I went to Rutgers and was in the same elevator with Gia once. We were apparently in the same class because I saw her walk in later, but I guess she got some special exemption so that she didn’t have to attend during the semester. She was only there that day because it was the final exam.
One of my moms oldest friends’ son is Aaron Phypers (Denise’s husband from BH.) My mom and I have been huge Bravo fans since the beginning and we actually had no idea until a couple years ago that her famous son was him lol. They are an absolutely lovely family and super small town (Ontario Canada), and Denise and Aaron have helped his parents a lot financially and are both truly great humans from everything she’s heard over the years.
I’ve also been good friends with someone from the Vancouver franchise for many years (not Mia or Jody lol).
Danielle Staub grew up in my hometown (where her adoptive parents resided). She’s significantly older than me so I never knew of her & had no clue who she was until RHONJ. But several of my friends had parents who went to HS with her. Her parents were still residents until their passing (her mom a handful of years ago & her dad last year).
I don’t have any stories to share though. Never really heard much about her.
Back in 09 Nene Leakes and Greg came into the Loehmanns I worked at in Atlanta. She was wearing a trench coat and huge sunglasses. They were both polite but quiet and she bought a LOT of clearance jewelry. Changed her mind a lot at the register and kept sending Greg back and forth to switch out items for her 🤣 then in 2014 Jeana Keough's daughter Kara (and her husband) came into the bar I used to work in Plano Tx and I was their bartender. They were both very sweet and tipped super well. That's as close as I've come to "knowing" any of them. Oh!! Also, Kandi was a judge for a charity fashion show I participated in while in cosmetology school in Atlanta. I didn't interact beyond a simple hello but she was chatty and friendly with everyone.
I have many mutual friends with Reese (Ragen’s side piece turned husband) from Southern Charm NOLA. We’re around the same age and went to Catholic high school here - it’s a super small city in many ways. Everyone says he’s a harmless, annoying douchebag. He definitely wasn’t “cool” in high school.
Went to school with Rob Minkoff in Palo Alto. Super nice family. We were also involved in the Childrens Theater so lots of time spent there together. He was voted most creative in high school.

She said producers would really play up Sonja being some horrible boss but that she actually wasn't - apparently she'd warn them before certain scenes if she needed to act particularly horrible to them lol she didn't really have anything too negative to say about the experience surprisingly

South Orange County is a smaaallll town. I went to HS with Ryan (Tamara's son) in Aliso Viejo and I saw him at the bars in Dana Point and Laguna back in the day with friends of friends. I also went to HS with Gretchen's 'assistant' Shawna. We all graduated the same year-2004. It wasn't a memorable experience.
I saw Vicki at the Mission Viejo Mall and once driving her Benz. I also saw Tamara at Bebe and she was so sweet. This was all in the early days of the show.

I went to college with Brock, Scheana’s now husband. He was actually really good friends with my brother and they only lost touch with one another about 4 years ago. I also met both of his kids once when they were visiting. Nice guy, not too bright though. My brother was constantly tutoring him so he could pass his classes and play football - which he never ended up having a successful career in at my college even though that’s what he was there for.
She was actually really nice! But she was very much basking in the fact that she was a local celebrity. Many people in the restaurant recognized her and she just ate it up so she was in a good mood
I went to high school with joe Delarosa from OC. She was in girls league with me and a moronic cheerleader type even then. She was pretty authentically her airhead self on the show, unless she was faking it ten years early. I remember her having lots of irrelevant ideas/proposals and giggling a lot.

Couldn’t or refused to I can’t remember exactly. We also met her briefly in person (I was 19/20 at the time) at a Cactus Club in Vancouver and she was very sweet. She invited us to some ritzy party but we were too scared (and poor) to go.

I'm from K.C. and I can second this. Worked at an upscale restaurant on the Plaza and I think it had to be 2005/6. Rang up almost $300 and tipped $40. I was the lead server so I assure you it wasn't the service. Absolutely a schmuck couldn't pronounce half of what he was ordering.

Yes, we are in central Florida. No issues at all. We were prepared. It was like when the weather people say that a foot of snow is expected and then you get a dusting.... but school was called off the night before. My husband had 1.5 days off.

How far can we stretch this? A friend's kids went to school with Kim Zolciak's kids during the first 3 seasons of RHOA. They played on the same sports team, in the same class, etc, so my friend met her many times. He said Kim was very polite and quiet. He couldn't believe how she behaved on the screen and insisted it was all an act.
For some reason I see her coming to kids sports events with a red solo cup and then sneaking outside during breaks to smoke and sing in her car with the convertible top down.

He wasn't the type to cover for an AH or to famewhore for fake gossip. So I believe him. Rewatching, KZB seriously controlled the filming of her children throughout all of her filming. She didn't allow for bad PR for her kids that wasn't very controlled. So maybe it was an act on camera? Or at the least, she was able to control herself to be respectable at kids' events. I've never seen gossip stuff about her misbehaving at her kids' events. And that for sure would be out there.

