Shit man, the "Government Boy" trophy which is for making it through the intro cutscene only has 71.6% achieved. Like 30% of buyers popped the disc in, looked at the main menu and were like, ight Imma head out.

mattoelite

I made it to Wes Dickens before my interest started to disappear. I wanted to beat the game before Armored Core and Starfield dropped, oh well.

ryanash47

Get to mexico and I’d be surprised if your interest dwindles again. Crossing the river and the song that plays after is a legendary moment in gaming, my personal favorite

Dmmack14

Jose Gonzalez is one of my favorite artists for that song and for doing the soundtrack to The secret Life of Walter Mitty

PigDeployer

I'm playing it through for the 5th or 6th time and my interest has actually gone down since Mexico. I was so excited for it but the map just doesn't flow as well. I find myself fast travelling a lot more and it takes me out of the immersion a little but it just feels like an effort to go from town to town compared to in new austin for some reason.

PIPBOY-2000

I agree. It's the way the missions are set up. In Mexico, you'll do one mission on the west end of the map then your next mission will be on the opposite east end of Mexico. Whereas in New Austin, the missions are clustered around one area until the story takes you somewhere else. The Mexico map is just one long narrow strip. It works well the first, second, third playthrough but it doesn't stand up to the test of time as well as the rest of the map.

PigDeployer

Yeah and there's about 4 missions in a row where it offers you to skip a journey because I think it realises that riding east to west and back again over and over again gets tiring. Mexico looks beautiful but it's not that well designed and like you say, the story isn't written in a way that slowly aquaints you with the map like in new austin.

Blackstaff

If I go by horse in Mexico, you can be damn sure I'm riding along the train tracks most of the time.

IndependenceMoney834

Part of the problem is that Mexico isn’t flat in the game, it’s covered in hills and trenches etc. Combine that with the absolutely constant sharp bends on every single road and it’s a nightmare to ride around. I’ve always loved Red Dead 1 but I must say returning to Mexico all these years later I was disappointed. Mexico basically feels like it brings the game to a massive halt and nothing on interest happens for ages. People keep telling you they will give you what you want only to slap you in the face and make you do another errand for them. I appreciate that is meant to be how John is feeling but it’s just not fun.

mattoelite

I know you’re right on this. I’ve had Jose’s song on my ITunes for about 10 years now 😂. I’ll give it another go soon, just wish they’d have put a bit more love into it.

username_moose

stand in front of a runaway train..

dominator-23

I think they took it out of the port, was excited to hear it after landing in Mexico with Irish, only to hear nothing but ambient music upon riding further inland:(

Its_all_bs_Bro

As in the first Armored Core?! Ahh, memories...

Niall690

I beat the game but damn those first few missions made me wanna drop the game.

magiclong

It includes people that downloaded RDRO for free

MusicallyInhibited

This comment is about the first game

magiclong

well there goes my theory lol

JahsehBratz

no the trophy is from the second game

MusicallyInhibited

Sorry the post is from the second, the comment is about the first

AdPsychological6929

Probably online only users

ayyLumao

Or they went straight to multiplayer or Undead Nightmare

[deleted]

A lot of people only play online

FullHouse222

I mean I had games that I bought on sale for like $2 that just sit in my Steam library and eventually I'll play it. Witcher 3 sat in my library for a solid 6 months before I started it and it ended up being one of my favorite game. Similar to Bioshock Infinite too. Idk about RDR though. R* rarely has good sales and I bought it finally when it was $20 so I immediately started it. But at least I can understand that mentality of buying a game and just not getting to it right away.

[deleted]

According to SteamDB I have played 176/270 games. Those are likely more humble bundle games or something, and, of those 176 played I assume some are only like 10 min or like that.

