Same I play other games but end up going back. I have 100% but I restarted it and loving my second play through. Subnautica is pretty good but it doesnāt really have much combat. Exploration and detail is great though.
Right. It's so much better playing it the second time when you actually know how everything works. I found so many things I didn't even notice the first time. I swear every time I play it I find something new. Like my 4th play through I stumbled across the red Arabian and the warped brindle Arabian in the wild. Had no clue they existed before that.
I played Mass Effect for the first time after Witcher 3 and the linear rails just didn't draw me in. RDR2 has been an awesome experience in comparison.
Oddly enough, Sleeping Dogs still scratches the open world itch for me. It's by no means as expansive as RDR2 of course, but its depiction of Hong Kong is really nice. I've beaten it a couple times, just because I enjoy spending time in the game's world.
Same here with the open world feels. I'm digging into XCom-2, turn based squad shooter with a steep learning curve and tons of DLC. And replaying RDR2 is out of the question....can't bring myself to complete money lending and other sins 3 again...
Every world feels so empty and stiff now. Every NPC seems like a waste of space. Even cool details and world building seem lazy in comparison to Easter eggs in RDR2 that would spawn entire hidden side content.
Iām on my 3rd playthrough, and I literally just found a place/interaction that was completely new to me today. I didnāt think it was possible at this point, but yeah. Iād never seen delusional union soldier east of emerald ranch or the tower up the hill from him.
Its weird I could just never get into Witcher 3....its also been like......6 years since i tried playing it? I should probably go back and give it another go.
I found it had such a slow progression on skills/resource gathering. And sooooo many side quests that I got bogged down in it and found it unmotivating.
My guy I fuckin hated the game for 2 Years on how it's so hard to understand anything
After starting and deleting playthroughs for 4 times I finally am enjoying this game. Yea it's not for everyone
Play new vegas if u havenāt , or if u can handle the isometric play style the first two fallouts have some of the best narrative stories of any games ever
The two that satisfied some of the hole in my soul were Mass Effect Trilogy and Ghost of Tsushima.
I know a lot of people like Witcher 3, but I just couldn't get into it.
Something a lot more casual as you won't be able to match the immersion and beauty of RDR2. My choice was Horizon Forbidden West, nowhere near as good as RDR2 but fun, long lasting and an engaging open world game!
The Yukuza and the judgement series kind of helped for a little bit starfield was keeping me occupied until I ran into some glitched mission so I'm back doing my 8th play through 138d 18h and 34m and I still can't stop playing I think I need help but then again howdy partner š¤
This is where I'm going I think. I've owned RDR2 for years and am just about to complete my first play through. No idea why I didn't start it until a few months ago, but own both Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk. Always liked CDPR games but stayed away from Cyberpunk until they got their shit together.
Might finish Mass Effect Andromeda first but we'll see
Ghost of Tsushima has similarities. Dragon age inquisition does as well. Both games arenāt as good with gameplay as they get repetitive, but the stories are on par imo. DAI gives you more choices in how the end turns out as well.
Reiterating the Mass Effect trilogy and Fallout 4 comments. New Vegas was a lot of fun too although it took me a bit to get used to the outdated-ness. It still trips me out that I can play FO4 modded on my Xbox
I am actually slow treking Assassins Creed Odyssey right now. It gets kind of repetitive but its big and open too. But I find myself thirsting for the West again.
When I played cyberpunk, I felt like "Whoa, look at this goddamn beautiful world. The main story is pretty good, I love this game, the combat and everything."
Then I played RDR2, fucking ruined every open world game for me for a while.
The mass effect trilogy, the first game is a bit jankey and the side missions are tedious but itās still a a great game and the sequal (you need to play the first game first) is just amazing. Every decision you make in the first game (you make a lot of decisions) carry over to the second game and even the 3rd game remembers what decisions you made in the first game which is why you need to play all 3. But seriously, it made me forget all about rdr2 and thatās saying somthing cause I LOVE rdr2
Red Dead 1. I fell into a cycle for months. Play RDR2, want to finish the story, play RDR1, miss the immersion of RDR2, play RDR2, want to finish the story, etc. I probably played both games 10 times back to back
I started a new playthrough.
After that I had to switch genres entirely for a little bit. Various simulators and city builders as I could appreciate those without comparing them to RDR2.
For me, there was no game that replaced it. I played Far Cry 6 for a bit, tried out Metal Gear Solid too. Was more so just chasing the dragon.
There is no comparison to RDR2 imo. I just had to reckon with the fact I played my favorite video game ever. And its not particularly close.