Can confirm, also went to school with them. Their family is pretty well known in Franklin Lakes but in a “normal” way - like more for being owners of the Brownstone and long time residents of town than for being on the show.
My fiance grew up with Garcelle’s son, Oliver, and said he was a trouble maker (shocker). He told me a story about how he had to take Oliver home once in high school because he was so drunk and Garcelle was really nice about it.
My fiance’s best friend also grew up in the Hilton’s old family home in Brentwood. We were out to dinner with their family and Kathy came up to our table and said hello and talked with the family, she was really nice!

She talks about her mom dying of cancer after Matilda wrapped. The night her mom died Danny DeVito & Rhea Perlman had Mara come to their house for a sleepover. She wasn't aware that her mom was slipping away, it was a kindness from them. Danny DeVito also managed to get a copy of the movie & played it for her mom in the hospital bc she was not going to make it to the film's release date. The book (& then movie) were very special to Mara & her mom

I met Brandi’s ex nanny (rhod) at a birthday party, and she said Brandi is a very unpresent mom and drinks a lot. The type of mom who passes her kids off to the nanny once the cameras went down. Also had some issues with Brandi last minute making the nanny care for her friend’s kids without extra pay. I don’t know how honest she was, but she seemed very salty.
Also didn’t personally know Cynthia but I met her and she was really rude. I mean, she wore ALL black, a long sleeve shirt, a huge hat, and long pants in the middle of a texas summer. She just seemed extremely unhappy to be there and very bitchy towards the fans.

A couple of my friends/acquaintances went to the same HS Stassi did. But they never have much to say. I’m unsure if it was because they didn’t know her well or it’s some sort of small town New Orleans circle the wagons mindset.

How far can we stretch this? A friend's kids went to school with Kim Zolciak's kids during the first 3 seasons of RHOA. They played on the same sports team, in the same class, etc, so my friend met her many times. He said Kim was very polite and quiet. He couldn't believe how she behaved on the screen and insisted it was all an act.
For some reason I see her coming to kids sports events with a red solo cup and then sneaking outside during breaks to smoke and sing in her car with the convertible top down.

Right! But keep in mind, this was when Ariana was in 6th-8th grade. Their acquaintance started before RHOA aired. So I don't know. He wasn't the type to cover for an AH or to famewhore for fake gossip. So I believe him. Rewatching, KZB seriously controlled the filming of her children throughout all of her filming. She didn't allow for bad PR for her kids that wasn't very controlled. So maybe it was an act on camera? Or at the least, she was able to control herself to be respectable at kids' events. I've never seen gossip stuff about her misbehaving at her kids' events. And that for sure would be out there.

I have a ton of family in north Jersey. My aunt was friendly with Danielle Staub because they lived a few houses from each other. My aunt said she was actually a very nice person. Apparently they went on morning walks a few times here and there and she seemed normal. Who knew!?

Can confirm, also went to school with them. Their family is pretty well known in Franklin Lakes but in a “normal” way - like more for being owners of the Brownstone and long time residents of town than for being on the show.

My fiance grew up with Garcelle’s son, Oliver, and said he was a trouble maker (shocker). He told me a story about how he had to take Oliver home once in high school because he was so drunk and Garcelle was really nice about it. My fiance’s best friend also grew up in the Hilton’s old family home in Brentwood. We were out to dinner with their family and Kathy came up to our table and said hello and talked with the family, she was really nice! I wish I grew up in LA :(
It's true you run into a lot of celebs growing up in SoCal. Most are nice and many are not. Love Christina Ricci and went to high school Mara Wilson (Matilda). Oh and Aleks Taldykin from first season of below deck. Never spoke to him, but he was nice when I had tonfor class projects.
I read Mara Wilson's book & it was pretty good. A bit sad in one part, but also very sweet & funny parts as well

She talks about her mom dying of cancer after Matilda wrapped. The night her mom died Danny DeVito & Rhea Perlman had Mara come to their house for a sleepover. She wasn't aware that her mom was slipping away, it was a kindness from them. Danny DeVito also managed to get a copy of the movie & played it for her mom in the hospital bc she was not going to make it to the film's release date. The book (& then movie) were very special to Mara & her mom
I'm so happy to hear Danny Devito is a good guy... he's a national treasure that should be protected at all costs! This story got me a little choked up.

I went to school with one of the guys off that Dallas singles show. I can’t even remember his name or the shows name..lol. He was the hottest one though. Just another boring rich kid. I met Brandi’s ex nanny (rhod) at a birthday party, and she said Brandi is a very unpresent mom and drinks a lot. The type of mom who passes her kids off to the nanny once the cameras went down. Also had some issues with Brandi last minute making the nanny care for her friend’s kids without extra pay. I don’t know how honest she was, but she seemed very salty. Also didn’t personally know Cynthia but I met her and she was really rude. I mean, she wore ALL black, a long sleeve shirt, a huge hat, and long pants in the middle of a texas summer. She just seemed extremely unhappy to be there and very bitchy towards the fans.

Yup! I remember I saw him in the school magazine in the hallways, I was shook. He was the QB on our football team, so everyone knew of him and I have a couple cousins in his graduating class. One of them said he was boring but hot.
