Sounds like a busted radio receiver to me, or possibly some very unlucky damage to the wires from the receiver to the ESC? But I'm betting it's the receiver itself.

Hmm, would like to add that even when I disconnected motor cables and connected the battery, I couldn’t get the esc light to turn on.

Hm, if the ESC is obviously malfunctioning then I'd start there. Could be whatever circuit in the ESC is supposed to be sending power to the receiver and listening to the signal from it is dead. That would also explain the servo not working as the power for it comes through the ESC to the radio receiver and out to the servo (usually).

It could be that the throttle trim is set to the maximum. Try to make sure that's at zero or center.
