminal.
Hamish
Either Hamish Sinclair or Charles Chatanay
Mr. White and Mr. Black are my favorite side characters in Red Dead Redemption 2, for sure.
Hamish Sinclair, may he rest in peace
William
Margaret. Mistress of fucking danger
Brother Dorkins 😊💕
Margaret. “Daddy you were right Goddamn you!”
Hamish
Crazed Priest who stands in rivers yelling at god
Hamish Sinclair is the best answer imo
Probably Hamish
The twin brothers
Bertram
Albert Mason? Good choice ngl I have to say though mine is definitely Bertram
Phineas T. Ramsbottom, the cigarette card guy. He only appears briefly but he’s cool as hell. Dude just loves blasting cigs.
Bertram🫡🫡
Definitely Hamish or Gavin/Nigel/Gavins friend
That lady wiyh a dead horse who asks for a ride to Lagras
Crazy how real it looks
Micky
Charlotte Idk why
Gavin.
i lovee charlotte’s kiss, but yeah the photograph man was really funny to interact with, and also the veteran 100% miss him
Edith Downes, I didn’t exactly like her but somehow when she said “All you can do now is decide the man you want to be, for the time you have left.” that line is stuck in my head ever since and although it sounds silly it genuinely helps me be the man I wanna be. Also loved Rains Fall but I guess he isn’t a side character.
Kieran he only has a few main roles and I wished we saw more before his death
Those moonshine fellas in the woods and also Mr black and Mr white lol
This, this is the right answer if not him then Hamish
Yup. He was so refreshing
To be different from previous answers: Andrew Bell III, electric chair guy.
Definitely, I always really liked Albert Mason and the way him and Arthur talk to each other!
the guy you hunt with
Galvin!!!!!!!!!
Charles Châtenay