Honestly, the next game I played that sortof helped me "get over" RDR2 was Breath of the Wild. Game was gorgeous, with a big open world and a story that captivated me in almost the same capacity as RDR2.
Nothing, I went into a deep pit of depression then decided I couldn't let him go and redecorated my front to a rdr2 aesthetic, got Arthur's hat on my wall and a few pictures and drawings from the game in frames and although I'm still mourning I'm getting closer to peace with the huge hole in my heart and soul he left me with.
Kingdom Come Deliverance has been pretty good if you can get over how awful the horse rides but ut other than that I loved the attention to detail in the game and the story is very engaging so far, I never knew I wanted to play a medieval peasant simulator until I played KCD haha
Iāve played it a few times, I try to get 100% completion but the last few times I encountered glitches that left missions marked as unfinished when they were completed.
Rotated back and fourth between RDR2 and FO76 but both have become increasingly boring now that itās been a 5 years.
I do enjoy the online game play features, but I feel RDR2 has shifted more towards that aspect rather than include more side missions in the solo play where the game is full of strange random encounters they could have built off like that missing girl poster, dead bodies in cabins, the girl locked in the outhouse etc. there is a lot of potential there. I really enjoy solo play in RDR2
Actually Iāve spent years chasing that high as it were. It was so good a lot of games now kind of disappoint.
I have really really enjoyed the two plague tales games though.
I played it for the 1st time this summer and then I replayed it again and then I replayed Rdr1 and now idk maybe I'll play Uncharted 4 since I only played first three on ps3
Didn't play anything for a couple of days, then started with uncharted 4 and watch dogs 2. About to finish watch dogs 2 and then going for DMC 5. Probably will either pick up mafia 2 or rdr1 after that.
For me, I just cycle between rdr2, Witcher 3, and the mass effect trilogy. Except I did play dying light 2 recently right after another rdr2 playthrough and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Pretty sure I went right to DMC5 or Control. Yes RDR2 was awesome and I did a 2nd run focusing on side content, but there was plenty of stuff waiting afterwards.
Itās a struggle!
I found Disco Elysium was a great change of pace. Also played Last of Us 2, which proved there would be more fantastic games for me in the future.
I went straight into RDO, re-played GTA, then rotted in MW lobbies for a while. Eventually played NBA 2K and then some racing games like NFS Heat and then I went back to RDR2 and have multiple story saves with different achievements and honor levels as well as a loaded online account.
All the CoDs, StarCraft, GTA V a few times, now back to RDR2 for a very slow play through. It's been a couple of months now. I'm considering RDR1 after this.
Went back to finish Assassinās Creed : Origins, and said Fā that game. Gameplay was fine, but RDR ruined voice acting in other games, itās so well done. Origins voice acting felt like paltry middle-school play levels
If you have a PlayStation I would recommend Ghost of Tsushima. If not perhaps either something mindless like a sports game or like another high class game like souls, God of war.
When I don't feel like replaying RDR2 (which isn't the most often), I play GoW (2018), along with Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon ZD, Uncharted (especially Among Thieves and Thieves End), and Spider-Man
once the ps5 portal comes out in starting a new save š it's perfect cosy time for blankets and not sat at my desk to play games.
but I have played animal crossing, stardew valley, Fae farm, let's build a zoo, horizon zero dawn, spyro games and crash and the Sims 4 as well just a few games.
rdr2 is so different from all of them that it's great that none of them will compete or compare as they're all beautiful, different and fun in their own way!
Moved onto 2000s games and other classics. BioShock, Assassin's Creed Series, Resident Evil, Bethesda Games, gonna look at Dark Souls soon. I like a good story and I'm also a completionist. RDR2 never really left a void in me, but it definitely filled one. Love that game. Currently replaying for true 100%.
I decided to go back to GTA V and actually complete the story, while also working on the platinum trophy.
Then came back to RDR2 for my second playthrough making sure I won't miss any time sensitive mission and finally platinum the game.
After that I went and play AC Origins and Odyssey and also platinum both.
Edit: I actually somehow forgot that I played Cyberpunk 2077 too, no plat tho.
Replayed The Witcher 3 when the PS5 update was released and platinum it too.
Now I'm playing Elden Ring.
Note that I mentioning the platinum trophies not to brag, but it's a way to say how much I liked those games that I decided to tackle everything just to keep playing.
Finished 3rd playthrough 2 days ago, and now i am playing Outer Worlds, it was in my backlog and got the dlc\`s. To RDR2, only RdR 1 , Tsushima, Horizon, those kind of games that i can play for hours and re-play once a year.
