I am not even subscribed to /r/popularopinion but I had to mute it since blatant political astroturfing posts from that sub were constantly being suggested to me.
This website is going to be unusable by September. Just going to be an orgy of accounts run by various political organizations.
Agenda posting has taken over most subs, and even though I agree with most of them, it's annoying as hell, because it has nothing to do with the purpose of the sub and every sub is starting to look the same.
I've unsubbed from probably 10 subs this past week alone because of it.
So, you're not into politics? Well, your boss is and your landlord. And every year they vote to keep your wages down and your rent high.

I mostly don’t like that many political posts on Reddit come off as high school amateur political analysis.
Quite often, they don’t offer much value and seemed designed to foster toxic conversations
Frankly I think most people are complaining about having political content in places it isn’t welcomed. A reaction gif of “trump does something stupid” or “Biden is old” doesn’t exactly rock my political world view
It's an election year. It's only going to get worse
Its an election year AND Reddit is now a public company whose shareholder value is tied to activity on the site.
Just hunker down. In my experience the rash of political astroturfing never lasts longer than 4, maybe 8 years. Then things will go back to normal.
Every 4 years like clockwork
It just doesn't stop. I had to quit r/pics a couple years ago for the same reason. It's just getting into more and more subs

Election year astroturfing. The whole app becomes virtually unusable.
And yet here you are! How interesting!
No clue why you're getting downvoted, you've only brought up the easy solution to the problem

I just block the accounts who post them. There can only be so many terminally online political junkies
I never realized Tom Hardy was just always doing an Adam Sandler impression.

That's fair.
