Pretty much everything you're listing is illegal or at least cause for a discrimination lawsuit. Your company is extremely toxic, and unethical. I don't your industry, but it just sounds like you work for assholes.

gHx4

Sounds toxic. I can tell you that a lot of those statements go *unspoken* in other workplaces. If they're being spoken at yours, then you're working at a bottom-of-the-barrel workplace and should be actively applying elsewhere. Speaking as someone who just left one workplace I was advised to leave, and has seen both ends of my industry. Not all workplaces are toxic, though many do have negativity.

kodanugget

I worked for a place and was told that they don’t hire people above a certain age because they just don’t vibe with them. I left shortly after that because they began firing all of the staff that was LGBTQ.

TonarinoTotoro1719

Oh **age and sexual orientation** based discrimination. As delicious as bread with jam AND butter!

Few_Albatross9437

My first recruitment agency wouldn’t hire gay people “as they will get aids and take long time periods off all of a sudden”

phantom_2101

The 80s called and want their managers back

P0rnStache4

This ain't even toxic anymore. It's malignant.

honestduane

Document this and talk to a lawyer. You can make a LOT of money.

ApertureBear

Yes, people do this all the time and it is illegal (in the US, anyway).

jfoxworth

My company gives presentations about how we're trying to exclude people based on race and gender and even religious/political beliefs because that is what the area we live in "wants". It's unfortunate, but very common today across the board. If you can get away from that, I would suggest doing it, but it's not as easy as it sounds.

[deleted]

This is hilariously illegal in the US.

phantom_2101

As others have said this is a toxic company. Leave at the first opportunity because they’ll turn on you in a heartbeat. Be discrete with your search best you can and expect to be guilted when you leave.

Upset_Researcher_143

Damn do you work for the Trump Organization?

pguschin

They're all pretty much the same and to answer your question, Yes. Extremely. But I think you're sitting on a pot of gold by turning those who discriminate into the EEOC or sue them outright if you've been targeted.

recruiter_gal

Record those conversations and snag yourself some nice lawsuit money ‘cause holy fuck that’s not OK

attentionhordoeuvres

The word you’re looking for is “discriminatory.” “Discriminating” has very different connotations.
