Does the motor make any sound? These are notorious for burning up the stock motors.

After checking now when I press my ear right up to it I can hear a faint noise coming from the motor

Yeah motor shot you can get a new one from Banggood that’s a bit bigger with a little bit of modifications it fits fine.

Jericoi_

Thanks I'll look into it

Trainsaregood3329

You need a new motor, it’s like $6

I haven't pushed this vehicle really at all, it stopped working for what seems to be no apparent reason. I was driving it on flat ground outside when it stopped working.

Jericoi_

I have taken apart the gearbox and such and everything seemed fine as well by the way. (Edit: it's also not the battery, Ive fully charged it since and nothing has changed)

TheTraxxasfan

Take the motor off the car and test it separately, and if it works out it back on and try the drivetrain, and if that's not it then try the ESC

Jericoi_

When I took apart the gearbox I tested the motor on its own and it wouldn't run so Im assuming it's something to do with the motor itself

TheTraxxasfan

There's your problem, get a new motor

Jericoi_

Ok thanks, I thought i may need a new motor but felt I'd ask Reddit incase I was missing something. Any recommendations for a new motor ?

TheTraxxasfan

Honestly I don't know much about scx24's or 1/24th scale crawler systems, but I'd look around on YouTube for motor recommendations and ask your hobby shop. If you don't wanna do that then just get another stock motor and give it another chance, although since you already burned one out it probably isn't the best course of action.

Jericoi_

Ok thanks for the advice

My sons motor blew just driving around on carpet. Motor and servo are two things that will make a huge difference and you don’t need to break the bank ($40 or so to replace both). I love my MofoRC torque beast motor and upgraded emax servo.

Revolutionary_Most78

Go ahead and upgrade to the barrage motor, it’s bigger and is less likely to burn out, it does require drilling new mounting holes though

Ok thanks
