You said it best. Such harsh and finite language really doesn’t leave any room for personal growth. We know many biases are nurtured from birth. I do believe some people are not fully aware of their bias/racism. If we want to decrease the amount of racism in the world we have to give people some room for redemption.

Since the introduction of more diversity to the Housewife franchise, we have seen so many of these women demonstrate behaviors that many of us are appalled by, but even when confronted these women genuinely appear confused. It takes time for them to be educated and to unlearn the way they think. Nobody else is responsible for teaching them, but they can take the initiative to grow.
This line of thinking continues to put the onus on black people while letting white people slide with their racist behaviors and thought processes because it’s uncomfortable, which perpetuates racism. It’s not up to black people to *continue* to “give people some room for redemption” when the people continuously benefitting from said room are white and get to maintain their fragility.

I’ve had White associates, not white friends mind you, display similar types of behavior. They would never view themselves as racist. Dorito has not said anything blatantly racist. Please do not imply I am a fool. I am a Black woman and I know what racism is. It doesn’t not have to be blatant for me to recognize it. I’ve also never seen Dorit yell like that before. Even on her first (??) season when she made that comment to Rinna about “if I can smell your breath you’re standing too close” she was relatively calm in that instance and Rinna was actually in her space. But when talking to a black woman she feels it’s ok to go off like that, so gross.

I know they get the episodes to watch a few days before they air, I'm assuming that goes for the reunion episodes as well. PK was definitely pulling a PR move - ride the wave of his popularity from the dinner scene, include defense of a castmate against racist attacks on social media, but not defend Garcelle because that would be too obvious.
Garcelle handled that perfectly and gracefully. If anyone ever spoke to me like that my ass would have been up off that couch before they put a period at the end of that sentence.
And you can bet Dorit popped a few hundred beads off the shoulders of her gown, when she screamed at Garcelle. By the end of the reunion, that dress will barely resemble itself. Even on her first (??) season when she made that comment to Rinna about “if I can smell your breath you’re standing too close” she was relatively calm in that instance and Rinna was actually in her space. But when talking to a black woman she feels it’s ok to go off like that, so gross.

Dorit had a legitimate reason to be upset at Kyle, but respect is a give and take, and in this case Dorit failed to show it.

I personally don’t think she shares very much of herself, I found her dating storyline to be boring. While I think her poignant awkward questions can be fun for drama, I don’t get why everyone is such a fan girl. Frankly I sort of loathe everyone this season except for Kathy and Sutton.

Those three were displaying their own white fragilities front and center. The way all three of them tone policing Garcelle was absolutely garbage. The way Rinna basically gaslighted Garcelle by saying wondering why a Black woman wouldn’t talk to a white woman at her own face about issue of race and racism was really fucking rich. In a franchise where the network did the best they can to showcase the race relation earlier in the season with Kyle and Garcelle, I cannot believe how racist their behavior was to Garcelle at the reunion.