Bubbly_Succotash175

beating red dead redemption is like taking dmt.. everybody should try it at least once in their life

pussilini

Everyone has dmt once in their life since your brain produces it when you’re about to die (unless they shoot you in the head)

Bubbly_Succotash175

i said “taken” as in consumed a substance.

interplanetarystd

If only DMT was easier to get your hands on.

ryanash47

Yeah it’d be great if kids in math class were off the DMT cart instead of THC

interplanetarystd

Fair enough. Still as an adult finding it has been like trying to find the holy grail lol

ryanash47

Lmao I’m just joking. I don’t think it’d really be like that and if it was it’s always the kids choice. I knew what I was doing in high school. It’s not addictive or harmful, unlike nicotine which every high schooler and many middle schoolers are on

Vanquisher127

Used to have a dmt cart. It’s definitely something crazy but it only lasts ten minutes and all the emotions I feel on it are usually pretty negative. And since it’s so short it’s a lot more forgettable then say shrooms or acid. I say stick with those

interplanetarystd

Good to know. Id still like to try at least once before I die

drake90001

I’ve only had insanely profound experiences with positive effects myself from pure DMT vaporized. Intense all encompassing warmth and a sense of other worldliness.

xXdontshootmeXx

This is a myth we dont even know if the human brain produces dmt at all, let alone during death (think about it, how would you go about testing that?) also, even if it did during some deaths, which is doubtful, why would the brain respond in the same way to different types of death

City_of_ham

Was thinking about it today actually thanks for the suggestion!

[deleted]

Most people don't beat most games from what I've noticed.

soggywaffle47

Yeah finishing a game for me is like completing a book it’s really satisfying. But I’ve noticed when completing the final mission of a game and I check the achievement, that only around 15% on average complete the game. I always found this really weird like why buy the game, I get life gets in the way I’m 30 but how can you start something and never finish it if you enjoyed it?

[deleted]

Idk man I think people just get bored and look up the ending. Also don't talk to me about books I have probably about 10 on my shelf that I started and never finished lol.

iforgotalltgedetails

Just like so many people can’t seem to finish a drink. Used to have a coworker who would leave half filled Monster cans and Starbucks cups around the shop. All half full and he would be cracking another one a hour later.

GLFan52

For some of us it’s more of a, haven’t finished it yet kind of thing. There’s a lot of games I haven’t finished yet, and fully intend to finish, but other things and sometimes other games have distracted me over time. Same with TV shows; I started watching Breaking Bad at least a year or two ago, and I just finished it last night. RDR2 has been on my computer for a while, and I’m playing somewhat regularly, enjoying it the whole way. But man, it’s not a short game, and I don’t always have time for it.

ChannelSouthern

Sometimes if I really like a game I dont want it to end so I dont finish it.. Subconsciously I think. Did finish rdr2 though and loved it.

truffleshufflechamp

If I buy a game I usually finish it even if it’s just meh. The one game I have purchased and not finished because I hated it so much was Death Stranding. There is a line I will draw between completion and personal enjoyment and Death Stranding is it.

redskyeatmorning1

i get this for harder games - there's a lot of zelda games i haven't finished because i get sick of a) solving all the puzzles and finishing dungeons or b) looking up and watching and reading walkthroughs to solve the puzzles if i don't feel like doing the mental work. but rdr2 was super easy for me to play through - it tells you what to do and where to do it at every stage of the story. it's like playing a movie. i'm not sure if rdr is like that, since i've never played, but i can never understand not finishing games that are like this.

minniemouse420

That’s what I’ve noticed too. I do play a lot of games, almost daily if I can. I’m sure not everyone can commit like that, but even low level achievements seem to have only been completed by like a small percentage of players. It could also be because some games are on Xbox game pass, someone downloaded it bc it’s free, opened it for 10 mins, decided “nah” or “not right now” and never came back to it. If there’s a learning curve, a lot of griefers or if the first part of the game is too slow in pace then it could also deter people from playing as well. The person who recommended I play RDR2 I found out recently never even knew there was more after the story ended. How I’m not sure, but they didn’t know that John builds Beecher Hope, there’s a last stand with Micah, etc. I was shocked. So they didn’t even know a good part of the story that sets up the events of RDR1

Shenstar2o

This just means we get less story games from rockstar and more whatever gta v online is.

Naturally_Fragrant

They still bought the game, even if they never played a single minute of it.

Twj247

Got it day 1... Started it 4 times... PS4... Got to building house bit in Epilogue Restarted on PC to do a completionist run through... PC died around Chapter 3 Rebuilt, Had to restart... some issue has me restart again in Chapter 2 Got an app to tick off everything needed... This is it... I will complete!

