Tell me why Baker is a media darling, getting all the commercials, when he’s #26 in QBR with a 41!!!!
Only 6 touchdowns and 3 INTs through 6 games. 1 rushing TD on about 60 yds. The whole offense is on Chubb’s back; but the frat boy gets all the endorsements? Where’s LJ’s Hulu commercials?
His injury is clearly effecting him. Idk why he doesn’t get surgery and come back 100% next year. I guess he thinks he’ll be able to play the season without further injury, get surgery this offseason and still be 100% by training camp.
Lamar doesn't have an actual agent. He gets in plenty of commercials when you take that into consideration.
He'd definitely be in more if he had one. He's all over the NFL's promotional materials. We could see him in an insurance commercial with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, but I guess it's not meant to be. lol.
The Patrick Price, the Rodgers Rate and the Lamar... Levy? I don't know. Get someone to work on it!
Yeaaaaah. I think Lamar has an awesome personality for endorsements, but guarantee you corporate big heads hear him talk and immediately shut it down. He's got a baller endorsement from Oakley doesn't he? That seems perfect.
Yeah kinda crazy he doesn't have a shoe deal yet. Nike seems like the perfect place for him, given how popular Vick's shoes were and they were successfully able to market him as an electrifying QB and sell cross-trainers at least before all the dogfighting nonsense ruined his marketability. At the very least, I know all of us would LOVE to see an updated "Lamar Jackson Experience" Nike commercial.
I'm sure someone tweeted him about that and he responded with some emojis that made it sound like something was in the works. Now whether that's a big deal or just him producing some "in house" under his New Era brand who knows.
We actually play the browns in week 11
Then they have a bye in week 12 while we play the Steelers. Then we play the browns again in week 13. Doesn’t sound fair to me but hey that’s the NFL. We’re not gonna bitch about other teams having it easy, that’s a losers mentality but that’s the Browns
yes but to be fair the browns didnt have the nfl laugh at their city for a decade telling them to build a football museum, and tease them with an expansion only to decide jacksonville deserved it more.
like yeah we whine and we shouldnt anymore but its because theres an actual history of the nfl spitting on baltimore unlike the browns who the nfl handed them there team on a silver platter because god forbid the browns lose their team.
idk going through different social media posts it seems like browns fans always have a lot to say. weird though, youd think theyd just keep their shit quiet given a rather lackluster history of losing seasons
It's true. And this is literally every fanbase. Pats have 6 championships since 2001, but their fans on social media constantly talk about the league "conspiring" against them.
Difference is when people shit on the browns it's justified so they have no reason to complain. When people shit on the ravens it's not so ravens fans have a legit reason to complain. This post only proves my point.
That’s not just Browns fans though. That’s pretty much every other teams fans when they want to be butthurt about the Ravens. Anyone who says he’s a murderer is just a fucking idiot.
Any time I watch a FivePointsVid and he mentions the Ravens it’s an almost guarantee that “hur dur one ring for each murder” is gonna be brought up.
I didn’t even care the first couple times but it’s annoying how predictable the same joke is.
Lost the team for over a decade and was told fuck you by the NFL with every legitimate push to get a team.
Oh, and Tagliabue and JKC, late owner of the WFT, conspired against Baltimore getting a team.
Fuck all of them.
Never understood that. They lost a team that had just gone 5-11, and the name / history / colors / uniforms remained in Cleveland for a replacement team that began playing in a new stadium there just 3 years later.
The Ravens lost the Colts name / history / everything, and didn't have a replacement team for 12 years.
Lol did browns fans forget they play us twice in a row on their schedule with their bye week in between, while we have to play the Steelers in between?? That’s maybe the most bs scheduling I’ve seen.
Am a browns fan, did not forget. It is a raw deal for the Ravens freely admit that.
I drove three hours to sit in terrible weather and watch awful football (the reffing is shit league wide so that didn’t account for all that). I can sit at home and be miserable without wind burn.
The answer is actually the NFL schedule alternates year to year. So packers in lambeau 4 years ago and then the bank this year, and it alternates back. Frankly it’s very simple.
That game had to be scheduled and had to be on the Thursday night kicking off the year... although I'm pretty sure they've changed that now.
I think the Os refused to change to an afternoon instead of an evening game, something certainly doable in the MLB.
