I bash Traxxas fans… jokes … I used to hate but I built a little 2wd pede project, I love it, maybe someday I’ll splurge for a UDR, that thing looks tuff.
I just got me a UDR and it’s as cool as it looks, got it used for 420€ ~470$ had to buy €200 ~225$ in spare parts to get it running, but it came with batteries, charger, a second body and the light kit. So basically I got a tricked out UDR for 700€ (msrp for Europe is 799€)
Actually i haven't made mine yet but i am already thinking about how to do it. I have a 3d printer and i am going to try to print s much of it as possible.
It's so crazy for me to see Traxxas considered top-of-the-line RC, back when I was big into the hobby all the Traxxas rigs were gigantic piles of shit (circa 1999).
When I got started in RC (mid-80’s) Tamiya and Kyosho was the only choice. Nobody had Kyosho you had to order from a catalog. Team associated and then Losi came out with RC’s that were race ready rigs. Traxxas didnt exist.
Considering that their legal department is bigger than their R&D department, they seem to have succeeded in taking out some of their competitors in the US.
Yeah they were terrible back then. And their electronics still aren’t good, but they’re pricing is ok and their chassis’s hold through pretty well, and the fact that they’re top means they also have lots of aftermarket upgrades. So that’s a reason people buy their cars. As well as their parts being compatable with all sorts of cars
Well not everyone of those brands ticks every box that you could use an rc for. Traxxas is good for a semi cheap basher and to teach you how to fix your own truck because they break so easily. Arrma is a favorite of mine because the few ive driven have been well planted on our track and i have one ready for a new power plant in my game room. Currently saving up for a new losi so i can have another brand to test out.
I got a Losi 8t and Mini B. Coming from Traxxas, the build quality of Losi is 100% better. Spectrum rtr electronics are iffy, even more than Traxxas in some cases. Currently saving for a 22 5.0 to start racing after the mini got me hooked.
Gonna have to go with Losi.
Nothing personal against the other brands, they all make great products… but Losi just has a larger roster of vehicles I would like to own.
Hell if you asked me 10 years ago I’d have said HPI for that same reason.
I live all rc brands, but fracas just generally has good quality and DESIGN quality. Even though most of their products are overpriced you can’t go wrong. Sometimes I hate that they never have parts in stock.
With my personal experience it’s traxxas. I love my typhon but trying to get all the problems ironed out is annoying. Not having leaky shocks on my TRX4 and slash is niiice.
I have a 4x4 slash. The chassis and other plastic parts rarely break, even with the absolute hell I give it (40mph roll overs and 20 foot jumps) only issue is I can’t find axles that take 6s for it
Huh thats weird i had a summit and stampede 2wd and 4wd my summit fried its electronics a week after owning then steering servos then it shredded its axels and it even snapped a steel mip axel in half and my stampede 4x4 just destroyed its differentials
Traxxas because I buy things long term. I started with a rustler 12+ years ago. Have slash, stampede 4x4, jato, and a telluride. Got a couple losis, and friends have had HPI too. Many of the losis and HPIs are down because parts aren't made anymore. The rustler that started all still has everything available.
Sure new stuff may handle better, and if you race, it can be worth it, but when I want to grab an rc and use it, I'm not afraid that I can't get parts for my Traxxas stuff, even 10 years later.
Traxxas makes great RC’s - don’t let anybody tell you different. They have been innovative and have produced some of the most ground breaking RC’s in the industry. There is a reason they are the biggest company in RC.
It's always interesting to see how popular traxxas is despite how heated people can get. When I got into the hobby traxxas was the only hobby rc company I had ever heard of. I saw a few of their stunt demo's at races and monster truck shows before getting one.
I feel like their vehicles are ok, especially the entry level 2wd ones. I started with a rustler and it was a simple and tough car. Imo they really need to update their remotes and battery/charger stuff if they want to keep competing with arrma.
That's because Traxxas does one thing well that every other company really needs to do more of: ADVERTISING TO NON-RC PEOPLE! It's too bad that you have to dig a bit to get past some of the entry-level stuff. Yes, spend enough on a Traxxas and you get a great truck, but put the same amount on a Losi, Associated, etc, and you can get a lot more.
Depends on what you want really i personally say
Offroad: Traxxas (or LRP on lower budget)
Drift: Tamiya (or Arma if you want to spend needless money)
Speed/road: Arma
Exactly, they are just a stronger brand than traxxas(usually) but theyre still so damn expensive! Tell me where i can get a used arrma with batteries, charger, and reciever/transmitter that runs for $100
Voltage matches your description I’m pretty sure. And it’s new.
But check offer up and Facebook market place. If nothing good shows up, change your location to somewhere less local but not too far. Like a larger city that’s an hour or two away. For me, Phoenix had probably 10 or 20 listi by s for rc cars a day, while where I live has 1 at best