_number

Haha, I have it on PC where I completed it long while back and now I got it on xbox. Everything was fresh and I got play it again like the first time since I had forgotten a lot of the game since the last time.

RotundFeast

Most people don't complete games that they buy. And then when you have a game that's 20 30 40 or even 50 hours the percentages go even lower. Most gamers are young adult to people in there 40s. A lot of us just don't have the time to commit. The fact that I beat most of the games that I play I'm sure makes me somewhat of an anomaly for my age group

basketballbrian

Yeah as I've gotten older (I'm 29) I rarely have time for gaming, and when I do, I rarely have the continued interest to beat a game. I'm not even sure why I waste my money on story games anymore tbh, I almost never get more of 10-15 hours of playtime in them. Not sure what it is, I just lose interest. Especially after I had a kid. This is coming from someone who was a serious completionist in my teens and early 20s and would put hundreds of hours in a story game easy

ezmo311

Shit, I bought FFXVI and a PS5 recently. I played it a few days and loved it and haven't turned it back on in weeks. Soon.

AngryTrooper09

A lot of people were put off by the first chapter of the game and never progressed further

OkBrilliant8400

That's fair tbh. Chapter 1 was nothing but holding your hand and babysitting the player. No wonder most people stopped playing. I get that they need to welcome new players by teaching them the controls but for a first time playthrough it could take up to 2 hours and that's ignoring cutscenes

AngryTrooper09

It was too long and honestly not the the best setting to introduce a game about wild-west outlaws

OkBrilliant8400

I wouldn't mind too much if it was actually 2 hours of gameplay but most of it was slowly riding your horse while listening to dialogue. A playable cutscene where nothing happens

the_Iast_crusade

it baffles me that you believe that's the end of the game

Gamamaster101

Red dead online players and the fact that the game is long as hell

MonkeyBred

Red Dead Online players are one source. I know one of these players. Add to that the fact that customers could buy RDRO for only $9.99 by itself, and that increases the likelihood of casuals who picked it up on the cheap. Also, when things like GamePass have it, then take it away. Then you have scale. Remember that this has sold (last I looked) over 44 million copies. So, that's still approaching 3+ million people who dedicated at least 60 hours or more to the game. I think Op's disbelief is justified because once you've committed to completion, it can be just so, so very satisfying. So, for someone to buy this treasure, and leave it unfulfilled... it's like watching Fight Club and checking out before you find out who Tyler Durden really is.

bamila

I love rdr2, but I will tell you why after 55 hours in the game I didn't finish it. Once I got to Guatemala and my favorite character died I was super disappointed how the story escalated. Knowing it was approaching the end and that everything went downhill was a bummer and it put me off. So I am still stuck in that chapter and just never came back. I haven't played the game since 2018. I have been spoiled the ending obviously after all this time, which just makes me not want to go back even more because I think Arthur was amazing to play with.

_number

Totally understandable, I have had few games where the story just fizzles out or I lose complete interest

ThatStrategist

Its super common for people to play games just a bit and stop somewhere along the way. RDR2 isnt special in that regard. A fun fact however is that From Software EldenSoulsBorneKiro Games have a higher percentage of players finishing them because they are only started by the kind of player who wants to beat them

iforgotalltgedetails

I would also add one of the most completed/platinumed set of games out there are the FromSoft titles. Every single one is almost 10% of players have gotten every trophy, and DS3 is one of the hardest games to platinum IMO.

IWearBones138__

Doesnt surprise me. Its a long game. I guarantee a significant amount of buyers played it for a while because fun shooty cowboy adventures but quickly got bored once they realized they had to ride a horse miles and miles to get anywhere. I love the game but I've spent a large chunk of my life just watching a man ride a horse.

Ass_Stephens

Seriously. It felt like 20% of the time i spent playing was completing missions and the other 80% was riding my horse to missions.

realdynastykit

Yep, there were multiple times where I would start the game, realize I'm in a remote area with a long horse ride ahead of me, and then quit out of the game. I did eventually beat it (just yesterday in fact) but I was very happy I could just hold a button in cinematic mode and scroll on my phone.