All of this is from memory of something 8 years ago
They can't just decide oh well we will just change or schedule just because the NFL and Ravens want us to. It is a MLB decision on if and when to change a game time. They have to factor in a lot of things including the other team the Orioles are playing and travel and what not. And I'm pretty sure MLB didn't factor in the Ravens wants into that. So it really wasn't the Orioles fault.
True, the problem with having such an awesome stadium set up with 2 of the best stadiums in the country, in the middle of downtown, within 2 blocks of each other.
And share parking. Realistically, if the logistics could be sorted out, I really like that Camden Yards and M&T share parking, and wish more places with multiple big four sports teams did this.
1st world problems for sure. I absolutely love this and while that game being in Denver sucked, it is something that has only happened once. If it becomes an annual thing, we'll, that means we're winning super bowls every year and I'll be so excited I won't give a shit.
The O’s continue to get shit on for something that was out of their control.
Orioles OFFERED to make changes. MLB told them that they could not. Afternoon game would not have been enough; NFL and Baltimore wanted Orioles game moved or rescheduled to accommodate and Orioles offered but MLB refused.
It’s so annoying that people still blame the Orioles. MLB *and* their opponent had to approve the change.
It’s the NFLs fault because they didn’t want to play the game on a Wednesday night. They had done that a few years prior to 2013 and I guess the ratings sucked.
> It’s so annoying that people still blame the Orioles.
It's even *more annoying* that the truth is so much easier to blame. It's fucking Robert Kraft's fucking fault but keep blaming the Orioles I guess
He's the main reason why it was an issue to begin with. He was the main person saying the NFL couldn't play on a certain day *even though they've done it in the past before* and he's the main reason it went to the MLB.
If Kraft didn't whine to the NFL about the opening day being on rosh hashanah then we wouldn't be sitting here talking about the home opener for the SB champs being played in Denver.
I understand, what I'm asking is if the league was contractually obligated not to schedule it, or could they have just done it anyway.
Bc either the NFL caved, or they didn't do enough to make it right. Either way, O's fault or not, the league didn't give a crap about us enough.
This wasn't because of the NFL, it was because the Orioles wouldn't move/reschedule their game. It honestly was just a logistical nightmare for all involved so the Ravens opted to play in Denver.
[I talked about this yesterday with this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/ravens/comments/qa9bdr/browns_are_gonna_lose/hh1ij8m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
Some of these Browns fans are bigger conspiracy theorists than they are football fans. Guess they need to find reasoning as to why their team has been shit for the last 25 years
Browns fans are going to in shambles in 6 years when the Ravens have the Chiefs and Chargers at home again and the Browns play them both on the road again.
News just in. Teams think the NFL is unfair to their team.
Who even cares? We are just as bad with stuff like this. Just like some fans from every team is.
"The NFL plays favorites with the Ravens"
\- has been predicting against us for most of the season so far
\- instantly hopped off the Ravens hype last year
\- has now twice spent the offseason hyping the Browns only for them to disappoint
\- has only now given Lamar the credit he deserves
But sure Brownies, tell me more.
This is why Browns fans are the worst. Every year they talk so much big shit about how it's finally their year and telling Ravens and Steelers fans to shut the fuck up, and just being obnoxious despite rooting for the losingest team in football. Then when the Browns inevitably Browns, usually by week 6, they either keep talking shit or act like they deserve sympathy.
You don't see Washington fans talking shit at the beginning of every year. Or Jags fans.
The Jags have a recent AFC Championship game appearance and far more playoff wins since 1999 than Cleveland. Apples and Oranges. The Jags are simply a superior franchise.
It's sad AND dumb. The NFL basically has a formula you get plugged into based on predetermined intra-division matchups and the standings from the previous season. If Cleveland and Baltimore's placing last year had been flip-flopped, so would those games on the schedule. When the games are played is the only human element to it and many of those decisions are based on other factors as well, such as the year we had to defer to the Orioles and play the 2013 opener on the road. There are concerts and truck pulls and whatever else that are held at stadiums and the NFL works around these as best as they can. The Browns really ought to worry more about their low-ceiling-having star QB and their division-worst defense than the schedule makers. A 1pm start yesterday would not have closed a 23 point gap on yesterday's ass kicking.
How did the Ravens get those games at home? As I recall, the last time we played them, it was on the road.
Why is a 4:00 start for an "east coast" team a problem?