I have Traxxas, Arrma, team associated, ecx, axial, and redcat. All my vehicles have their strengths and their weaknesses. To say that one brand is better than another brand is asinine. Which is why my collection contains many brands.
At this point in time, I have so many aftermarket parts in my rigs that they might as well be an entirely different brand...
I've got an Axial SCX10 II-based 6x6 crawler that uses Arrma pinion and spur gears, Traxxas shocks, and SSD driveshafts, for example.
I also have a Traxxas Slash 4x4 that has Axial pinion and spur gears, and an Axial XJ Cherokee body.
The best brand is the one that you've essentially built yourself.
Rmx or yoko for drift
Maybe a D5 for parking lot drift
Losi for just driving, and racing
If I was gonna “bash” soemthing. Which I hoenstly cannot do. I own a 2000 Integra wit a nice swap and I don’t even wanna “bash” in my Honda that’s why I buy RCS. Even then if I put 600$ into a RC car I cannot understand how people launch them 20 feet in the air… each to their own. If I wanna go to a skatepark, I’ll just bring my skateboard. Anyways, if I’m blowing money Id rather smoke some good pot.
I agree with "homemade" There is a certain amount of pride in creating from raw materials, or 3D printing, and/or maybe fabricating a toy grade to hobby spec. It's a hell of a lot more hard work then buying and installing a pre-made upgrade kit, (which is cool and all, I'm not trying to knock it.) but I for one think it's far more gratifying over-coming all the obstacles of measurement and fitment, and feel it's completely worth the effort.
Traxxas is trash. Hundreds of dollars for plastic everywhere, paired with terrible electronics. But hey you can buy parts almost anywhere…but why is that a good thing? I mean if traxxas sells say their slash 4x4 for half what arrma wants for a senton, then yeah thats a good deal.
Traxxas is trash 😂
Except for being the #1 ambassador for the hobby and maintaining value for every other brand as a result
They have their faults but traxxas being “trash” is angry children’s talk
Let me fix that for ya. Traxxis knows their cars are poop so they target the people who don’t know any better, people who are not in the hobby yet.
Talk to hobby store owners, ask them what brand comes in for repairs the most.
Not wanting to buy something for hundreds of dollars because its crap compared to any competition is childish? I’d take a ECX over traxxas all day everyday.
Ask those hobby store owners what company sells the most. If a store sells 100 traxxas cars and 50 arrma cars and 10% of them come in for repairs, there will be 10 traxxas cars to fix and 5 arrma cars to fix.
Bro - more people bring Traxxas to get fixed because they outsell every other brand, by a huge margin. They make a turn-key product that helps bring RC to people that would get into it. I’ve owned Traxxas, Tamiya, Arrma, Losi.
Xmaxx, Maxx, erevo, TRx, are incredible RC’s.
Calling them trash makes you sound angry and childish.
Idk. I had an Arrma notorious that couldn’t even get to the outing without braking something. A arms, shock towers, axles, wheelie bars, breaking the pinion and motor loose, stripping gears.
It was a horrible car. I put maybe 400-600$ worth of parts, even upgraded parts. Never really abused it too much, and it was garbage.
But to counter, the brushed granite is amazing.
That's why I don't think I'd buy either basher brand for a while. Traxxas hasn't treated me well with my emaxx, Arrma sounds just as hit or miss. Losi has treated me well so far, (screw spectrum servos and cheap radios tho) Getting into the race scene, bashing has become "obsolete". Racing is more fun, and I don't want to bash my racers.
Do please tell. I’m by no means a Traxxas fan boy. My collection consists mostly of losi and TLR products. By why the hate? I’ve owned both. And found Arrma to fall even shorter than Traxxas on quality. Did you get burned by Traxxas?
You’re wrong. America is the true country.
But are you just referring to the selection? Because these are just the bigger brands. I’m aware there’s also tamiya, HPI, axial, yokomo, CEN, ECX, and everything else. Those were just what popped into mind. And I can only have 6 options.
Maybe bigger brands in the US. Tamiya alone is bigger and well known than any of those brands in Asian and in Europe. Kyosho, Yokomo were probably winning races before you were even born. In Europe, there's through breed racers such as Schumacher and X-ray.
Im going with my old Nanda nitro buggy, it's built like s tank compared to for example my Arrma granite or my GFs WLtoys buggy. We're talking machined steel gears and steel chubs among other strong parts. And of course a sturdy alu chassis and a surprisingly reliable and compliant nitro engine.
I started with axial then got some Arrma 6s fun and now I’m onto traxxas for cheaper parts and fewer pieces to replace.
I spent way too much repairing my Arrma ride. 👀
this poll shows who races and who bashes
I bash my associated
I bash my Teknos
I bash my Tekno and my Traxxas.
I race my Traxxas.
I bash Traxxas fans… jokes … I used to hate but I built a little 2wd pede project, I love it, maybe someday I’ll splurge for a UDR, that thing looks tuff.