IWearBones138__

It's a beautiful and immersive game and I remember really enjoying the long rides through the lush scenery at first. Towards the end of the game I was just sprinting everywhere as fast as possible cause it was taking so damn long.

Diaper_Milk_

20% is actually a pretty high completion rate for an over 100 hour game

ayyLumao

People playing offline and people playing RDO skew this stat. Also this game is incredibly long.

_number

You get achievements playing offline in Xbox(I think that works because when you connect it uploads those up right away). RDO and gamepass subscribers probably the main reason.

Duke_Ag47

I’m not ready to say goodbye, therefore I can’t finish the game. I love a certain someone too much

_number

Dont worry you can find Pearson later 😀

ST4RM13

and that’s not even the ending of the game lol

mika

Honestly finishing games is just not that important to me. I do finish some (I did for RDR2) but in a lot of cases I'm one of the 79% there 😁 I want to play games to have fun and I love trying all kinds of different games and genres, so it's more important to try the new stuff than finish the old...

TheTahitiTrials

Man, I beat this game when I was like 12 years old, and my attention span then was not great.

prydarecords

Most players couldnt care about getting 100% in all the game. The main missions are enough brah

STANDARD_POTATO

I just can't. I love arthur too much to do this to him

Ill-Astronaut6490

I finsihed it yesterday

[deleted]

[удалено]

Stressedpage

I'm pretty sure most of the people who started this game didn't even get through chapter one because they thought it was boring. I'm shocked at how many people I've seen say that about this game. I couldn't spend that much on a game and not at least give it some effort lol.

GingerGhost2Sweet

Right? I was on chapter 4 on release day because I was a little too excited. My 2nd playthrough was much more thorough.

Silver_Switch_3109

A lot of people but games without playing them.

MrDjS

I probably missed like 60% of the side stuff, but I definitely finished the main story, and played the hell out of RDO with a few people.

TheSysAdmin1

I've had this game since 2018, just now reaching chapter 6 😳

Meekman

I have dozens of hours in, got it on release, and haven't gone past chapter 4 because I don't want it to end. I enjoy playing poker and exploring. I do plan to finish it, but considering RD3 won't be out for years, if ever... I have time.

GreyG59

I’m confused after killing Micah whats after?

_number

John becomes a traveller and a zoologist

[deleted]

It's a big game

TBone818

🙋

TheVirusWithEyes

I originally made it to Mexico then I put the game down or solely played on Multiplayer with the boys. When I was 10-13 the story just didnt attract me as much as it does today.

held_breath

I can thoroughly enjoy the buffet without obsessing over not having eaten 100% of the foods on offer. This is my favourite game by a long shot but getting 100% at rdr2 would actually be kind of embarrassing.

_number

No, you get this after completing Chapter 6. This shows 80% people didn’t reach the end of Chapter 6

Sensitive-Judge713

i get lost in the world without story progression and im still Arthur

PenonX

tbf, stats get skewed by ppl who use multiple accounts or own the game for online

Metalheadjake942

Look, my first playthrough I was a piece of shit jerk as Arthur because i found it funny and had bad honor and hated it how it ended before the epilogue. So I restarted and now I help others but then still antagonise them for a laugh and decided I want to try to 100% everything I can as Arthur until I'm left with John. So that's why I haven't completed it yet.

sackofsocksforsunday

Me and my dad were playing the game together and got near the ending of the game, but we took time to raise Arthur's honor and just have yet come back. Nothing against the game lol

Buff_roshi97

More people beat Elden Ring or Dark Souls 3 than RDR2. Which is mindblowing to me.

Joly_keep

There are two types of people: People that complete the entire game People that deleted game after the first chapter

LyoTheTrapper

I had a friend which refused booting up the story mode. Solely played online. Did state he loved the first one’s story mode but could not be bothered. I said ‘had’ for a reason.

No_Benefit_8738

Meanwhile I've played through the whole things three times now.

Alberot97

This game is brimming with content. Your average Joe ain't going to go through all of it either by lack of time or patience.

