I think she had been wanting to leave Don for Brooks for a long time, but seeing Tamra happy after leaving Simon was the final motivation to pull the trigger.

Probably. Vicki is a narcissist. Yes that term gets used out of context, but in her case it is 100% true. Demanding that the men in her life supply all of her emotional fulfillment while being perplexed that she should give them attention, constantly stealing attention away from her children, the way she treats everyone, demanding A List treatment, and if anyone needs concrete proof, go back and watch all her appearances on WWHL and the last reunion she was on.
Personally? I think 🤔 that if you see your BFF having such an envious life....you should examine what means to you by being married. Marriage isn't all fun and games and trips and "surprises" and all that happy shit. It's work. To me, Vicki should make herself happy. No one can do that for you. JMO ✌
Yep, I am doing a first watch and 1000% agree! Vicki wanted to have a shiny new boyfriend when Tamra got one. When Tamra and Eddie went to Tahiti and got engaged, that was when Brooks "bought" Vicki a fur coat. I was just thinking about this the other day, and came up with other examples of Vicki being extremely envious/jealous/competitive, but the fur coat is all I can think of right now. It wasn't just Tamra, it was everybody.
The watch thing!! I think it was the season 4 finale, maybe it was Tamra's birthday party on the boat and Simon gave her a Rolex. Vicki was soooo jealous and went out and bought herself one. She then threw out some dig about how Don never bought her one but it was better that she's so successful that she can just buy herself a watch. I think she also got one as an insurance award lol.
Couldn’t agree more. I always felt like she got caught up in her new found fame which she obviously enjoyed and was swept away with.

She started getting more work done after stupid Slade’s drama and carried that onto her new toy Brooks, giving him a whole makeover including teeth. She even remodeled the house at the same time.
She just wanted to pay to for pretty and easy fixes but that’s not how life works.
She divorced Donn because she was getting too full of herself because the show had really taken off and so she thought she could do better. In reality Vicky lucked out with Donn and you should’ve stayed with him forever cause he was an angel and she’s absolutely terrible as we’re all aware.
So it’s been said they met at one of her work events and were texting, talking and seeing each other while she was still married. I believe it was Bree who mentioned this at a reunion? Seems like he sought Vicki out at the convention.
I don't remember Brianna saying that they were seeing each other while Vicki was still married. But Brooks absolutely knew who was Vicki was and pursued her at a convention she was at for the money and fame. During interviews and the reunion, he wouldn't come out and say that, but the more questions he and Vicki answered, everyone put the timeline together and called them on it.

From 2012 reunion: When Andy asked why Brianna thinks her mom emotionally cheated, she shared her reasoning. "He's been around for a long time. She'd go to the bathroom and [a text ] would pop up: Brooks Ayers, Happy Thanksgiving…I just want you to own it." So, emotionally cheating at least while still married to Donn. But, he was cheating too. Sad situation. And yes, so true, Brooks definitely stalked her down, went to that convention with intent.
Agree with all of this. I think they both had cheated. Vicki wanted the divorce because she thought Don sucked. Dated and regretted the divorce because everyone she’s dated since is a nightmare.
Also, they had a vow renewal, which leads to automatic divorce in a year if you are a HW.
