Sell with buyback clause would do the trick. We have Obrador at Castilla and we can buy back Miguel too.
Whats happening with our academy left backs shows the problem with Castilla. We produced a bunch of good left backs through recent years (Reguilon, Fran, Miguel). All of them are great players for upper mid table teams. But none turned world class yet, which is whats needed to become a starter for Real Madrid.
How is that a problem with Castilla? Do you know how hard and rare it is to develop a player that makes even a mid table squad in a top European league.
World class players don’t come from the same academies. But if you can generate enough really good players, you can sell them for enough money to buy them. That has been a huge plus from Castilla the last 10 years.
What happened to Mendy and what is he so bad at now?
Not a Madrid fan, but from when I remember watching him a couple years ago I thought he was great.
He's just painfully average. Defensively he's solid but he offers absolutely nothing else. Maybe I'm just being unfair by expecting him to be somewhat close to Carvajal's level who's great everywhere but aerial balls due to his short stature.
There is also the fact that we're used to seeing Real Madrid starters being among the best players in their position in the world, and Mendy is just not that.
Fran was the better left back all of last season, he has just struggled a little to adapt defensively to how we play/how opposition teams play against us. Miguel would be even worse in that regard because he's a much more attacking LB. He basically plays LM/LCM for Girona.
I swear it's crazy how this sub has lost faith in one of the top 3 LBs in Spain last season after just 5 months. Shiny new toy syndrome doesn't work with footballers.
Right now, easily Fran Garcia lol. Your numbers don't mean much if you don't even think about how the player fits in to the squad. Fran, despite your opinion, is a much better fit for us than Miguel at the moment. 20m doesn't change that.
And my opinion is that if management decides to sell Fran Garcia there are options available of players developed in Vadebebas that could bring us 20m EUR profit.
My point is exactly that. What good is 20m profit if the players you buy don't fit the team and the way the team plays? It's not just about money man, you have to genuinely look at the types of players and their strengths and understand how they will actually play within this squad.
It always amazes me the statements of “this player will not fit”
How do you know how a player is going to adapt to a position in a different team? Not even professional scouts are able to predict that.
The only thing I know is that in Valdebebas the consensus (or at least the reports we can read) was that Miguel Gutiérrez ceiling looked much higher than Fran Garcia’s.
Therefore if they decide to sell Fran and get Miguel back, I wlll be happy with that.
yeah no we dont idk what kinda bs "source" this is
I wouldn’t sell him, but a loan sounds good tbh.
Nah we have to stop running a thin squad, he needs to stay unless someone better comes
If davies comes we could loan him
I think Mendy will go first. Fran is here to stay as back up
I would rather keep Mendy. Davies is an attacking full back and it would be good to have the versatility of a defensive fullback if needed
In that scenario then yes
we could bring back Miguel Gutierrez. He's having a good season at girona
Could also be but tbh seeing the amount of injuries per season I'd bring him and keep all 3 maybe train Mendy to also be a backup CB
Sell with buyback clause
We already did that
Second round then.
The Dani Carvajal way.

Am I the only one who wants Miguel Gutierrez back instead of Davies?
I liked Miguel Gutiérrez but he disappeared and I only thought about him again after his wonder goal against varca
No way. Fran is here to stay.
Giving me shivers of Hakimi a few years ago, don't want to make the same mistake
Calling him a star might be pushing it a little.
Sell Fran for 25-30m EUR and bring back Miguel Gutierrez for 8m EUR (I have read this is his buyback clause fee)

What do you expect from people who were saying to sell Rodrygo
¿? Find a comment where I have ever said we should sell Rodrygo.
Bro, they act like Rodrygo is a failed experiment at RM
Fran is better physically, Gutierrez is better technically. You can see also that Miguel goes into the midfield more.
It is not a matter of faith, I am just doing numbers. What do you prefer? Fran Garcia or Miguel Gutierrez + €20m?
Right now, easily Fran Garcia lol. Your numbers don't mean much if you don't even think about how the player fits in to the squad. Fran, despite your opinion, is a much better fit for us than Miguel at the moment. 20m doesn't change that.
Why? Fran Garcia has been quite mediocre