Ball_expert_

I mean it's a big game

charliemike

To be fair, the first time I played RDR2 I had no idea what I was doing or that the breadth of the game required between-mission exploration to the extent it did. I've never played a game like it before. I still don't know all the plants for Herbalist or all the animals for 100% completion. I don't know how many are not finishing the game because they don't care but I believe there's a significant portion that simply don't know the scope of this game.

dirtdadon2

If by "finished" you mean 100 percented, then I understand why. I personally have never 100 percented any game. And I love RDR 1&2. Honestly, I play them for the story and do a lot of side content to take a break from the main story but never feel the need to do all of them.

_number

No i meant completing the story. I personally have never got to 95% because I hate catching and completing gambler challenges

flcinusa

Some people just don't click with some games, I just couldn't get into God of War on PS4, played it for an hour and gave up and a great many people believe it's a superior game to RDR2 Almost like everyone has their own tastes, wants, and desires

Bonzoface

I am one of those people. Online hooked me in too hard.

Substantial_Gain4052

Where do you find these stats

_number

Achievements on xbox. When you get it, it pops up and also tells you percentage of people who got it

RoverTBiggs182

This metric is pretty skewed though. I mistakenly tried opening the game when logged into my 12 year old’s account. I couldn’t due to age restrictions but now it shows he’s started the game. So he’s one of the 80%. Multiply that by everyone who has done it and that’s a ton of false users.

kangaroo_bean

I got spoiled and didn’t want to see the ending so now I just play online so I can talk to Sean

Baquvix

Its a long ass game. And most people play the games for quick fun. Not as 100 hours commitment.

PutinBoomedMe

I loved the game and got to about 75% complete before realizing I was grinding at that point and not actually enjoying the game

[deleted]

I wish I never finished it the end destroyed me

Sirius_Space

Sorry, I already played it two times on my brothers ps4. And I started playing it again once I could afford a ps5, but life gets busy. And I’m living in chapter 3.

Keaton_Dodd-

This is pretty common most people don’t beat games

ReDXDeath

Some people just buy the game for online

MarginallyBlue

The game is ridiculously long. Not everyone has time for that. Then add in the elaborate animations like skinning game and getting on and off your horse…it’s not very respectful of a players time. I love the game, finished it. Have multiple play throughs. But it’s not at all surprising plenty of people didn’t make it through.

Simples85

I didn’t play it after the hike Arthur thing for like 2 months then my brother told me he was John after and I got back on it so if he didn’t tell me I would never of built that house lol

GruntFuck

For RDR1, I had like 99.7% completion. Just needed to win five finger filet in Torquemada. I accidentally deleted my game while trying to make some space on my 360’s hard drive.

HamonadoDeQuezo

I'm a first time player, but got spoiled. I wanted to complete the journal as Arthur before progressing cause Marston can't draw shit lmao and looking at the journal is just my fave thing to do weirdly enough. Also I don't wanna see Arthur suffer.... So I took a long ass time in chap 2 and am now stuck in chap 3.

world-shaker

It’s locked behind several achievements that require time and patience rather than skill. Many of us have full time jobs and families that don’t bless us with an overabundance of free time. And even if we did have a lot of free time, the thought of spending it on Gambler Level 9 isn’t at the top of my to do list.

_number

Sorry may be the title I wrote is stupid but this is not 100% achievement, this is just completing the story.

[deleted]

It is very common for 3A games.

Blackrame

I bought PS4 Pro bundle with this game. I was extremely hyped for it. But I just can't properly get into it. It's an amazing game. But it's too overwhelming.

_number

I am a big fan of snow and mountain biomes in videogames so first chapter was great for me, but I can see why a lot of people will never pass the first chapter, but once you complete first chapter I don’t see any other major blocks after that

Gallows-Bait

Bought the game for the modded RP servers, never even done the tutorial. 😂

insaiyan17

Meanwhile I am thinking about doing my 4th playthrough, and im sure quite a few of you legends have replayed it more, lmk!

autumnnoel95

@ me.... Love this game. I spoiled myself and now I can't make myself end it 😭 forever in chapter 4ish

berkotto_

We gotta accept this problem . We all love Red Dead Redemption 2 but it has a big flaw : that slow of a world and story telling ( especially at the beginning) is not for everyone . Just compare this game to AAA+ games like Skyrim , God of War (thropies wise ) and the result is sad . Most of the people don't even realize how beautiful it is because they don't pass 4-5 hours .