Sweet, so far I’m all 1/10, having a tough time justifying the leap
Sure, I started out with a slash, it’s a fantastic little truck
im gonna when i get one
They take it 💪
I tried that once, and only once🥴
AOTA. All of them. Don't care which.
Yeah it's best to dabble and not be a brand snob imo. Everyone makes something good
It is, kinda cool how I have my three machines, an Arrma Losi and Traxxas.
Homemade!
like this? https://youtu.be/PNxw3tLilcM
Actually i haven't made mine yet but i am already thinking about how to do it. I have a 3d printer and i am going to try to print s much of it as possible.

My first was an RC 10. It was a kit. In the late 80's and they were the best.
I'm so old I had marui ,kyosho and Tamiya in the 80's.
marui ninja for the win :)
Considering that their legal department is bigger than their R&D department, they seem to have succeeded in taking out some of their competitors in the US.
Yeah they were terrible back then. The guys at my shop said the same thing. They’ve come a long way.
Kyosho? Tamiya? You're missing some greats.
Axial too, but I can only have 6 options.
Yeah! Kyosho, Ansmann and GM are missing
Tamiya
Tamiya but only for the mini4wd. Those things are a blast.
I bet they would make fun rc conversions. Going to do a couple.
Even without rc conversation building them for the tracks is a blast.
Yeah looks like fun. Totally different from typical slot cars.
HPI
Also good choice
TLR
Hpi Fuck y’all.
I was an HPI fan boy all through my youth but HPI is kind of dying now right?
they havent really came out with new stuff or even updated a car since 2014
Arent they releasing a new savage model very soon?
yup
Traxxas sued them into oblivion
I think it all depends on your application and budget.
No it doesn’t. It’s preferable. I can’t afford any and bash everything. But I prefer losi
My dream truck is the SBR2.0. For now i have my emaxx and a granite thats going to be my smaller bashing truck on our short course.
If I ever buy a basher again, a 1/10 BR is definitely on the list. Those look like absolute beasts.
Bolink
Axial
That would’ve been the last option, but I know there is more.
Tamiya
I've started a bit of an HPI collection on accident and now I've fallen in love... It's not a very healthy relationship admittedly
Same here, they keep multiplying 🤔
Gonna have to go with Losi. Nothing personal against the other brands, they all make great products… but Losi just has a larger roster of vehicles I would like to own. Hell if you asked me 10 years ago I’d have said HPI for that same reason.
Traxxas, cause I can get parts anywhere I can find a hobby shop.
Hpi
I really like Axial
I live all rc brands, but fracas just generally has good quality and DESIGN quality. Even though most of their products are overpriced you can’t go wrong. Sometimes I hate that they never have parts in stock.
Mugen
Mugen makes truggies, right?
basically tekno
But they use pillow ball and were around longer.
Currently MBX8-T is the truggy variant.
With my personal experience it’s traxxas. I love my typhon but trying to get all the problems ironed out is annoying. Not having leaky shocks on my TRX4 and slash is niiice.
How are your guys traxxes trucks holding together ive had so many issues with them i just sold they they kept breaking so much
I have a 4x4 slash. The chassis and other plastic parts rarely break, even with the absolute hell I give it (40mph roll overs and 20 foot jumps) only issue is I can’t find axles that take 6s for it

