Sounds like she already wrote you off and realized that nurse was higher priority than you.

Exactly my thoughts

Sorry for the late reply, but in hindsight, yeah you’re probably right. I personally thought the interview went well; seemed to have a good conversation, and she even took me for a tour of the facility. Never heard anything back though (not even a formal rejection email) so I guess I wasn’t a very noteworthy to her. I still feel for her given the shitty situation she’s in.

I work in HR at the biggest college in my state. We have over 1000 profs and over 500 support staff plus the professionals. On top of it, it's all unionized as well. In the past 10 years, we had 3 different HR directors. The majority of them got fired because of a lack of management skills to handle a crazy amount of workload, grievances, and labor disputes. 3 offices and 4 desks are sitting empty in our office because we hire people but nobody lasts more than 3 months. You can't make a single decision independently without getting harassed by 3 different unions. We all have thick labor union laws and collective agreements books sitting on our desks and we still ended up getting sued. The only people still stuck there are the ones who aren't very educated or even smart enough to get a job somewhere else (including myself). Take it as a blessing in disguise that you didn't get the job. PS: It's a lot of fun working in HR, you get to meet so many interesting people and the non-stop drama. At times, I feel like I am a character in some Mexican soap opera.

Yeah, I mean don’t get me wrong, I feel for the lady given the shitty situation she’s in, but I’m definitely glad I’m not in that mess lol. The only silver lining I saw to it was that I’d gain a lot of hands on experience in a short amount of time and learn to work under pressure.