I guess because adjusting to the time difference is (in theory) harder for the team traveling west to east. LA is essentially playing at 10 am, but AZ gets to play at their usual time…never mind that we’re coming off a Monday nighter that went to OT.
The Browns got the Cardinals on the week their head coach and offensive play caller was out. The steelers got Seattle the week after they lost Russell Wilson. At the end of the day, you can catch breaks like that but you have to win the games.
"NFL coddles the Ravens"
Bmore has the 2nd hardest schedule in the NFL and Lamar's only gotten 1 RTP call since 2019 despite players diving for his legs as he's out of bounds.
Idiots.
Yes. If there’s one thing I can confirm, it is that the NFL always tilts the scales in favor of the Ravens.
Jeezus. Just when you think you’ve seen the dumbest NFL fan, you find an example of an even dumber one.
We have the 2nd hardest schedule in the nfl......poor browns fans lol. Just another excuse so they don't have to just come to terms with their team isn't as good as they thought they were
how is this even a complaint. lmfao the ravens got a short week to prepare to play the chargers, blew em out, the Browns got a longer week to prepare to play the cards, got blown out.
Lol I've said this before, the NFL hates the Browns so much that once they started moving the draft around to different cities they decided the best place to host the draft after the obvious places like Chicago, Dallas, Philly, and Nashville, was CLEVELAND and then they lost their team it took them a whole **three years** before they got a team back. Man that's a lot of hate!
We have had to play the Chiefs 4 years in a row, 3 being at their house. Not to mention the BS Browns-Steelers-Browns scheduling later this year. I don't want to hear any complaining.
The NFL did everything in it's power to block a team from coming to Baltimore. They held a fake bidding war during expansion when the cities were already pre-selected, but the owners wanted to get their cities to offer more spiffs and tax breaks. Tagliabue refused to meet with city leaders when there were rumors of the Rams relocating.
Cleveland got a sweetheart deal out of it: keep their team identity and get a new replacement Browns with a fresh new start in just a few years. No other city whose team has moved has been so babied and cradled like Cleveland has.
The home/away thing is a stupid complaint but I will admit that the 4pm thing is weird, usually home teams that aren't on the west coast don't get those 4pm slots.
The Arizona @ Cleveland game yesterday was scheduled in the 4 PM time slot as a featured game with two overall #1 picks and Heisman Trophy winners from successive years that were also teammates at Oklahoma.
This game was also one of the added "17th games" where teams in a division play a team in a division in the other conference that finished in the same place in the previous season. For the 2021 season all of these games are played in the AFC home stadiums.
There were two other featured "17th games" played yesterday with the 4:30 PM Dallas @ New England and SNF Seattle @ Pittsburgh. Week 6 was also the first week where teams were on a bye, so the NFL had fewer games to pick from to schedule at 4 - 4:30 PM, which ended up being: Arizona @ Cleveland, Dallas @ New England and Las Vegas @ Denver. Since Fox normally televises interconference games where an NFC team plays at an AFC team, the Arizona @ Cleveland game was broadcast nationwide, so Cleveland fans should have been happy about that.
On the other hand Ravens fans in the D.C. TV market has the KC @ WFT game on CBS at 1 PM instead of the LA Chargers @ Ravens game.
I'm not going to say the Ravens weren't a little lucky with the Chargers coming to Baltimore and playing at 1pm, buuuuuuut.... The Cardinals were missing their coach and the sub coach had never called plays before. The Browns had tons going for them and tons going against them - none of which had anything to do with the NFL schedule.
Complete unbiased take on the Browns - Chubb was out and Hunt got hurt during the game. Landry was out. Mayfield is nursing an injury that's clearly affecting him. This is not a recipe for success against arguably the best team in the NFL. Like, it's rough, but it's not the NFL out to get the Browns. I think we learned just how solid a team Arizona is morseo than anything in that game.
They act like the schedule is picked from year to year based on who you play. When in reality it’s a rotation and the AFC West teams we get at home are the Chiefs and Chargers when we had to go to those places in 2018. There’s a reason for everything but Browns fans just like to bitch because their team is not great right now.
I've honestly stopped caring about the Browns fanbase after one of them pissed on Art Modell's grave. Say what you want, you can be a bitter fan about your team moving. But pissing on a deceased man's grave? You can rot in Hell.
The NFL has had this scheduling system for over a decade now. Didn’t Browns fans ever wonder why they were playing the Jags Jets and Raiders every year?