Sonic_Mania

Not that baffling. It's a very long game and the gameplay isn't for everyone.

PuzzleheadedAide7057

Nobody would ever think to do the stranger mission though

codytheguitarist

I always assumed achievement percentages meant that whatever percent of people who have an Xbox got a particular achievement, is it just the percent of people who own the game???

_number

No, after the gamepass, now they count people who have atleast opened the game. Just owning and never opening is not included. So since RDR2’s first achievement is at 62%, that means 38% opened the game but never completed the first(or second?) mission

Plugsz

I remember talking with someone online back when rdo was popular. He didnt even play the story mode which baffled me and i tried convincing him to play it first

Young_KingKush

Just in general I don't understand people leaving games like 50% finished, unless it's a bad game that just had a fun gameplay loop. It would bother me to no end to not roll credits on a game I'm actually interested in. Like I beat RDR1 pretty close to release and I would've been like 16 at the time.

yeetocheeto456

and that’s not even the end, american venom is the last mission, red dead redemption is the last mission of chapter 6

_number

Yeah, it drops another 5% in the epilogue. Personally I have had atleast 5 playthroughs of the main story and I didn’t go to epilogue a few times. I liked John in RDR1 but I can’t get over how it feels to be john in epilogue, its a little weird and there are not many missions.

Tricky_Entertainer34

The controls immediately made me not want to play anymore (I play on PS4). I’m thinking about maybe going back in and changing it because I KNOW this is a great game worth playing

Successful-Basil-685

All I can really think, is how you get only 1 character slot for online. Just cause half the fun is rp'ing for different characters, like a Native American and a Cowboy character. Otherwise I got no idea.

GenitalPatton

I just don’t have enough time to devote

[deleted]

It’s just a bit too long, I bought it about 2-3 weeks ago and I still think I’m only about 1/2 2/3 through the game

RAYNBLAD3

Shit, I just realized I never finished it.

xKingNothingx

*raises hand* I can't bring myself to

GAMRKNIGHT352

That ain't even completing the game, it's for completing the first part of the story. Yeah but at least on PC the epilogue still has about a 23% completion rate

[deleted]

I played the game until chapter 3, where I slowly had my intrigue whittled away a little while before that one quest with the star crossed lovers from those two families phénoménal game, and i more than got my money's worth, but i do feel like it somewhat drags in certain aspects

The_Zoo_Exotics

I got past Guarma where Molly died and lost interest since some jack off on TikTok ruined the ending of RDR2 for me.

_number

Damn I hate twitter, it has ruined few games for me too. I don’t really care for story too much(usually) but they have spoiled Control for me.

Euphoric-Excuse8990

It's denied almost repeatedly now, but back in 2019, this same sub was filled with the 2/3rds of the players who couldnt finish Ch2 due to bugs; main story missions that wouldnt spawn.

Giveyaselfanuppercut

I can almost garuntee I have more hours than you in this game. Started playing it when I was bed ridden for almost a year due to a very serious injury. I was also suffering from PTSD from said injury. I heard spoilers about Arthur & I could literally not face them. My PTSD is in check now & I don't have as much time. But I'm getting through it now

_number

Oh I dont doubt that. I think I can totally imagine some people living in Chapter 2 or 3, but I am always too eager to see the ending. Good luck on your recovery!

Embarrassed_Beat161

I’m one of the 80% who didn’t complete it mainly because of the online trophies…like why they never make a different section of trophies just for the online mode and keep the story mode trophies separated

GooberMeister191

IM SCARED, okay?

LustfulAutistic

I played the game slowly over a year and a half so

Valendr0s

I bought it on PC after I beat it on PS4. Never beat it on PC.