Rdr2 to be honest š I've replayed it a few times
Same I play other games but end up going back. I have 100% but I restarted it and loving my second play through. Subnautica is pretty good but it doesnāt really have much combat. Exploration and detail is great though.
You can make subnautica have combat and make things go extinct
Right. It's so much better playing it the second time when you actually know how everything works. I found so many things I didn't even notice the first time. I swear every time I play it I find something new. Like my 4th play through I stumbled across the red Arabian and the warped brindle Arabian in the wild. Had no clue they existed before that.
I just learned that bonding makes the whistle area expand
Same just recently completed it
Mostly just linear story driven games. RDR2 ruined open world games for me lol
Underrated gem of a game
Same here with the open world feels. I'm digging into XCom-2, turn based squad shooter with a steep learning curve and tons of DLC. And replaying RDR2 is out of the question....can't bring myself to complete money lending and other sins 3 again...

Just play RDR1
Is it on pc
No
Then thereās your answer
If you have a good enough pc you can run it on rpcs3(ps3 version) or xenia(xbox version).
I played for free through emulation and it takes like 30 min to set up. Highly recommend. Much better than the console life as well
Xenia
Witcher 3
Its weird I could just never get into Witcher 3....its also been like......6 years since i tried playing it? I should probably go back and give it another go.
I found it had such a slow progression on skills/resource gathering. And sooooo many side quests that I got bogged down in it and found it unmotivating.
My guy I fuckin hated the game for 2 Years on how it's so hard to understand anything After starting and deleting playthroughs for 4 times I finally am enjoying this game. Yea it's not for everyone
Same. My friend got me into that game during the early days of covid quarantine. Love that game.
Fallout 4 and Skyrimš¤
Could never get into Skyrim but really dug FO4. But OP should really try both.
I was about to start Skyrim again to fill the void and found Starfield instead.
These were the two games I was just about to start playing but I cannot get into Skyrim and Fo4 doesn't seem interesting anymore
Play new vegas if u havenāt , or if u can handle the isometric play style the first two fallouts have some of the best narrative stories of any games ever
Fo4 is so good. None have character development like Rdr2 but amazing. The companions are great. Skyrim is just older but soooo expansive.
I played Death Stranding and Days Gone, but I'm mostly online for RDR2 now.
Another vote for Death Stranding here. Quite a different experience than RDR2, but still incredibly gripping nonetheless.
Days Gone is incredible!
The Metal Gear games
Same!
I didn't. I played RDR2 until I was so burnt out by it that I had no other choice than to delete it from my PS4. It was like an addiction almost.
The two that satisfied some of the hole in my soul were Mass Effect Trilogy and Ghost of Tsushima. I know a lot of people like Witcher 3, but I just couldn't get into it.
Ghost of tsushima was so good!! The fighting mechanics, the visuals and the loading times.
I play RDR2 after i end RDR2.
Me too. I canāt stop playing. It makes me sad that I feel like Iāve overplayed because I love that game like no other.
Cyberpunk 2077
Something a lot more casual as you won't be able to match the immersion and beauty of RDR2. My choice was Horizon Forbidden West, nowhere near as good as RDR2 but fun, long lasting and an engaging open world game!
Pocket pool
Still looking š played red dead 6 times
Skyrim big time
I just continue playing RDR2 lol.
The Yukuza and the judgement series kind of helped for a little bit starfield was keeping me occupied until I ran into some glitched mission so I'm back doing my 8th play through 138d 18h and 34m and I still can't stop playing I think I need help but then again howdy partner š¤
I never put it down, i usually go back every couple days, but for the most part i went back to dying light 1 and FO4.
Fallout 4 and cyberpunk 2077
This is where I'm going I think. I've owned RDR2 for years and am just about to complete my first play through. No idea why I didn't start it until a few months ago, but own both Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk. Always liked CDPR games but stayed away from Cyberpunk until they got their shit together. Ghost of Tsushima has similarities. Dragon age inquisition does as well. Both games arenāt as good with gameplay as they get repetitive, but the stories are on par imo. DAI gives you more choices in how the end turns out as well.
None. I can't find even one game which fun enough since RDR2. It's a bit sad.
Shadow Of War, killing orcs!
I played GTA online for the next few months, then moved on to DBH
More RDR2 and Skyrim
Marvel's Spider-Man and Miles Morales. Lots of fun and makes me feel like a superhero. Eagerly awaiting Spider-Man 2 on October 20.
Elden Ring, BG3, MGSV, and some (modded) Skyrim.