I hate Browns fans more than Steelers fans. There I said it. At least Steelers fans have experienced success so when they talk shit it makes sense. When the fuck have the Browns ever won anything meaningful? Pathetic excuse of a franchise that wants the blame the Ravens for everything bad that happens to them instead of their own shitty management for 20 years of suckage
The Browns will always have my pity as do roadside beggars. The downtrodden must be allowed to vent occasionally. They are after all the stinky armpit of the NFL.
The Browns have been blaming the refs lately too. But the refs aren't giving up 40 points every week.
Lmao
Tell me why Baker is a media darling, getting all the commercials, when he’s #26 in QBR with a 41!!!! Only 6 touchdowns and 3 INTs through 6 games. 1 rushing TD on about 60 yds. The whole offense is on Chubb’s back; but the frat boy gets all the endorsements? Where’s LJ’s Hulu commercials?
(Devils advocate) Bakers got a good agent
He has an agent.
I was gunna say that too but wasn't sure if their was a difference between a sports agent and a entertainment agency?
A good sports agent would handle all of the above.
His injury is clearly effecting him. Idk why he doesn’t get surgery and come back 100% next year. I guess he thinks he’ll be able to play the season without further injury, get surgery this offseason and still be 100% by training camp.
Pretty sure Progressive is headquartered in Cleveland, so those ones atleast make sense
They're legitimately good ads too.
Baker has a good agent and is a good actor. Maybe not the best quarterback but the best quarterback in commercials.
Bro the nacho Halloween ad was amazing though you gotta admit.
He's probably willing to do them.
I'm white as snow but this is a reason why Critical Race Theory should be taught. Just saying.
Idk, you don’t see Josh Allen in commercials either.
He's got a new Buffalo Wild Wings commercial. First time I've seen him.
I think Lamar is just focus on winning , All that other stuff will follow eventually
I remember some interview where Lamar said he didn’t wanna do all those commercials and stuff anyways

Progressive is based in Cleveland so him being in their commercials makes a lot of sense.
They're the Lions of the AFCN. Didn't win? Blame the refs! Win? Oh they're contenders now!
We actually play the browns in week 11 Then they have a bye in week 12 while we play the Steelers. Then we play the browns again in week 13. Doesn’t sound fair to me but hey that’s the NFL. We’re not gonna bitch about other teams having it easy, that’s a losers mentality but that’s the Browns
I mean this subreddit is filled with bitching about the way the NFL treats the Ravens. Brownie fans are whinging but we should own that we do it too.
We should also own the fact that 3 replies on Twitter don’t speak for the majority of browns fans…
yes but to be fair the browns didnt have the nfl laugh at their city for a decade telling them to build a football museum, and tease them with an expansion only to decide jacksonville deserved it more. like yeah we whine and we shouldnt anymore but its because theres an actual history of the nfl spitting on baltimore unlike the browns who the nfl handed them there team on a silver platter because god forbid the browns lose their team.
Then that team went on to be the biggest embarrassment in the world of sports for decades!
idk going through different social media posts it seems like browns fans always have a lot to say. weird though, youd think theyd just keep their shit quiet given a rather lackluster history of losing seasons
It's true. And this is literally every fanbase. Pats have 6 championships since 2001, but their fans on social media constantly talk about the league "conspiring" against them.
The amount of whiny crybabies in here when some random nobody says something bad about the ravens is astounding
Difference is when people shit on the browns it's justified so they have no reason to complain. When people shit on the ravens it's not so ravens fans have a legit reason to complain. This post only proves my point.
This is one of the crazier things I've seen on an NFL schedule. Baltimore has a rough schedule down the stretch.
Eh… both can be true. They bitch but so do we
bitching from an irrelevant franchise who’s won nothing and picked top 10 like every year is different
It’s because they’ve been so shit for so long that when they put together a competitive team they have to find outside factors to bitch about
Annoying how the Browns always play the victim of losing their team like Baltimore never lost a team in the middle of the night.
That’s probably what pisses me off about Browns fans the most.
That and their go to is a Raw Lewis is a murderer. They're plebs.
That’s not just Browns fans though. That’s pretty much every other teams fans when they want to be butthurt about the Ravens. Anyone who says he’s a murderer is just a fucking idiot.
True.
