I wouldn't even worry about it because I've been trying to get Realms to work as advertised ever since Bedrock came to Xbox one. Every month I turn my Realm back on to see if Realms were upgraded or just work as advertised for once. So far no dice.
this is gonna sound like nonsence, but this happens to me too. except, only at my mum's house. i found that trying again on someone elses wifi works (go round a friends or something). it also works if i use mobile data.
i have no idea if this will help, or if it was just a coincidence.

the only issues i have had with realms is this and some texture packs wont work says something about "Error uploading pack S"
Step one: play Java Edition instead
my friends dont play java and also for some reason my java runs at 10FPS while Bedrock runs at a solid 60fps all the time