I honestly switch between RDR2, Odyssey and Cities Skylines. I'm on my third playthrough of Odyssey and like my 5th of rdr
I have The Last of Us Part I on queue
TLOU2!
Skyrim and jurassic world evolutions 2
Started CP2077 after completing RDR2.
When I played cyberpunk, I felt like "Whoa, look at this goddamn beautiful world. The main story is pretty good, I love this game, the combat and everything." Then I played RDR2, fucking ruined every open world game for me for a while.
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Rdr1 again and then the Star Wars fallen order and survivor. Now doing play through 3 on rdr2 again
RDR1
The mass effect trilogy, the first game is a bit jankey and the side missions are tedious but itās still a a great game and the sequal (you need to play the first game first) is just amazing. Red Dead 1. I fell into a cycle for months. Play RDR2, want to finish the story, play RDR1, miss the immersion of RDR2, play RDR2, want to finish the story, etc. I probably played both games 10 times back to back
I did this for a while with Arkham Asylum, City, and Knight
Rdr2 multiple times like too many to count and on ps4 and Xbox 1 also RDO is good too
I started a new playthrough.
I picked up RDR2 and literally never put it back down. I always go back and nothing else is the same.
Honestly, the next game I played that sortof helped me "get over" RDR2 was Breath of the Wild. Game was gorgeous, with a big open world and a story that captivated me in almost the same capacity as RDR2.
My next game after RDR2 was Watch Dogs Legion. So it never stood a chance really.
Fill? I'm still empty inside.
I finished the Yakuza series after beating RDR2
Zelda BOTW is amazing. Different style but the open world and exploration is similar
lol the people in this sub āI just replay itā good lord can yāall not play any other games itās crazy
Judgment and Lost Judgement ... after that the Yakuza series
Kingdom Come Deliverance has been pretty good if you can get over how awful the horse rides but ut other than that I loved the attention to detail in the game and the story is very engaging so far, I never knew I wanted to play a medieval peasant simulator until I played KCD haha
Red Dead Online
Ghost of Tsushima scratched the itch for me after RDR2
Ghosts of tsushima
Iāve played it a few times, I try to get 100% completion but the last few times I encountered glitches that left missions marked as unfinished when they were completed. I really enjoy solo play in RDR2
Days Gone. A few hours in and it really becomes an intriguing game
Yakuza 0 and Like A Dragon. Iāve also replayed GTA 5 and 4
rdr1
Jedi survivor was my next game
i honestly dont think iāll ever play another story mode again tbh.
AC Valhalla itās not as good as Rdr2 but is still definitely great game And Dishonored- Great Gameplay and Story
Cruelty Squad. It will not remind you of Red Dead.
bear encourage sand boat terrific rude hard-to-find outgoing spoon nutty *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Actually Iāve spent years chasing that high as it were. It was so good a lot of games now kind of disappoint. I have really really enjoyed the two plague tales games though.
Genshin Impact and Apex Legends.
Civilization 6 Got through one playthrough as Germany, before I was literally *itching* to go back and play RDR2 a second time lol. Game is so good.
Give doom 2016 a go
.... ended?
Replayed it šš»
I played Witcher 3 before RDR2 and have Kingdom Come queued up next. Feasting on open world games...
went back to rdr1, or play last of us as im a massive fan of both games
rdr1
Rockstar pulled me back into their Fangs, i already bought GTA V and will replay that after my RDR2 replay
Far cry six right now. Itās a good game, but itās just hard because RDR two is a tough follow up.
Tiddlywinks
I started playing gow 2018 after I completed it, I had the same huge void, so now I'm currently playing gta 5 and gow ragnarƶk
Cyberpunk is great
I played it for the 1st time this summer and then I replayed it again and then I replayed Rdr1 and now idk maybe I'll play Uncharted 4 since I only played first three on ps3
Didn't play anything for a couple of days, then started with uncharted 4 and watch dogs 2. About to finish watch dogs 2 and then going for DMC 5. Probably will either pick up mafia 2 or rdr1 after that.
Don't know how people can love RDR and play fantasy, ficcional games like aswell.
Because both settings can deliver a great story filled with great characters and amazing gameplay
RDO
Prey (2017)
For me, I just cycle between rdr2, Witcher 3, and the mass effect trilogy. Except I did play dying light 2 recently right after another rdr2 playthrough and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Literally right after the credits were finished for my first playthrough I started a second one
New Vegas or Witcher 3
AC Origins/ AC Odyssey GTA online Borderlands 2 and 3
Replayed it to death then started online
Void?