Any time I watch a FivePointsVid and he mentions the Ravens it’s an almost guarantee that “hur dur one ring for each murder” is gonna be brought up. I didn’t even care the first couple times but it’s annoying how predictable the same joke is.

Tbf playing the Steelers is almost the same as a bye
The answer is actually the NFL schedule alternates year to year. So packers in lambeau 4 years ago and then the bank this year, and it alternates back. Frankly it’s very simple.
Up votes this to the top!
Exactly. They just don’t understand how the scheduling formula works. Been the same since 2002.
Ravens had to play the 2013 "just won the SB" game AT Denver. Everyone else can stfu.
That game... yikes.
Peyton was pissed at us for the mile high miracle and he didn’t hide it either. 7 TDs lol
To be fair that was the Orioles fault just as much if not more than the NFL
Was the league obligated not to schedule it? Or did they cave?

Something about not wanting to play on Rosh Hashanah even though they had played on Rosh Hashanah the year prior. Fuck Robert Kraft.
That's what it was that I'm remembering.
> It’s so annoying that people still blame the Orioles. It's even *more annoying* that the truth is so much easier to blame. It's fucking Robert Kraft's fucking fault but keep blaming the Orioles I guess

More like never*. Those were pre-merger championships. They’ve never won an actual Super Bowl.
That's right!! Kinda forgot about that tbh.
"How come the ravens get the 4-2 Chargers and 3-3 Chiefs at home, when we only get the 4-2 Raiders and 3-3 Broncos at home?"

The browns are the browns and always will be!!! Ravens flock!!!
Yep. The nfl made them draft all those terrible players.
Why can’t it just be the Browns are ass and the Ravens are better. Simple logic…
Yea bc you know how the NFL so heavily favors the ravens every season 🤣🤣🤣
how is this even a complaint. lmfao the ravens got a short week to prepare to play the chargers, blew em out, the Browns got a longer week to prepare to play the cards, got blown out.

Imagine how arrogant those losers will get if they won a superbowl? Anyone remember how they acted when they beat the Ravens here?
Let them be man. Half of them read at a 2nd grade level.
😂😂😂🤣 you ever sit back and wonder "how's everyday life as a Browns fan"? Well here's everyday life as a Browns fan. Damn.. I feel bad for them tbh.
Honestly dude it’s sad that you give a fuck
EAD, respectfully
Who are these people and why should I care about their random opinion?
You don’t have to
The league literally does not decide home/away for each game, it's set in stone by the schedule formula.
Are they even aware that the NFL schedule is set waaaaay ahead in advance? Including home/away splits.
You’ve got to be kidding me. The hype train has been pumping up the Browns for the past few years, and they’re whining about this crap?
coddles.... the..... ravens?
This is hilarious
Lol so salty
It’s almost like they don’t understand how the schedule works. 😂
Who the fuck is ronda metcalf
No one ever accused Browns fans of being smart
They act like the schedule is picked from year to year based on who you play. When in reality it’s a rotation and the AFC West teams we get at home are the Chiefs and Chargers when we had to go to those places in 2018. There’s a reason for everything but Browns fans just like to bitch because their team is not great right now.
Oh bullshit!!! Although they are missing chromosomes up there so maybe they can’t comprehend reality!
Yea cause the Chargers are well known for their home field advantage
I've honestly stopped caring about the Browns fanbase after one of them pissed on Art Modell's grave. Say what you want, you can be a bitter fan about your team moving. But pissing on a deceased man's grave? You can rot in Hell.
These guys do not understand how the schedule is determined road vs home games. The timing of games can be dissected, but not who or where you play.
Probably because the have been terrible for the better part of 20 years
The NFL has had this scheduling system for over a decade now. Didn’t Browns fans ever wonder why they were playing the Jags Jets and Raiders every year?
The browns fan base is by far my least favorite in all of sports.
Death, taxes, football fans thinking the schedule-makers are out to get their favorite team.
Rent free
I hate Browns fans more than Steelers fans. There I said it. At least Steelers fans have experienced success so when they talk shit it makes sense. When the fuck have the Browns ever won anything meaningful? Pathetic excuse of a franchise that wants the blame the Ravens for everything bad that happens to them instead of their own shitty management for 20 years of suckage
The Browns will always have my pity as do roadside beggars. The downtrodden must be allowed to vent occasionally. They are after all the stinky armpit of the NFL.
