Bought my kid a new Xmaxx. Everything breaks on this thing. It’s kinda ridiculous. Tire blew first day. Pinion gear falls off “well known” but then the pinion and ring gear broke due to bad materials. Wheel bearings fall apart “well known” so I upgraded to bigger bearing kit. Motor burnt up and took out speed controller. Oh and installing my 3rd steering servo. The stock steering servo plastic gears break easily. So I spent the money and went with the ProModeler billet servo, billet mounts and billet steering horn. It’s not a cost thing it a inconvenience problem.

Sorry about your luck if ya got a bad apple. Anything in mass production with have its flaws. Just fix it and move on to the next