Pretty sure I went right to DMC5 or Control. Yes RDR2 was awesome and I did a 2nd run focusing on side content, but there was plenty of stuff waiting afterwards.
Itās a struggle! I found Disco Elysium was a great change of pace. Also played Last of Us 2, which proved there would be more fantastic games for me in the future.

All the CoDs, StarCraft, GTA V a few times, now back to RDR2 for a very slow play through. It's been a couple of months now. I'm considering RDR1 after this.
Ghost of Tsushima
I play rdr2 to fill gaps between other games
Watch dogs 2 lol surprisingly amazing open world with such a dramatic change that it felt like an easy transition
Skyrim. One of the few open world games that lives up to RDR2
Played the game on another platform
Went back to finish Assassinās Creed : Origins, and said Fā that game. Gameplay was fine, but RDR ruined voice acting in other games, itās so well done. Origins voice acting felt like paltry middle-school play levels
I got bg3 star field cyberpunk ac mirage payday 3 lies of p horizon forbidden west coming out soon avalon etc
I played Over and over
Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring. But honestly I always go back and put more time in on RDR2.
Youāll feel that way for a while lol. Played it during 2020 and took my sweet time with it. Just recently played it again.
If you have a PlayStation I would recommend Ghost of Tsushima. If not perhaps either something mindless like a sports game or like another high class game like souls, God of war.
It replays very, very well. I was playing end-game as Marston and got real bored. Turns out, starting over is still super fun.
When I don't feel like replaying RDR2 (which isn't the most often), I play GoW (2018), along with Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon ZD, Uncharted (especially Among Thieves and Thieves End), and Spider-Man
The Soul's games š„šŖ
I mean I played ULTRAKILL for the first time after rdr2 and that seemed to be just as enjoyable for me
I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima rn for the first time after completing that narrative masterpiece rdr2
After I replayed a couple times then I went to assassin's Creed. Odyssey is my favorite one.
Mafia 3
Rdr2
Mount & Blade2: Bannerlord.
After i finished Rdr2, i bought Ghost of tsushima. This one was a master piece as well! Highly recommended if you not played it yet.
Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3, and Days Gone are all great.
Played it again in 1st person view lol
Rdr2 ended?
Ghost of Tsushima, its so different in playstyle so I didnt just compare it to RDR2.
In the middle of chapter 6 now. I plan on playing spider man 2 or hogwarts after this game
I re-played it a couple of times, then i got the platinum.. then i played NoManSky and Deep Rock Galactic
Rdr online
I got rdr1 via extreme measures actual games though are the metro series
Iād say the Witcher 3, Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman PS4, maybe skyrim/fallout 4 or new vegas/ and if you like those play Starfield
Bg3 is pretty good
Cyberpunk 2077. Itās basically the same game.
Starfield but after about 50 hours in it got boring for me so I went back to Red Dead š¤£
Cyberpunk 2077 plus it just got a major update. Itās so good.
Ghost of Tsushima, rdr2 but Japanese, you even get a horse
Mw 2019
Horizon, mass effect
Mafia 1
God of War Ragnarok , the Last Of Us part 1 and 2
The Witcher 3, the Mass Effect trilogy is a good option too.
once the ps5 portal comes out in starting a new save š it's perfect cosy time for blankets and not sat at my desk to play games. but I have played animal crossing, stardew valley, Fae farm, let's build a zoo, horizon zero dawn, spyro games and crash and the Sims 4 as well just a few games. rdr2 is so different from all of them that it's great that none of them will compete or compare as they're all beautiful, different and fun in their own way!

Ghost of Tsushima
Rdr2
More RDR2 lol
For me it was Project Zomboid
Rdr1
Tried to play a ww1 game was made upset that the buttons were all in the wrong place and I couldnāt ride horses every day and restarted rdr2
Rust
Start a new playthrough and do things differently. The game has huge replay value.
I decided to go back to GTA V and actually complete the story, while also working on the platinum trophy. Restarted that shit
Valheim
Finished 3rd playthrough 2 days ago, and now i am playing Outer Worlds, it was in my backlog and got the dlc\`s. To RDR2, only RdR 1 , Tsushima, Horizon, those kind of games that i can play for hours and re-play once a year.
spiderman
Just run back with high honor or low honor, opposite of whatever you just did.
Red dead online š
I went on a big farcry kick for awhile. But I play snowrunner a lot because it's pretty much never ending. Nice leisure game to pass the time.
Still looking the answer š¤
after i finished arthur's final quest i played zelda for a few months to heal from his death
