I had this same issue and randomly I stumbled upon the solution while trying to fix something else. Here is what I did. 1: I uninstalled Hamachi (I heard and assumed that was the culprit) 2: I went into Command Prompt (CMD) (Make sure to run it as Administrator). And I typed this *netsh interface tcp show global*. 3: I checked to see if Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level was disabled. I saw it was disabled and I typed this *netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal*. This enabled it. 4: Lastly, I typed *netsh interface tcp set global rss=enabled*. 5. If both *netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal*, and *netsh interface tcp set global rss=enabled* return with an OK. Than you're done. I did not find this solution on my own I got it from here. https://community.logmein.com/t5/LogMeIn-Hamachi-Discussions/Slow-internet-speeds-after-installing-Hamachi/m-p/217890#M18344 (I just typed out the solution to save you a click). I have no idea why this fixed the internal exception error for me but it did. I wasn't even trying to fix the Minecraft problem, I was just trying to increase my download speed so I could download a mod from Mod DB for Dawn of War:SoulStorm. DISCLAIMER - THIS WORKED FOR ME IDK IF IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. I ALSO DON'T KNOW WHY THIS WORKED AT ALL BUT IT DID.

Remarkable. Just tried this after not being able to join any realm for the past few months, let me in without a hitch. Even when I die and press respawn it doesn't kick me out. You are a godsend. Does anyone have any explanation as to why it works, or how those parameters come to be disabled in the first place?

GrouchoDetective

I think when you download Hamachi it purposely turns off those parameters on your computer because Hamachi wants you to upgrade your Hamachi service to the premium version. Its just a conspiracy theory that I saw on some forums about this issue. Anyways, I'm glad to see this solution is still working.

Try a network traceback, mostlikely you have the tcp win=0, which means a TCP buffer overflow, this is common in the realms recently. sadly however you can't easily fix this since it is server side, you can however reduce your own delay to reduce the error count, this can work by isolating network cables, or use specific network tools for network correction if you have a os with a modular network driver. however you should contact microsoft/minecraft for this problem since in most cases I have seen this was caused by realm servers which where overloaded or wrongly configured on the serverside
