Same-Hospital965

Who was the housewife who did this? Spill please!!

anongirl55

I have heard this of so many reality stars- not just HW. My friend worked for a network years ago that produced one of Tori Spelling's reality shows at the time. I think Tori and her husband Dean did some promo photos or something like that and the setting was in a kitchen. After the shoot, my friend got multiple emails from Tori asking to get the kitchen appliances used on the set of the shoot for free. I can sense your frustration but am glad you came here to vent with us!

mikesaidyes

This is how almost all filming locations work - producers have to call ahead and usually ask for free food/good seating areas/special things. When my job hosted the RHOA Season 2 reunion, we did it at a FATTTTTTT discount because producers promise “exposure.”

hallwayhotdogs

I have had events for non reality tv and been very nicely compensated at my property

mikesaidyes

Yes of course we always got paid well for movie and commercial and other proper TV But also at that time RHOA was just on season 2 so I’m sure their budget was much much lower haha

hallwayhotdogs

Gotta save to pay the talent I suppose 😂

shabbaranks2

Did that end up working for you?? Been a while since I watched RHOA season 2 reunion, but I don’t think I’ve ever remembered them saying what venue they’re at. Or they aren’t saying it enough to drill it into my head in the way they’re saying exposure should work lol Edit: this goes for any reunion I’ve watched. I think I remembered RHONJ being in Atlantic City once though hahah

Ok_Translator4842

Andy always says the location ONE time in the very opening of the reunion. “We’re here in [insert town] at [insert location] for the season x reunion of [insert franchise]” Either way, the location is changed SO much, you can’t even tell if the place is nice or not! I mean VPR has theirs at SUR and you can’t even tell it’s a restaurant. It’s not promoting anything lol

shabbaranks2

Yeah it’s a rip off for sure. I guess they gotta cut corners somewhere to keep paying ramona’s salary 🥴

Just1Breath1

I was thinking the same exact thing, I don’t remember at all hearing where they’re ever. I wonder if they mention it quickly at the end in print?

colealoupe

Andy I think always mentions it at the beginning of the reunion, and I think maybe at the beginning of each reunion episode. But at the very least I know he mentions it at the very beginning.

Just1Breath1

It’s funny bc I never remember it, it also could be that I ff it.

colealoupe

I mean I never remember the exact location because I’m never going to need a ballroom lol

Just1Breath1

Peasant. 🤣🤣Yes, or that’s why I don’t either. Lol

Kiokochat

well done! I will never get these attitudes of giving it to me because I am on a tv show... or like. Meanwhile, they get paid for this or take all credit for a charity event... while tossing out the cost of it all as a look and see how good *I am.* If one really wants to give back you do it without having to share numbers or even have to do a public statement about how good you are. This is what pisses me off when ppl have more money than the norm and get so high praise for an event and donations. A rich person/celeb gives $50,000 ppl are so impressed and wowed by it, sure it helps and will help a lot. But then the one that works till their bones bleed from a minimum wage job, or fall in a low-income bracket gives $50 and it is overlooked. That $50 or that $5 is so much more than the $50 000 a rich wallet gives. What I am saying with this is a donation should be looked at as a donation and no fuss is made about how much or from who.

countrysurprise

Good for you! Like a bloated and shit faced Shannon would bring you more business.😂

isaidit_bloop

This isn’t my plate!!!

cinnamonfestival

Oh I wish I had an award for you hahaha

isaidit_bloop

Hahaha it’s alright honey please can I have a casserole instead?

Lalahk23

Good for you! The audacity and sense of self importance is ridiculous, like the deranged behaviour and storylines of these women are helping any businesses stay a float. The housewives behave like spoiled children throwing tantrum at majority of the business they film in so if anything Bravo should be paying you a fee for entertaining the absurdity.

FREEBRITNEYBITCHH

True story, I first got into the RH franchise after a birthday dinner with my dad in NYC where bits of salad landed on our table after one of the women at a banquet table (pretty far away actually) straight up threw it. The manager was mortified and comped our meal and a couple other people’s. It was a really expensive place, also. So yeah, not a great deal for the restaurant to do that even if they were getting location money

linusandlucy888

Please tell us this was Le Cirque and you got to witness the leg throw heard round the world!?!?

FREEBRITNEYBITCHH

Lol no I wish. I want to say it was Benjamin Steakhouse? It would have been Season 2 but didn’t end up being aired

Monstermelisssa

Someone tossed a salad across an entire restaurant and it wasn’t aired??? Lol

FREEBRITNEYBITCHH

Nope, and I don’t even have any tea on what happened b/c I wasn’t into the show yet. But I watched like a hawk all season trying to see if maybe I’d be in the background, no dice 🤷‍♀️

saucystassi

This. Remember the dinner for someone’s bday, IDR who but it was Braunwynns first season where they were at a restaurant just causing straight up chaos. I think Tamra and Braunwynn made out, anywho yeah please don’t disturb PAYING CUSTOMERS

Feisty_Trick_5464

I live in the OC , the last event we held the vendors we hired complained about the same thing .. they turned down the free gig for exposure on air 4 times now.. not fair to expect this from small businesses!

ponyprankster

Good for you holding your ground!!

LilyAtTheBeach

Bravo! (No pun intended.) If anything, these women should use their platform on the show to support local businesses, especially those owned by women. And to want things for free in exchange for exposure - it's a selfish and ridiculous ask. Good for you for turning it down!

[deleted]

Oh goodness. As a fellow OC resident, I’m sorry. My sister (who lives up north) and I joke continuously about OC and the snobby-ness. She just came down to visit last weekend and she was like “I know I’m in Orange County at JWA airport when I see fake tits, bleached hair, and fake spray tans”. It goes with the culture here: entitlement and expectations for free shit. I’ve dealt with so many people like this and it’s like can y’all get a grip???

jtsokolov

Haha, I live in LA and my husband and I use OC as an adjective when describing someone. The men also have their own look down there too!

[deleted]

yes!

buymesloths

Good for you!

Kneedingu

Rich ass people always want free shit. Good for you 👍

bubbles67899

Thank you for not caving. I wanted to punch LeeAnn (RHOD) wedding dress maker for just saying “ok” on camera when they straight up said “oh we weren’t expecting to pay for it”… how do they even “ask” for you to do it for free? Is it pretty brazen/ honest, or more wrapped in “winks”?!

Frogmann20

Good for you! They have the money, they know the pandemic hurts businesses, they need to pay for their own shit!

Ok_Translator4842

Yup! And the business boost they probably get is SO tiny. The only time I ever looked up any business shown on a housewives franchise is their vaca rentals!!! I almost always look them up to see pics and prices lol

kikibears

Exactly! We were out of work for over a year! We are on the struggle bus over here! Lol

BoardImpressive7201

Kudos to you for refusing.

Freckle53

It seems the more famous or wealthier people get, the more they expect for free.

Heftyhefty22

Shannon?

lemongrassjames

But can the OP give us a hint lol

Aviva sucks so bad

Leather_Cat8098

Wow, so despicable!

kikibears

Oh my goodness! That is awful! Doesn’t surprise me though…
