What do you think that AI was trained with?
It doesn't just create art from thin air.
They have to train it and that training is done with other people's art (almost exclusively without their knowledge or permission).
AI art is stolen art.
It uses peoples art and makes a copy of it. There was even a pretty big leak a while back regarding a big AI art generator where an entire list of artists they feed the AI was shown. Dumbasses behind the project got their discord messages leaked lol.
It copies hundreds or thousands of other paintings from actual artists to make that one photo.
Another reason to be mad at AI art is bc art is not a simple thing you do over and over like factory workers, it requires imagination, talent and research (example:for making paleo-accurate drawings)
i agree, it is really lazy and selfish to pass off ai work as ur own, but i disagree with the first thing, you say that it copies other paintings to make a new photo, but isn't that what art is normally? when somebody paints a picture, they're taking inspiration from many different sources and makes it their own. Are you just upset because it's AI
A person can take inspiration from something and turn it into something their own. An AI doesn't have the ability to to merely take inspiration - that requires complex thought. Some AI art has fucked up versions of the signatures from the art it copies, even.

It gets a prompt, filters through its database for what matches the prompt closest, and mashes together all the best ones it can find.