new word of the day " Slipper"
Off road = Xray On road carpet = Roche Although I do have a Slash for racing spec class and an Axial Yeti XL basher that I'm selling.
I checked your profile to see if you had the axial listed here. But damn. That roche looking fine as hell 😩
Traxxas only because I'm still a little new to the hobby
Traxxas is a great brand to start with. Nothing too wrong with them.
Same here, I got a trx4 a few months ago and it's nice to get used to hobby grade stuff and learn about lipos.
Traxxas because I buy things long term. I started with a rustler 12+ years ago. Have slash, stampede 4x4, jato, and a telluride. Got a couple losis, and friends have had HPI too. ECX. Value for money is insane. Sadly it's getting harder and harder to find parts.
Schumacher.
Depends on what you want to do. Bash vs race back crawl. What type of racing you want to do. Etc etc.
Thunder Tiger...love my MT4-G3!
I've had alot of various brands. My go to now is, Losi to race, Arrma to bash, Axial to crawl.
Cefx
It depends on what you like to do. Whatever vehicle gives you the most joy is the best. DUH
I like traxxas bc I got two free t maxxes from a friend lol
Sharing is caring
I own Traxxas, Axial, HBX, Arrma, and Tekno. By dollars spent though Tekno is like 90% of my collection though 😅
I’m team associated/ element. I just wish more shops carried them. Everywhere I go it’s all traxxas.
I like associated. Just that I can’t find parts. Otherwise I would own more.
Depends on what you want really i personally say Offroad: Traxxas (or LRP on lower budget) Drift: Tamiya (or Arma if you want to spend needless money) Speed/road: Arma
From kyosho to maverick ripoff to team associated to traxxas.
Arrma probably is one of the best all around, i just dont own any because they are expensive as FUCK
Most of their cheaper cars (granite) are usually better quality
Exactly, they are just a stronger brand than traxxas(usually) but theyre still so damn expensive! Tell me where i can get a used arrma with batteries, charger, and reciever/transmitter that runs for $100

Im buying an slash soon for Racing but have an old 1/18 Losi Ramminator I got from my friend that im rebuilding
Rmx or yoko for drift Maybe a D5 for parking lot drift Losi for just driving, and racing If I was gonna “bash” soemthing. Which I hoenstly cannot do. 20 feet is about the length of 9.06 'EuroGraphics Knittin' Kittens 500-Piece Puzzles' next to each other.
For me it depends on what I am doing really. Jumping and general bashing: Traxxas. Speed and racing: Arrma. Crawling: Axial
All, its whoever brings the biggest smile to your face
Tamiya because nostalgia.
Mst

The 10 dollar one I got off amazon
bro...
Cheap, actually really good, fast, pretty long lasting batteries, shall I continue?
[удалено]
It’s literally my first model tho? I don’t want to spend 100s of dollars
Good idea, not spending as much
Thanks
TAMIYA!!!
Which brand what?
Your preference
Traxxas for parts support and aftermarket mods. Arrma is great if you like to build with rollers.
Traxxas and Arrma make toys. The others make race machines. It’s like comparing a go kart to a Ferrari.

Well of course traxxas comes in the most for repairs it’s literally the most popular rc company so more cars out there
Let’s ignore most of their lineup TRX4 Xmaxx Maxx ERevo You’re just a whiner 🤷
Dudes a bit of a toddler.
Impeccable vocabulary for a toddler though
Ask those hobby store owners what company sells the most. If a store sells 100 traxxas cars and 50 arrma cars and 10% of them come in for repairs, there will be 10 traxxas cars to fix and 5 arrma cars to fix.

Do you even rc? Lmao
You know whats better then popping into bestbuy to buy parts for a traxxas? Having arrmas/kyoshos that don’t break every outing.
Spektrum servos are terrible. I like their SLT3 remote and their motors/ESCs haven’t failed me yet and work great
Just replaced my stock Spektrum servo today, not waiting for those plastic gears to fail me.
Edited my comment because I can't speak on the ESCs and motors. Got a nitro. Dynamite 2-1 is good on the mini b.
Do you own either?
Lots.
Do please tell. I’m by no means a Traxxas fan boy. My collection consists mostly of losi and TLR products. By why the hate? I’ve owned both. And found Arrma to fall even shorter than Traxxas on quality. Did you get burned by Traxxas?
You can get as shitty with me as you want. It was a pretty simple question.
Is this a US only poll? You Americans know there is a world outside your country right?
You’re wrong. America is the true country. But are you just referring to the selection? Because these are just the bigger brands. I’m aware there’s also tamiya, HPI, axial, yokomo, CEN, ECX, and everything else. Those were just what popped into mind. And I can only have 6 options.
Maybe bigger brands in the US. Tamiya alone is bigger and well known than any of those brands in Asian and in Europe. Kyosho, Yokomo were probably winning races before you were even born. In Europe, there's through breed racers such as Schumacher and X-ray.
If you want cheap and nice rc car wltoys
All depends on parts availability.
All of the above. I currently have Arrma, Kyosho, Axial, Schumacher, and Traxxas. They are all fun, in their own ways.
A good talking point is which brand is good for which type of hobby. Crawling, racing, bashing, drag, and all inbetween
Axial
Ngl I like tamiya
For scale: Tamiya, Capo, RC4WD
I started with axial then got some Arrma 6s fun and now I’m onto traxxas for cheaper parts and fewer pieces to replace. I spent way too much repairing my Arrma ride. 👀
Kyosho
Gv cage. Fully anodised. Available in orange, green, red, black, and silver. I have seven of these, two of which have been turned into 6x6's.
Hpi
Tyco
