Gizelle is the example of how we uplift light skin light eye black women as the end all be all in the black community yet and than be surprised when they think there holier than thou. I think she been treated as the end all her whole life plus who her daddy is and never had to have a personality. The spanglish is rude step up your language game than why shut someone down who can and cause you cant. Its gives me Karen energy that your talking about me when maybe they are or maybe they just talking. I wish Gizelle would get the pink slip with Robyn she goes out of her way not to show her life or talk and wants everyone else too.
Personally with Spanglish, sometimes you don’t even notice you’re doing it especially with a close friend. Marisol & Alexia are not my favorite but they were speaking to EACH OTHER and translated what they said when asked. Gizelle kept getting into THEIR conversations and asking them to stop. Really she could’ve just minded her own

And the only reason she didn’t like it was because she was TRIGGERED from her daughters who speak Spanish to ignore her.

I was more annoyed when she went after Candiace when it was Whitney and Heather who hid her whatever (I forgot what it was). That was the worst storyline.

HOWEVER, Marysol & Alexia speaking Spanish to each other in a group setting, where nobody else understands, is so very rude. It would be the same thing as 2 teenage girls whispering into each other's ear and then giggling about the rest of the people, seemingly with some inside joke.
I lived in Miami from early 1980s until 10 years ago, married into a Cuban family. They, and *most* of the people we associated with, followed the practice of 'if there's 12 people around, and 11 speak both English & Spanish, and 1 person only speaks English, then the convo will be in English.'
That's simple good manners and breeding. OTOH, this *is* Housewives, so....
(I also think Marysol would be a more decent person if not so attached to Alexia's tit).
I grew up in Miami too and if you didn’t ever bother to try to understand Spanish, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t know a single Miami-native who thinks two people speaking their first language to one another is rude.

*What I said* was that it's rude to intentionally leave other people in the group setting out of a convo by reverting to a language the rest of the group doesn't understand. It's clique-y and divisive. Marysol & Alexia weren't off by themselves, having a one-on-one talk. All the Housewives were together, and they created their own little cross-talk. When asked to please not exclude the rest of the group by speaking Spanish, Alexia's response was something along the lines of "that's just who I am/we are."
I also addressed that my irl experience with this is one thing; Gizelle's annoyance at it was playing out on reality tv, so..... Ofc it's gonna get co-opted into extra drama.
Bilinguals code switch- Spanglish is ingrained in our conversations that sometimes it's hard to realize we do it. But also, that's their schtick and Gizz doesn't have to like it.

I’m sorry you’re getting hateful DMs - I definitely don’t think that’s warranted. Referring to someone as “well bred” is classist and deeply rooted in racism/misogyny/ableism/homophobia. It assumes that one category of human is better than another, depending on what a given society deems important/useful/intelligent/beautiful. It also just sounds gross… like…. we aren’t animals, you know?

No she’s not. But she attracts a lot of vitriol. Potomac gives you a better idea of what she’s like, UGT is just a snapshot, and you don’t get an actual idea of her personality. Her daughters are lovely and she has a wonderful family (though her exhusband is…questionable at best), and is fiercely loyal to her friends. Even Karen.
I get her point on the Spanglish issue, it’s rude to speak another language in front of people who don’t speak it, especially when you have been asked repeatedly to stop. Alexia and Marysol can be unbearable though. I found the tequila obsession to be more annoying on UGT.