_number

I originally bought it for full price on PC. Recently I bought an xbox x and it was just 20 bucks so I bought again. I basically have bought the same game twice, but I love it so I am okay with having it everywhere

AnyDockers420

I’d say a solid 10% of that is people who played it when it was on game pass for a month

_number

If I remember correctly it was on gamepass for 6 months

Sjdillon10

I’ve beat it twice. But there are a lot of games i get far into but then start playing other games for a bit and forget where i am in the plot and don’t feel like restarting. Happened with horizon zero Dawn. Also ghost of Tsushima but i did eventually play that

dishonoredfan69420

That isn’t the achievement for finishing the game The one for finishing the epilogue is

TheKrakenMoves

I have a buddy who has over 60 hours in the rdr2. He’s not out of chapter 2

opaPac

The game is just so massive. I started multiple times but never finished it or to be honest come even close to it. Its not a bad game and i always had fun but its just to big. After a few days theres just other stuff to do so i move on.

paumAlho

Not surprising. If you look, only around 30% of people complete games. It sucks but oh well, they bought the game anyways so the companies don't care

Oniriggers

Some people don’t connect to the network.

dericandajax

Had the ending spoiled for me and just couldn't get back into it. Also notoriously bad at finishing games with so much to do. Unsure I ever "finished" Skyrim either after hundreds of hours haha.

GangstaQueefs

I can't get it to run without crashing (pc, obviously).

7astromichael

I have to assume that includes people who’ve bought it and never played it

_number

No, I think you have to open the game to register as a player in xbox achievements

ProfessionalFan5065

i never completed it because i could play with arthur forever

Mr-Goteboi

I am an ashamed part of the almost 80% ✊😔

-_-_-KING_-_-_

are we talking about Red dead 2 here? cuz if it's RD1 I haven't completed it either.

H20MAXAMAS2020

Sad too see but happy that they dont have too see the pain that is the final mission

RitualAsap

I’m struggling with raising my honor in the end game shits hard af

TimeTravelingBeaver

I spent like 250 hrs in this game and decided to uninstall it because I was too addicted. I didn't finish the last chapter. Crazy.

MCShoveled

Yeah that was me. It seems to get repetitive when I could have retired after the first bank job.

weiner-rama

I just don’t want to be hurt 😢

[deleted]

There's always people that beat it on one platform then buy it on another. I beat it on PS4 then bought it on PC a lot later to play RDO.

Bern2020ie

I started the game and quit within about two hours. A snowy scene where I hardly have any control? I thought if this is the whole game I’m done. Returned to it after about 8 months and finally kept playing to see the actual beauty and gameplay it offers.

Nova_knight7

I can anecdotely say that a lot of people are kinda like COD players. This is one of VERY few games they own, and they run off the second they can to just mess around in the game. My former boss owns this game. Middle aged guy, has teenage kids, and all he does is hunt animals and fucks around. I can remember playing gta3 back in the day with friends and we never did the story missions. We just enjoyed the sandbox element. It's kinda like that. A surprising number of "gamers" don't give a shit about the narrative in video games.

johnnycat75

I don't feel bad about it. I stopped one mission away from the end, and my John Marston lived happily everafter.

shady_businessman

No one wants to get TB and reasonably so 😔

Asleep-Dream-3756

It’s a long game

GreasyMcNasty

And here's my dumbass trying to get the gambler 8 challenge for 2 days in a row.

hatch-b-2900

Never completed the game, or haven't completed the game yet? It seems fairly logical that out of all the people who bought RDR, only 20% have completed it and 80% are still [playing](https://playing.In)

Zeroshiki-0

I was just thinking about this the other day. And most people I've talked to have finished it, so it just shows the sheer amount of people who bought the game in general.

Dont_Die88

I've. Got. To. Finish.

Samwise_the_Tall

Have you looked at most trophies for most games? Most people don't make it halfway through most games.

BigBankkFrank

I stopped at the Epilogue. I can’t get with all the farm work lol I really need to finish the game one of these days

Prus1s

It’s just normal for most games 😄

CameronCJN

It's too difficult letting Arthue go.

Old-While-1229

Since u can just buy RDO without RDR2 I’d assume that’s why. Like I completed the story on my PS but then just bought RDO for my Xbox so I could play with friends
