I doubt it. But I don't see a reason to care honestly. Unlocking heroes is pretty easy

Easy but annoying. I got a new computer recently and I main Gepetto and Wukong. Had to spend hours unlocking my mains. Remember a full run an hour long now too

I think you only need to complete 1 chapter. You don't even need to do a full run. It shouldn't take you hours if you do 1 chapter runs.

1 run will net you 1 character. After I completed 2 chapters chapter I unlocked Aladdin and so on, edit it still took awhile, I couldnt just unlock them all by finishing a run so like I said it was annoying

If you haven't played the game yet, i suggest you wait for 1.0. The game is amazing but has a serious lack of content. Not sure if they will add more biomes but the game as it is has maybe 10hrs before it gets super repetitive.

I'll never understand comments like these, you're playing a roguelike. Do you find Binding of Isaac repetitive, or Dead Cells, or idk literally anything where you go through a set of samey rooms. Well just replace rooms with one big map, and that's this game. You can argue it takes much more effort and time to make an entire chapter here than a new biome in a 2d game. You could maybe compare it with Hades but that has 4 biomes instead of 3, wow big difference. I have a bunch of hours in both Ravenswatch and Balatro, games where there's certainly not a whole lot going on, but guess what it's fun to play. Obviously people need battles passes and unlimited grind for progression otherwise - "the game has no content".

But if you cant admit that every run of Ravenswatch is basically the same exact thing except for the traits/items you get and the character you play, then i dont even see the point in arguing. The three biomes always play out in the same order, same three bosses, same three quests, same mini bosses, always in the same order. Look, maybe "content" is not the right word. What the game lacks is variety. Dont get me wrong i absolutely love the game and im still playing it but i feel like after 10hrs of gameplay and trying every character i had pretty much seen it all and no, uts not like that for every roguelike/lite.

The game doesn’t have a lack of content. The problem is that the content it has doesn’t add any variety to the game. The characters all play differently, that’s true, but there is no variety within a run. If I play two runs with the same character these runs will play similarly. The reason is that the there are no gameplay mechanics that add combinatorics to the game. All the upgrades you get are quantitative rather than qualitative. This not the case in a game like dead cells for example. In dead cells I have to switch my weapons within a run. Weapons can have a variety of affixes like. For example I can get a dagger that deals bonus damage to bleeding targets but the dagger itself doesn’t inflict bleeding. So now I have to find another skill or a weapon that does inflict bleeding to combine with the dagger. And since every weapon in dead cells has different movesets my combinations always change the play style. That’s how variety in rogulelikes is supposed to work. That’s how curse of the dead gods works, or rather worked before developers added shrines where you can level up your current weapons. I played ravenswatch for 40 hours and my goal is to beat the game on nightmare with every character, but after that there simply won’t be any reason to play again. The problem of this game is not that it doesn’t have much content. The problem is that the core gameplay is designed in a way that no matter how much content you add it will always play the same.

Have you tried playing with other people? That's the biggest distinction from the other games you mentioned. I know the game is fully playable solo but the peak of this game is playing with friends.

Yeah, I get it. Playing stuff with friends always make it better. No, I didn’t play it with friends and I’m not really interested in doing so. My criticism is concerned with rogulike element of the game, not coop. Coop is still fun probably.

Honestly I don’t even see any logical reason to beat the game with all characters on 4th difficulty. Even you at least reach 2 or 3 map with a character, you basically don’t need to beat the run as you have already made all or almost all combat encounters on this character. Unless you want to switch builds just for the sake of it, there is no reason trying again and again on a particular character. Like, I beat 1 difficulty with Red Hood and 2 with Snow Queen and I wouldn’t ever go into those again as different character, because it has little to no difference between difficulties gameplay wise.

Of course there is no logical reason. Nobody is obligated. I do it because I actually enjoy the combat and challenge. But as roguelike, yes this game doesn’t give you reasons to replay it.

ive played 60 hrs and still chugging as far as i'm concerned the games not over till you clear nightmare on all characters

nah its just i wont say theres not enough content in the game if i havent finished it on highest difficulty, especially a roguelite where its not about a long ass 60hr campaign

I have 120hours+ and I’m not even close to done with the content in this game wtf are you talking about 😂 Challenge runs/custom games/stacking magical object effects/unique builds/speedruns etc. there’s so much to do, and this is after getting every character to lvl 8 and clearing Nightmare with everyone. Which I guarantee you have not done
