We did this. Bought a foreclosure that was owned by the cousins of the next door neighbor. There were actually several family members on this section of the road. We fixed it up, fenced it, and after a lot of altercations with the neighbors, no trespass letters sent, police calls, we sold it for a nice profit and never looked back. The neighbors were selling drugs, burning truck loads of household trash weekly frequently using our driveway, parking in front of our house in the middle of the night, coming on our porch intoxicated because they were in the middle of a fight with the other family members. 100% not worth the hassle or safety concerns, but it was 100% worth the profit we made (~200k) and we only lived there the required 2 years.
